Solar panels on houses and wind farms are implemented largely in countries like Germany. Natural gas cars have been available for a couple of years from Honda. Iceland is using Hydrogen vehicles. Hybrid vehicles are available in many countries including the USA. - Reply to this comment
- Barack Obama to shutdown all "dirty" coal power plants throughout America within two years??? There goes 58% of all the electrical power in America!!! Businesses closing down all around the country, millions laidoff and everyone sitting in the dark, no power for my computer to argue my points against this "nut-case"???

Liberals want so bad to turn us into a European country like France, but they won''t let us build a new nuclear plant that could get us off of foreign oil.

How do you figure that. I drive a car that gets 45 MPG. That is more than enough to eliminate our need for foreign oil, except of course that oil is a commodity and as such there really isn''t such a foreign or domestic destinction.
Either way, alternatives can be implemented as quickly and easily as drilling for more oil. Other countries have already developed and implemented more than enough technology to eliminate the percentage of our oil that we do not currently produce domestically. That means that we could remove ourselves from the commodity market and keep it internally if we chose to do so; although I am not necessarily suggesting that. The point is that since the technology needed already exists, it can be implemented with the same or less resources as drilling. - Reply to this comment
