Yeah I would rather of had Hillary then Biden as well...actually I would rather have Hillary then Obama...but I guess we are stuck with what we got.
I do however like McCain''s pick of Palin. I think she is what we kind of need right now. She might not be the best politician and have the best responses, but I think she has the best answers that represent what the average American wants. And what has been said about Palin is really not that bad in my eyes. I mean the troopergate thing...who wouldn''t look out for their sister. I mean if you don''t look out for your family, how are you going to look out for others.
I know you have your opinions on her, but I would rather take a chance in her, who is more like us, then what choices we have with other politicians. Its kind of scary that we only think people that are born into politics are good enough for the job. Why aren''t all of us qualified to be president? I mean you have to start somewhere and Palin has been a mayor and a governor. But for some odd reason that is not good enough for most. Its just odd that people are judging her more then they are judging Obama on the experience level. - Reply to this comment
- Well there was a point when I considered McCain - when Obama chose Biden over Hillary. I thought Hillary would be a wonderful VP - but when McCain chose Palin and I vetted her on my own... well - her religious intolerance is too much for me! Her lies about earmarks are ridicious, her lies about Troopergate and her understanding about on OUR Constitution are so like Cheney... and WE do not need another CHENEY in the White House ever again!
No, You want Biden, who GUARANTEES an international crisis to test Obama. Yep, that just the VP I want, total confidence in his boss to screw up the world! - Reply to this comment

I notice you never did answer my question:
Which is a more serious link? Giving someone half a million dollars, or having dinner with them? Which one do you think is more important?
And if you''re going to explain again about how McCain didn''t pay any attention to where HALF A MILLION dollars was going, then please, go right ahead. That makes him look financially responsible. No, honest, it does. - Reply to this comment
- Mike - my husband and I made $213K last year and we want our taxes raised so our daughter will not have to pay the $10 TRILLION deficit that Bush has run up by $5 Trillion in less than 8 years!!!!
Don''''t you think all Americans need to sacrifice a little bit NOW so our future generations don''''t have to? If you really believe McCain won''''t raise taxes and still try and balance the budget in his first term - well - that is delusional!!!!!
Not Delusional, its called cutting spending darling! I think the American taxpayer is sacrificing ENOUGH.
A huge part of this budget mess is the war. A war your buddy says he wants to accelerate in Afganistan. He keeps yacking about 10Billion a month in Iraq, but never says how much his moving the fight to Afganistan will cost.
Also, im guessing with your salaries, you work for someone who makes more than you do and prossibly a big company or corp.
Have you had the pleasure of sitting in those quarterly meetings where the progress of the company is reported? You do realize there is not a single company in this coutry who is going to outright pay Obama''s new tax, dont you? They are not going to let that affect their bottom line. Your job, or husbands job may be "collateral damage" as its typically called.
Obama''s Taxes = Jobs Lost OR Higher Prices on Goods/Services
If you want to help the national debt because your so well off, be my guest...you can contribute extra every paycheck. Your W-4 give you that option! - Reply to this comment
- Fearmongering isn''t really going to get you anywhere, FromTexWLove. Iraq had nothing to do with the attacks on 9/11. Most people got that memo. Sorry to break the unhappy news to you.

- Thank you... you are a decent person - I can see that... I just wish you liked Obama... :)

Well I wish you wanted McCain. I was just always taught to work hard to improve yourself. I don''t like the idea of benefiting off of others hardwork.
Just think of all the rich families you know, most of the kids are lazy and just expect to be taking care of by their hardworking parents. I just don''t want the American People to turn into spoiled brats. - Reply to this comment

What''''s the matter, you trying blame your failures on the government? Why is your economic situation so bad? Can''''t you manage it by yourself? Or DO YOU NEED THE GOVERNMENT TO PROVIDE IT SO YOU CAN SUCK OFF SOMEBODY ELSES SUCCESSES?"
No, I''m employed, and I''m fine. But I think it''s rather shortsighted to think that running record deficits, being engaged in two foreign wars at once, and repeatedly having to bail out the banking industry (apparently others will follow) constitutes "good economic times".
Or did you not hear about these recent events?
What part of record deficits, multiple wars, and socialist bailouts of banking institutions seems most conservative to you? - Reply to this comment
- Grasshoppers are insects, and go through egg and larval stages before becoming an adult. A young grasshopper is called a nymph, and the nymph stage lasts for about a month. After that they are considered adults, and the average lifespan is about 50 days.
Grasshoppers aren''''t going to live through the winter, regardless. So I think it''''s all right if they want to have a good time in their short lives.

You really thought about that one. But I think you are missing the point. What Obama wants to do is make the people work hard and support those people that chose not too work hard. I would love to not have to work for my money, but I was taught otherwise. - Reply to this comment
- Apparently, here''s a quip from Obama that appears on the tape:
Obama said , %u201CIsrael has no God-given right to occupy Palestine%u201D plus there%u2019s been %u201Cgenocide against the Palestinian people by Israelis.%u201D
I think it''s a crime for LA Times to withhold this tape. Dune Capital is offering a minimum of $150,000 reward for the release of the tape based on the grounds it''s the right of the American people to know who they are voting for.
I agree. - Reply to this comment

- But I don''''t blame anyone for supporting him. I just don''''t agree and I don''''t think I can be convinced differently. He already fooled me once.

You have every right to believe in what you want to believe in. I just believe McCain is a better choice then Obama...and I guess you think otherwise. Oh well...that is America. Hopefully it stays that way though. - Reply to this comment

I am not and will not call names, so I expect the same courtesy from others.
I was for McCain in 2000, and I lost faith in him when he hugged Bush and endorsed him, after the lies and the smears that Bush perpetrated against him.
When he hired the same people for his own campaign this year, that killed my faith in him entirely.
But I don''t blame anyone for supporting him. I just don''t agree and I don''t think I can be convinced differently. He already fooled me once. - Reply to this comment

- Hillary Clinton gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in
a defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a
panel of federal judges that Bill Clinton appointed from a list of
single-parent welfare recipients.
The ant loses the case.
The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits
of the ant''s food while the government house he is in, which just
happens to be the ant''s old house, crumbles around him because he
doesn''t maintain it.
The ant has disappeared in the snow. The grasshopper is found dead in a
drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang
of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

- Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody
cries when they sing, ''It''s Not Easy Being Green.
Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant''s house
where the news stations film the group singing, ''We shall overcome.
Jesse then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper''s
sake.
Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, John Kerry & Harry Reid exclaim in an
interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the
grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him
pay his fair share.
Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity and Anti-Grasshopper
Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer! The ant is fined for
failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing
left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government. - Reply to this comment
- MODERN VERSION
The ant works hard in the withering heat all sum mer long,
building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press
conference and demands to know why the ant should be warm and well fed
while others are cold and starving.
CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of
the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable
home with a table filled with food.
America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a
country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so? - Reply to this comment

So you don''t need any further information about this, because after all, it was only half a million dollars, and McCain didn''t really know what it was for...
and you want that kind of careless disregard for large amounts of money running the government?
That''s the exact attitude that got us into the financial shape we''re in now. You''re arguing that McCain truly is just more of the same. - Reply to this comment

There are two Versions - Read Both
TRADITIONAL VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long,
building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and
dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper
has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

- Do you think namecalling and insults actually help your case?
This is the precise problem with the conservative campaigns; they attack, attack, attack, and they forget that they have to present their own case, not just make personal attacks.
