- So in other words, Palin is against ALL forms of taxation which is in and of itself "spreading the wealth." Or perhaps there is something about the American infrastructure, supported by our education, transportation, legal and financial system that she does not like? Ah Sarah, golly-gosh darnit those *** taxes, in her own words she wants to screw "Larry the garbage man" and "Bob the policeman" out of a job, those socialist ***

- It''s kind of funny with the Palin quotes. They should read "So-and-so told Palin to say:_______". Seriously, the woman doesn''t think for herself. She''s a parrot. If you asked her what socialism or a socialist is, IF she could give an answer (unlikely) it would more than likely be verbatim from Webster''s.

- During the primaries, despite outspending Hillary Clinton by 2 to 1 or 4 to 1 in states like Ohio and Pennsylvania, Clinton still won those battles. Maybe at some point, voters will tune out the flood of ad messages and the selling of Obama by the national media, and decide for themselves.
One thing is clear: Obama has shown how much he likes to spend by how he has run this campaign ,. This is a foretaste of his presidency should he be elected . Repeat the phrase "tax and spend", and you will get a good sense of what an Obama Presidency would be like.
If a candidate can spend on a Presidential campaign more than double what any other campaign in history has ever spent before, think of what the size of the federal government will look like after one or two terms of an Obama presidency.
How a candidate runs his campaign is an important indicator of the character of the man or woman we may elect. In the case of Obama, the evidence is that he is a very skillful, ambitious, and driven candidate, and also a very, very cynical and dishonest one. What Obama says means very little. He is after all a clever lawyer. We have had a recent experience with a very smart lawyer as President and how he parsed words. In Obama''s case, the lies have been pretty blatant, despite the best spinning efforts by the campaign.
It is not his words, but what Obama does that matters. And right now, Barack Obama is trying to buy the Presidency, and it looks like he is succeeding. - Reply to this comment

- I would like to know why Obama has not spread the wealth around with his African Brother who lives in a hut.
This is so arrogant. And it is his half brother. Do you think Obama should go in and say hello half brother, I know you are poor and miserable, let me bring you to the great riches of the US. He would probably answer screw you, I am happy here, I am not poor, and I dont want to live in the country that is so hated around the world, and has such high crime rate. This is just so typical, arrogant mindset of many people in the US. Most people around the world dont think this is such a great place. - Reply to this comment
- dont we already have a socialist government? welfare, income taxes, medicare, medicaid, free lunch program, government funded science, government buyout of banks, etc. All of these could be considered socialist. Without socialism, the US would be a pretty miserable place. Yes, good, lets experiment with socialism. As we have been since the 1930''s.

- Road to socialism when her party''s government has already bought the banks in this country???
Where has she been?
Oh, wait. She would have to actually be in touch with Americans to know.
I have voted Republican my entire life but I''ve been insulted by the Republicans enough this election cycle. After all, Christians and patriots are Republicans...they can''t possibly be in any other party.
Colin Powell said it best this morning on Meet The Press. Polarizing? You bet. And the Christian Right scares the bejeezus out of me. - Reply to this comment
- In Capitalism, it is a given that there will always be a winner and a looser.
There are some issues that are foolish to risk creating loosers in great numbers: health care, education, housing, food and nutrition.
Depriving large numbers of people to these basic and essential needs yields huge consequences that not one class of our society is immune, such as crime, disease, homelesses, malnutrition, and famine.
Our nation has learned how incapacitated we can be if policies deprive too many from their basic needs.
I don''t know how Sarah Palin can talk about Socialism, when the Bush Administration has already revoked some valued rights in the name of patriotism. What did we get in return for giving up some of our rights these past years? A trillion dollar war without solution and a shoddy economy. If we socialized medicine, it would cost us far less and we would have something to show for the effort.
If being a patriot means we have to be deprived and oppressed, it is time we find another leader to follow. Barack Obama and Joe Biden are the best chances towards the changes that our country needs.
