Ummm... no one said it doesn''t exist. It clearly does; as there are a number of people who will vote for the candidate of their choice simply because they are black and white.

However, there are far worse things than racism, and the sorts of passes that the media have given to various blatant examples of "direct action" thuggery by Obama Supporters is pretty staggering. When it is mentioned in the press, it''s along the same lines as the MSM white wash of Ayers and his wife: they point out that the weather underground targeted the pentagon and government offices; they neglect to mention that they also tried to murder children.

dagrandma: No, I made no such assumption...but your earlier posting of "Key Republican phrases" prompted my comments. Appears we have a similar background....I too grew up in the deep south in the 50''s. My work introduced me to all cultures and the chanlleges related to it...so, while I know there are "lots" of racist out there...I don''t assume that anything that is said about a black is a racist statement. John McCain was not my choice to be the republican rep...but, when I honestly compare the two options...I''m left with one choice and that''s McCain. And, no it''s not because Obama is black...there are a number of blacks that I''d vote for tomorrow if they were on the ticket. One last thing...don''t ever assume that all the racist are white...there are a number of blacks among the top racist I have known in my life.... (yeah, I know some say a black by definition can''t be racist...but, that''s BS)

i find it interesting that people keep trying to push racism back under the rug because it makes them uncomfortable.

whosaid1: I think you''re assuming I''m black. I''m not. I grew up in an area that was a stronghold for the KKK in the 1950s and 1960s. I see the monkey in this particular story and I see the various "facts" spouted about Senator Obama as the very same type of thing I grew up with. Consequently, I believe that what it really is masking is the fact that they don''t want to vote for a black man.

dagrandma: it''s obvious that you''ve gone through life seeing a racist behind every tree...any concern voiced about Obama is racially motivated in your mind...
