- John McCain''s life has been on public display for the last 27 years. No one in Congress (democrats included) could say that McCain has been anything but the picture of patriotism.
Obama, on the other hand, doesn''t like speaking of his past. He leaves that up to the public to check into, and what the public has found isn''t that comforting. If McCain found himself involved in an organization that supported terrorism, it would not have been intentional.
Obama''s political career started in the home of a man that bombed the pentagon and capital. His spiritual advisor was a man that called upon God to "*** America." His wife openly admitted that she was not proud to be an American, and is only proud of her American heritage now because her husband was nominated president. His financial advisors were behind our country''s financial collapse. I don''t know, sounds like a typical Chicago politician to me. And he wants me to trust his judgement in running the country my children and grandchildren are inheriting.

- "he belonged to an organization that supported the predecessors to the Taliban, OBL & all."
Sir, that would make sense if you stated and had proof that John supported the Taliban, but you say he belonged to an organization that supported the predecessors of the Taliban. First, by making this accusation you need to name the organization and the predecessor that they supported. Our country supported the Shah of Iran, predecessor to Ayatollah Khomeini. That doesn''t make us supporters of terrorists and certainly did not link us to the Ayatollah. - Reply to this comment
- ...why any American would not understand the implications of a presidential nominee having ties with a terrorist...

As to the facts, it''s WAY easier to tie Lying John to terrorists, since he belonged to an organization that supported the predecessors to the Taliban, OBL & all.
So, based on your concern, you HAVE to vote for Obama. - Reply to this comment
- There is one more thing that has me very concerned that I would like to comment on. On several occasions this last week I have seen youtube videos of groups of children singing or shouting praise to Obama. I am not a young person, yet never have I seen or heard of a strong democratic leader illicit that type of devotion from it''s people; Washington, Lincoln, Reagan, not even the democrat''s own precious JF Kennedy could cause that. Stalin did, Hitler did, and Castro. They loved that devotion. If you do your research you will find that one of those videos was, at one time, actually posted on Obama''s web site. History has proven that men who seek that kind of devotion place no value on the lives of others. Washington, Lincoln, Reagan, and even JF Kennedy would have been horrified to have witnessed that kind of response to themselves.

- I can''t for the life me understand why any American would not understand the implications of a presidential nominee having ties with a terrorist, foreign or domestic. Ayers has made it plain to everyone that he does not regret what he did, would do it again. Terrorists are people who want to force their views on everyone else, which is why they have no problems with bombing capitals and voter fraud. Why have the schools not taught the danger of this kind of behaviour? No one, democrat or republican, should force their views on the public, and we should all protect our voting privileges. Obama admits Ayers'' behaviour was despicable, yet started his politcal career in the man''s living room and this seems to have absolutely no effect on those voting for him. Truly amazing!

Gov. Palin was eating lunch with five or six people when the subject of the Democrat%u2019s primary battle came up. The governor, seemingly not caring that people at nearby tables would likely hear her, uttered the slur and then laughed loudly as her meal mates joined in appreciatively.

- Wait wait wait! TASERGATE? Sarah has stuck her foot in it AGAIN!! This lame attempt at misdirection shows that INDEED she the firing was related to her sister''s ex! AND the whole detuned taser incident was reviewed by the divorce judge, AND that judge told the Palin''s to stop threatening the guy''s job, that it was "child abuse" to do so. HYPOCRITES have certainly found one of their kind to vote for.
Thank you, Sarah, for one more nugget of stupidity! - Reply to this comment

This is how Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin described Barack Obama%u2019s win over Hillary Clinton to political colleagues in a restaurant a few days after Obama locked up the Democratic Party presidential nomination.
According to Lucille, the waitress serving her table at the time and who asked that her last name not be used, Gov. Palin was eating lunch with five or six people when the subject of the Democrat%u2019s primary battle came up. The governor, seemingly not caring that people at nearby tables would likely hear her, uttered the slur and then laughed loudly as her meal mates joined in appreciatively.

- Palin ventured to the back of her charter plane to answer reporters%u2019 questions for almost 15 minutes.
Wow, she had time to repeat "Socer Mom" about 2 dozen times.

Considering the Bush/Cheney disregard of the Powell Doctrine, that is a very tenuous assertion at best. - Reply to this comment

GOv Palin is a really poor news source. She does not know where of from whom she gets her news. - Reply to this comment
- waterman24: Here''s a little something from 60 minutes:
"Our journey took us through Afghanistan, up the Shomali Plain north of the capital, Kabul. The Taliban are active in the area, so 60 Minutes hired Panjshiri mercenaries to cover our trip. The scene of the air strike is a village in the hills above Kapisa Province.
"The 60 Minutes team found the dead buried in a cornfield. It appears there were no enemy combatants. It was four generations of one family, all killed in the air strike: an 85-year-old man, four women, and four children, ranging in age from five years to seven months. One boy survived. The night of the bombing, seven-year-old Mujib happened to be staying with his uncle, Gulam Nabi.
%u201CSome of the bodies were missing a hand or a leg or half a head. We recognized one of them only by the clothes she was wearing,%u201D Nabi remembers.
"Nabi recognized Mujib%u2019s mother among the dead.
%u201CI saw my mom, my sisters, and my brother and my grandfather were dead. And our house was destroyed,%u201D the little boy remembers.
Of course, PATRIOTIC AMERICANS should never mention such a thing. Can you say My Lai? - Reply to this comment
- Troopergate - in case you didn''t know.Palin''s husband Todd is willing now to talk to the Personnel Board. It is not the Personnel Board that subpeonaed him. It was the "legislative ethics board" that issued the subpeona that he is ignoring - legislative board made up of both Democrats and Republicans. The Personnel Board is appointed by Palin herself and serves at her pleasure. Starting to get it? When Palin instructed her staff not to comply with the legal subpeonas, they offered instead to have the Personnel Board take over the whole investigation thereby invalidating the legislative board. However, last Friday a judge held up the subpeonas issued. So don''t be fooled when she says Todd is now complying - he''s not. This is a one last push to "Spin" this investigation - Troopergate to the victimization of now "Tasergate".Don''t get the two confused. The legislative board is supposed to come out with their findings this Friday despite the fact that Palin''s husband did not comply with the subpeona - which is why the timing of his sudden departure for Alaska to make the Personnel Board look legit at the time when the findings will come out from the legislative board. Sound confusing? It''s not. Only if you let Palin confuse you - which is the whole point.

- Here''s a scenario for you: I am not originally from the state in which I now live. After moving here, I became involved in a couple of community organizations, one of which I continue to be involved in. I have served with another person we''ll call Betty, who likewise is not a native of this state. I have been to Betty''s house on a few occasions. Now, supposing I find out that Betty was, in fact, a radical from the 1960s who was involved in a plot to blow up a couple of buildings. Betty is no longer considered a criminal and there are no pending charges against her. If I continue to serve on a board with her and continue to visit her occasionally at her house, DOES THAT MAKE ME A BAD PERSON?????

- ... The Democrats are scared that if McCain Palin gets elected there spending is going to be cut! ...
Posted by waterman24 at 09:57 AM
Spending cuts from the Republican party that is responsible for 2/3 of the national debt. The same Republican party that increases the rate of deficit spending as their percentage continues to grow. Time to end the drunken Washington spending associated with the fraud and abuse condoned by the Bush Administration and the Republican Party. - Reply to this comment
- Gov. Palin has been warning us of the danger of electing a President who "Pals around with terrorists..."
I would ask Gov. Palin how she feels about the military recruiting policies which John McCain has actively supported since 2003, and who her son may be forced to pal around with as a consequence. She might want to consider the experience of another Mom with a son in our military, Stephanie Cockrell, as reported by CBS News:
(CBS) U.S. Army Sgt. Juwan Johnson got a hero''s welcome while home on leave in June of 2004.
"Not only did I love my son - but my god - I liked the man he was becoming," his mother, Stephanie Cockrell, remembers.
But that trip home was the last time his family saw him alive.
"He had finished his term in Iraq," his mother said. "I talked to him the day before his death. He said, ''Mom, I''m in the process of discharging out. I''ll be out in two weeks''."
On July 3, 2005, Sgt. Johnson went to a park not far from his base in Germany to be initiated into the ''Gangster Disciples,'' a notorious Chicago-based street gang. He was beaten by eight other soldiers in a "jump-in" - an initiation rite common to many gangs.
Johnson died that night from his injuries.
Since 2003, the military has granted ''moral waivers'' to over 125,000 enlistees. Those waivers have been, in most cases, for serious criminal activity, including significant numbers of convicted felons, many of them gang members. - Reply to this comment
- 15 minutes of press conferences in a month -- hardly a reasonable workload for a VP Candidate. Then a clear indication that Fox is a Republican Surrogate -- two more interviews there while continuing to avoid the other major networks. What will Fox''s questions deal with this time -- moose hunting and field dressing -- probably anything but the issues facing the majority of the voters in the election.

- I think after her failed attempt to get elected into this office, Alaska will see just how unequipped their governor is. She presents herself with a strong tactful demeanor but techniques are basically that of a dictator that governs not by the needs of others but only by her personal gain or benefit. BUT PALIE NEEDS TO NEVER COME OUT OF ALASKA AGAIN
