- So McCain was supposedly in Washington "Rallying Republican votes" for the "Rescue Plan"??? Clearly he had NO POSITIVE EFFECT. 3/4 of Republicans voted against it.
This is another example of McCain FAILING in action while running around presenting a different position every day.
Like a chicken with his head cut off, McCain is no leader. He is just chaos in motion.
Dow is down 770 points. That wiped out almost $1 TRILLION DOLLARS of YOUR INVESTMENTS. Say goodbye to your retirement fund. It''s a good thing McCain did not get his way and put your Social Security in the Stock Market! - Reply to this comment
- Well, a little common sense has shown through today with Obama''s assessment of a need for a guiding hand in this matter.
On the other hand the Democrats that were voting for this plan need a little guidance also. Everyone needs to stop trying to look like something is getting done and actually take the time to fix the problem instead of covering it up. Things are no worse today that a month ago so what is the motive for all of this last minute rushing to create what would have been a foolish solution?
Congrats to Obama on personal Savvy, but one demerit for not dragging his fellow party members into the light of reality. - Reply to this comment
- Bush, McCain can run. But they cant hide anymore.
What ever congress does to try and fix our stunning economic catastrophe needs to be done very carefully. Congress needs to take their time, and be sure of what they are doing. Whatever is done needs to be sharply focused at helping, and protecting the best interest of the ordinary Americans. In particular the vast American middle class. 700 billion dollars is a lot of the peoples money to spend to bail out a bunch of corrupt Bush loan sharks.
My fellow human beings, just as I warned you ahead of this catastrophic economic meltdown, I must now warn you that what is ahead has the potential to be even more catastrophic than what we are going through now. The worlds geopolitical landscape has been booby trapped by the Bush McCain administration and their republican allies in congress. These booby traps are poised to spring at any time.
Fortunately the Worlds Nations have been blessed with many excellent leaders (except the US) who have been careful, wise, strong, and self-restrained in dealing with the provocations, and antagonism''s of the Bush, McCain administration.
Barack Obama and the democrats are your best hope now. Tell your family, friends, and everyone you know to support them as best you can, and vote for them like your life, and the lives of your loved ones depends on it. Because it does. You will not survive 4 more years of Bush McCain.

- Obama is calling for the House republicans to get their act together. Obama did his job because 2/3 of the votes, voting FOR the bailout bill this morning came from Democrats.
It was John McCain who failed today! John McCain could not even get the remaining 1/3 of republicans to vote on the bill. So why is John McCain running for president when he cannot even get the republicans form his own party to follow his lead. The republicans voted against John McCain today. John McCain wanted the republicans to vote for the bailout bill today, and the republican rejected the bill, and rejected John McCain.
John McCain has NO power, he sould not even get the republicans he wants to be the boss of to do what he wanted them to do.
John McCain failed at getting his own party members to agree with him, and to step up and do what needed to be done to deal with this crisis!! - Reply to this comment

- John McCain now looks like and sounds like a fool. His own party won''t even follow him on this issue. I thought John was riding in to save the day. Look what happened. He ruined the deal we had last week. Obama was so level headed. I want a President like that. John McCain and Sarah Palin look and sound lost, confused. Obama/Biden 2008.

I think you must of have written this for your fellow GOP faithful. We liberals know that you meant this as satire - we have common sense. It is the dimwitted GOP faithful you need to explain that you meant the post in a satirical sense - as common sense is a foreign concept for them. - Reply to this comment
- Now this is a leader. I don''t know what you can call McSame but these words come to mind: Liar, hypocrite, erratic, senile, etc., but the word leader is the last word I would think about when it comes to McSame. Oh, "riding" comes to mind too as riding my daddy coattails.

- The message from john43218 is a canned one that was posted to another CBS story about Palin. I realize that Republicans want to count on the same tactics they always use, but today is a new day and Obama is a new kind of politician. He is honest and will help America change for the better. The negative, ugly talk is part of the past - Obama is the future. Thank the Lord!!!
