- Who cares what Chevy Chase thinks about politics?! Who cares what any so-called "star" thinks about politics?! If news organizations stop pandering to them, maybe they''ll stop thinking their opinions mean something to the rest of us...MAYBE.

- I am going to vent for a moment. First of all I could careless about what Chevy Chase and Lindsey Lohan think. Really I mean it has come down to meaningless people like these few who have no affect on life in general but the media listens to their opinions like it means something. All I can say is vote. They are actors and if they want to be political fidures then run for office. Those people talk about war and stop the fighting. I have deployed 4 times and twice to Iraq and twice to Afghanistan. These actors mean zero to the combat heros that are fighting everyday to give them their freedom of speech. Do they once thank them? Do they once give a shout out to the men and women that give them the right? No. Chevy Chase is a funny guy and that is all. He has an opinion like I have an opinion only he has the media. Lindsey Lohan''s reputation adds little credibility to what her opinion is. The American public cares less what these tabliod individuals have to say.

- SNL was a hoot...I got to hand it to Sarah Palin, she''s thick-skinned and fully expected her to take this in stride; anytime I see the left-wingnuts, feminazis, and the DEMagogues trying to paint her as a so-called "bible-thumpin" ***, etc. it just makes giddy. That tells me she''s got ''em scared to death...
As more people attend her rallies the more they know true conviction vs. rhetoric and someone that is quite gifted with or without a tele-prompter.
Go Sarah! - Reply to this comment
- Just confirmed: Sarah Palin installed a TANNING BED in the Alaskan Governor''s Mansion. Now, that''s some real change for ya.

I couldn''t include everything, and never even started life after he announced his candidacy for President, but at least you got "a flavor" of the man.
Perhaps now you will understand why I find your Governor Palin''s acceptance speech lie about Obama quite objectionable. She told a TV audience of 84,000,000 US voters that "Listening to him speak, it''s easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but NOT A SINGLE MAJOR LAW OR REFORM". Not a single major law? Really, you have just seen a few of his dozens of "major laws" and accomplishments, how dare Governor Palin lie in such a bold-faced manner and insult Senator Obama before the US public. I conclude, therefore, that she is a dishonorable and dishonest woman who cannot be trusted not to lie to US voters. I was disappointed to discover that she was merely a McCain puppet. She lies too easily, as does McCain.
Why would you have America put a facile liar in the White House, when you could have Obama, a very admirable man.
I believe you told me Governor Palin was more qualified than Senator Obama. Please respond to me with background information about her, which I''d appreciate. But, somehow I think her background and accomplishments may be a little thinner.

He sponsored a Senate amendment to the State Children''s Health Insurance Program providing one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries....and many, many more.
He has served on the Senate Committees for Foreign Relations, the Environment and Public Works Cttee and Veterans'' Affairs Cttee. He fullfilled assignments with Health, Education, Labor and Pensions and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. He also became Chairman of the Senate''s subcommittee on European Affairs.Obama has made official trips to Eastern Europe, Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa.
In his 4 years in the US Senate Obama successfully authored more major laws than McCain achieved in his 22 year career in the Senate.
Unlike Governor Palin and Senator McCain, who had ghost writers write their books, Obama himself authored and edited two best-selling books; Dreams of My Father and The Audacity of Hope.

and predatory mortgage lending regulations aimed at averting home foreclosures. He became chairman of the Illinois Senate''s Health and Human Services Committee in 2003 and led the unanimous, bipartisan passage of legislation to monitor racial profiling. In 2002, he gave his now famous speech against US invasion of Iraq and pressed President Bush not to engage in a "dumb war" that would be long-lasting, take too many lives and cost US taxpayers too much.
He was elected to the US Senate in 2004. That same year he delivered his now famous keynote speech at the Democratic Convention. He introduced two initiatives bearing his name: "Lugar%u2013Obama," which expanded the Nunn%u2013Lugar cooperative threat reduction concept to conventional weapons,[and the "Coburn%u2013Obama Transparency Act." He introduced S. 453, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections, as well as the Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007. He sponsored an amendment to the Defense Authorization Act adding safeguards for personality disorder military discharges, the "Iran Sanctions Enabling Act" supporting divestment of state pension funds from Iran''s oil and gas industry, and co-sponsored legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism.

- Dear PILOTUSA.
Your information on Obama''s "less than noteworthy" achievements as a Senator is sorely lacking, and insulting. Allow me to fill in just a little of Senator Obama%u2019s background.Below are links to NEWSWEEK and DAILY KOS, independent factual confirmation of key facts and editorial point of view. .
BTW, he is the Presidential candidate, not the Vice President, and has a distinguished career, blazing trails all his life. He graduated from Columbia University in NYC then got his law degree from Harvard, where he was elected by the student body to the highly prestigious Presidency of the Harvard Law Review. He passed the bar and became a civil rights lawyer, turning down several $80,000 positions in major law firms because he wanted to first give back to the community and worked for three years as a $12,000 per year community organizer. Later,he would practice law at a reputed Chicago law firm and also served as Professor/Lecturer of US Constitution Law at the University of Chicago.
He was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996. Obama gained bipartisan support for legislation reforming ethics and health care laws and sponsored a law increasing tax credits for low-income workers, negotiated welfare reform, and promoted increased subsidies for childcare. In 2001, as co-chairman of the bipartisan Joint Committee on Administrative Rules, Obama supported Republican Governor Ryan''s payday loan regulations PART II FOLLOWS - Reply to this comment

"She thought it was quite funny, particularly because she once dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween"
Translation: she did not find it funny and so she tries to take a ****** dig at Tina Fey, likely telling yet another casual lie in the process. This woman is an ultra-right wing version of Peggy Hill. - Reply to this comment

- Dear pilotusa, i think you have a major fallacy in your comparison, which is a paraphrase of a hollywood actress who is totally out of touch with the majority of Americans. It is an insult to suggest Jesus Christ was just a community organizer. You are therefore trying to compare Obama to the son of God. How messed up is that? Here''s my question to you. WWJD - Obama is a lawyer. This is what Jesus said about lawyers in Luke chapter 11: "And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers." "Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered." Basically, Jesus was referring to the way Lawyers twist words so that no one can understand them. You can''t get a straight answer out of them, because they twist things so much. Just what we need in Washington - MORE LAWYERS - the reason this country is screwed up in the first place. Jesus had it right! SO DOES PALIN - the need to get rid of some with a smaller government. lwc777
