Oh, come on. Some of the Republicans on here are being extremely disingenuous. And I guess all of you were up in arms when McCain used the same phrase regarding Sen. Clinton? Yeah, something tells me that''s not the case.

Gov. Palin did not invent the word "lipstick." The McCain campaign is reaching on this. And here''s a little newsflash, just because you don''t know that this phrase is extremely common doesn''t mean that it isn''t. I''ve heard this phrase millions of times, especially in politics. And it is absolutely not a gender-related statement.

And come on, Republicans advocated women''s issues is totally ridiculous.

%u201CYou can put lipstick on a pig, but it%u2019s still a pig%u201D? I wonder, is this the same sentiment he holds towards all women and is this the attitude he held towards Hillary during the primaries, who he%u2019s still encouraging to be his attack dog towards Gov. Palin.

Obamas beginning to sound like a desperate and pathetic little man with his back to the wall. It appears he will say and do anything to get elected. I wonder if he regards his wife and his little girls as pigs as well? He certainly doesn%u2019t have a high opinion of women, does he? in behalf of millions of hard working american women and Hillary supporters we are going to punish our party and elect republican president no way obama

BS, just out of curiosity, did you suggest that McCain was using a "bizarre analogy" when he used the "lipstick on a pig" phrase? This looks like biased journalism, and not the sort McCain complains about.

By the ways, in the way that Obama is using this metaphor, McCain and Palin are the lipstick while Bush''s policies are the pig.

"Yeah it''''s an "old saying", one usually used to disparage women. How is that any kind of explanation? If it was not an intentional dig then maybe he is not as bright as people say. How could he not have seen how this would be interpreted? Either way it is a disgusting comment."

So lipstick on a pitbull dog is ''okay'' but lipstick on a pig isn''t? Comparing a woman to a dog is okay? Hypocrites, your values stink!

Who is Barak Obama? He''s an ambitious politician - unwilling to take the time and patience to build a national reputation as an experienced leader (eighteen months in the US Senate?). He''s unprincipled - has takes multiple positions on many issues. Sometimes untruthful - he lied about his tolerance of Rev. Wright''s message and his position on infanticide in the Illinois legislature. Very arrogant - his comments about gun owners and people of faith (San Fran. fund-raiser). He''s an Elitist and unconcerned - refusal to see our troops on his European tour. Accepting of the liberal theology taught at Trinity Church. It''s a quasi-communist perversion of Christianity (remember the Sandinistas?) Unusual in family practices (not giving presents for birthdays or Christmas). Indecisive - (did the surge work in Iraq? What would you do in Georgia?) Wishy-washy (nuanced) on everything (Saddleback Forum) to hide his true beliefs. HYPOCRITE OBAMA! HE REALLY LET US DOWN! WHAT OTHER LIES IS HE GOING TO SPREAD NOW? HE PROMISED CHANGE, BUT WHO REALLY LOOKED OUT OF THE BOX? SENATOR CLINTON DEMOCRATS FOR CHANGE AND FOR SENATOR MCCAIN!

If you haven''t heard the phrase "putting lipstick on a pig" before, you clearly need to get out more. It''s an old old phrase, ask your grandparents about it. Not bizarre at all.

Here''s McCain referring to Hilary''s health care plan:

%u201CI think they put some lipstick on a pig,%u201D he said, %u201Cbut it%u2019s still a pig.%u201D

Now, all you fake outraged people - was McCain calling Hilary a pig?

One more - McCain''s former press secretary, Torie Clarke, wrote a book called "Lipstick on a Pig: Winning in the No-Spin Era."

Just another case of ginned up fake controversy.

And Jane Swift is a moron, by the ways. Here''s more from her clueless exchange today:

A reporter then reminded Swift that in December, McCain was asked about criticisms coming his way from then-opponent Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass., and McCain replied, "Never get into a wrestling match with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig likes it."

Was McCain calling Romney a pig? a reporter asked Swift.

Of course not, Swift said.

Yeah it''s an "old saying", one usually used to disparage women. How is that any kind of explanation? If it was not an intentional dig then maybe he is not as bright as people say. How could he not have seen how this would be interpreted? Either way it is a disgusting comment. Robert Gibbs'' dismissal of the comment is just idiotic. If Obama really meant no personal insult to Palin then Gibbs should have said so.

I thought you Neo cons would be saying that this is an old joke or something, because it has been used in politics for decades. However you think you can fool someone int voting for you if you throw a hissyfit. But, I am forgetting that you all say George Bush is a good president, when he is probably the worst of all time. Anyway, everyone realizes that you republicans have no decency, and you''ll try to get votes from anything, 9/11, racism, a disabled child, dead soldiers, and the list goes on. And you call yourselves "Patriots" - my God have some shame!!

Actually it was John McCain who used that phrase about Hillary Clinton while attacking her health care proposal last year. So where were all these offended Republicons then? Hypocrites, sick shameless hypocrites, with NO moral values.
McCain calls his own wife a c***, and you should see the clips on YouTube where he attacks women with streams of foul language that no decent man would dare use in or out of the public eye. There''s your pig!
