As standup comedy goes, that''s pretty weak stuff. The Messiah had better stick to his day job, or higher some better writers.

Talk and diplomacy have their place but they''re pretty much useless if there''s no "or else."

Democrats are losing the game with energy. "Conservation" seems to be the watchword with them. It does pretty good on the focus groups and polls. Everyone wants to conserve energy.

But what people say and what they do are frequently two different things. People were also for higher gas prices to spur conservation. Right up until they actually had to reach for their wallets.

But while they are for the concept, they are definitely not for it in practice. Gas hit $4 and people squealed. Now Democrats are saying they are working for lower gas prices.

How exactly that is supposed to work is a mystery to me and many others.

People support "sacrifice", as an idea. But when they''re the ones doing the sacrificing they''re not so supportive. Especially when they see the people who are selling the "sacrifice" ticket are not riding the train.

As for "Business as usual?" How can you view Joe Biden as anything but a marker for the same old, same old?

Obama has to do more of this.

He should be on a national TV show EVERY NIGHT!!!

The Republicans are banking on Obama losing votes as they portray him and Michelle as "angry black people"...dark and dangerous. That is the gut level subtext of the McCain/Rovian campaign.

The way Obama needs to/can defuse the race issue (and, sadly it is an issue) is to appear over and over and over on national TV as an entertaining decent funny smart guy.

Once the American people get to know him...any lingering prejudice will be cured.

The hardcore racists have been with the Republican party since Richard Nixon...they ain''''t goin anywhere.

The big lie con job from McCain/Rove must not be allowed to succeed.

Obama must fight for the life and soul of America.

I used to have some respect for John McCain; tragically he has made a Faustian bargain to get this job...and for what? To satisfy his own egoic powerlust, it''''s that transparent.

Shame on you John McCain.

May the Good Lord give Barack Obama the grace and strength to stand up to, and defeat the darkness that would envelope our nation and our planet......

Or he can stand up in front of everybody and expose himself to be nothing more than he is --- a clown

He is going to need that sense of humor if the polls keep going like they have lately. Too bad the Dems went from from taking women''s votes for granted to outright contempt for them. I can tell you who is really laughing right now---PUMAS

"Vote policies not personalities."

Taxes: Lower (for whom) or Higher(for whom)?
Defense: Stronger (Diplomatic and Proactive) or Weaker ("Maverick and Reactive)?
Energy: More (conservation) or Less?
Change: Maverick (senile) senator or Rational thinker?
Partisanship: Lieberman''''s friend or Everyone''s Servant?

You should choose based on past actions and policies.

I completely agree.

Obama should remember that the cost of living in the newer states like Hawaii and Alaska tends to be expense. You hunt moose to help spread the food dollar.

I guess he does not have to worry about things like that...

It will be comforting for you guys to blame Obama''s inevitable loss on racism and I''m OK with that. You can continue to think that the policies he espouses are popular with voters and keep on losing.

Wake up it''s not racism it''s his ideas that make him unpopular.
