- The issue of age and experience has been around for a long time. Alexander the Great wasn''t seasoned enough to be a great leader, and should have studied for another couple of decades before embarking on his world conquest. No telling how successful Bill Gates would have been had he had only stayed in school for another eight years and completing his Doctorate before launching his business career. Then there''s that Hebrew guy from a couple of thousand years ago. Maybe his teachings would have lasted had he only served some time as one of the Pharisees.
No insult or offense intended, but I get so tired of the experience card. It has never been the determining factor in the success of a great leader. Vision, intelligence and decision making style are much more important, and Obama appears to excel in all three of those ares. At least, a lot more so than John McCain. - Reply to this comment
- Jack3213 and many others who stain these news blogs represent the core of America''s ignorance, fear and hate of a candidate who is different. America has become plagued- with increased intensity during the Bush regime- with these qualities in what might be the darkest period of American thought and culture. It is time to evolve as a nation and become what our founders meant it to be. The neo-con right wing is losing power... let us all celebrate.
