Today Senator Clinton made a statement in relations to previous primaries. She said that other campaigns in the past went well into the month of June and she gave examples such as the 1992 and the 1968 campaign. She said that RFK was still campaigning in June and his campaign was still going when he was assassinated.
Our supporters went online and screamed bloody murder. Some of our supporters started running like chickens without heads, yelling and screaming that Senator Clinton is staying in the campaign because Senator Obama might be assassinated, which would allow her to get the nomination.
In a nutshell, our supporters are saying that Senator Clinton wants and wishes Senator Obama to be assassinated (check the posts and comments here and on other blogs).
Let me say this in the most direct way possible and as straight as i can: this is the most dishonest faked outrage i have seen since i got involved in politics in mid-1980s. It is just plain disgusting that we behaved like that. We ought to be ashamed of ourselves. We brought nothing but shame to the campaign of Senator Obama today. - Reply to this comment
- The RFK reference is telling because it illuminates Senator Clinton''s way of thinking. In her world, Obama is significant only because he is an obstacle that stands between her and what she wants. And a number of things (an unforeseen scandal or a plane crash -- or even assassination) might fortuitously remove that obstacle from her path at any moment.
Given that outlook, put yourself in Obama''s position for a moment. Would you want Clinton as your vice president? - Reply to this comment
- Ever the gentleman, Obama emanates kindness to a rival who has done everything she can think of to diminish him. The big lesson for her is that she''s the one she is hurting. That''s the lesson that the McCain campaigners need to learn from. It''s just plain as day. Obama''s capable of being gentlemanly but it comes from strength. Rivals who don''t get that are likely to engage the dialog at too low a level.

- Fact is: BHObama has been receiving death threats ever since he decided to ambitiously run for president. Even his ugly wife said so in one of the TV interviews last february. THat is why he is protected by the Secret Service, paid for with our tax dollars. So why are the Bhobamaniacs, his blind followers and fanatic pundits become suddenly busy spinning Hillary''s comments into painting her like she is the assasin? Fact is: threats are present even if Hillary didn''t say anything about it. If Bhobamaniacs cannot accept this fact, then they are just plain naive(aka stupid).
Fact is: BHO is a sleazy unpatriotic politician who will do and say anything to trick naive voters into voting for him. He even wore a lapel flag pin the other day! What a joke! We, independents, can never trust him. We vote for either Hillary or McCain. - Reply to this comment
