As the rumination continues over Barack Obama''s comments about economically-depressed small town voters, statements made by Bill Clinton on the same topic -- uttered while he was running for president in 1991 -- have now surfaced.

"The reason (George H. W. Bush''s tactic) works so well now is that you have (All these Economically Insecure White People) who are Scared to Death,"

Clinton was quoted saying by the Los Angeles Times in September 1991.

A couple months later, Joe Klein, writing for the Sunday Times, reported that Clinton made the following remarks:

"You know, he [Bush Sr.] wants to divide us over race. I''m from the South. I understand this.

When their economic policies fail, when the country''s coming apart rather than coming together, what do they do?

Bill Clinton: They find the (Most Economically Insecure White Men) and Scare the Living Daylights out of them !!

Bruce Springsteen is one good dude. My husband loves guns and will be pleased about the endorsement of the American Hunters and Shooters Association. Obama is the man for me. He will be able to correct many of the horrible things that Bush has done. We desperately need his intelligence and his common sense after all the corruption of the republican neocon government. This is redicculous! If anybody raises a legitimate concern or question about Obama''s background or connections they are called a racist. Why are they so overprotective if there is nothing to hide? Why hasn''t he produced all of his tax forms? He wants to be the President, for God''s sake! I for one would be proud to have a black or female for Pres., just not one who is unprepared or pushing their own agenda. We''ve already seen that with Bush and Co.Frankly, we don''t even know how an Obama presidency would effect our country. We''re not really allowed to ask questions he might take offense to or not wish to answer. We are politically correct to our own detriment.

%u201CLet me make one last point about the comparison to McGovern and Dukakis, both excellent men, but I%u2019m a pretty *** good politician. And I can give a pretty good speech and I can connect and inspire the American people in ways that I think will become apparent. I wouldn%u2019t be here if I wasn%u2019t pretty good at mixing it up. And so much of the attack machine that%u2019s been built up is part of the old politics"

You do give a good speech and you are quite the politician!! Not to mention your high opinion of yourself,.....I see that "E" word coming again!!
