DISPATCHES FROM THE GROUND WAR ...

ANOTHER SHOOT-OUT AT CLINTON CREDIBILITY GAP ...

Clinton Under Fire Over False Story Of Health Care Horror

New York Times
April 5, 2008

Over the last five weeks, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York has featured in her campaign stump speeches the story of a health care horror: an uninsured pregnant woman who lost her baby and died herself after being denied care by an Ohio hospital because she could not come up with a $100 fee.

The woman, Trina Bachtel, did die last August, two weeks after her baby boy was stillborn at O''Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio. But hospital administrators said Friday that Ms. Bachtel was under the care of an obstetrics practice affiliated with the hospital, that she was never refused treatment and that she was, in fact, insured.[...]

Um... does she ever back up her claim to have criticized the war before Obama did? Or does she see herself as completely above facts or evidence at this point?

To ksh1022

I love you Clintonistas. You never let logic get in the way of your obsession.

If all Obama''s experience before the Senate was as a community organizer, then how did he vote "present" 130 times? What did he do, go down to the street corner and scream "present" at the top of his lungs?

In fact, Mr. Obama has more years (and more than 4000 votes) as an elected official than Hillary does.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but reality should play at least SOME part in this debate.

The Hilldabeast''s Senate record is a paucity of decision making. She absolutely has done nothing in the time she''s taken up that seat. As a contrast, Obama''s sponsored and passed four times as many bills, and that''s all in two years. He is hard working as well as better prepared to analyze the facts to make a good decision. The Clinton''s are famous for not making decisions, rather they constantly check the polls to see which side of a decision will positively affect their image.

What a rotten legacy from two of the most corrupt politicians America saw in the 20th and 21st centuries.

As for similar voting on Iraq, Obama didn''t vote for war, Hillary. He voted to fund supplies like bullet-proof vests to help keep safe our boys who were already needlessly sent there by you.

Yes, Hil is tough and keeps going--like Rocky or actually more like Monty Python''s Black Knight...Hil is a woman who has had most of her claims to experience refuted by those who were actually there...even in Ireland where one of the participants in the Peace Talks, a Nobel Prize winner...laughed and said she was being a "wee bit silly" in her claims as to the importance of her role....Community organizer is good...it means he knows how to represent the people...Mrs. Clinton says she''ll support the unions but she decided to get her experience as a board member for Wal-Mart for several years in the company of one of the most vitriolic anti-union lawyers...check it out...

Whoever wrote this has distorted the young man''s thoughtful questions as outbursts. They were even and considered. Her reply was comfortable and impressive.

I am not planning to vote for Sen. Clinton but I took note that her appearance in Eugene was excellent. She did not get toxic toward Obama. There were no outbursts. Your reporter is distorting. There''s video available at websites of local stations KEZI and sorry I don''t know the other one.

This is just amazing. Has anyone else noticed the irony in these two statements coming right after one another:

"But her calm tone and relaxed demeanor soon became sharp and fiery."

and then, a paragraph later:

"Clinton went on to say that elections can be heated and a president has to be able to handle criticism."

Look. Either you are fiery and sharp, or you can handle criticism. Not btoh. But then most of her arguments don''t folow through to the end. Either Hillary''s adminstration is part two of Bill''s since she was a big part of it, or she has no experience in the White House. Either disenfranchising voters is bad, bad, bad, or the super-delegates should overturn the popular and pledged delegate counts (should I mention in light of disenfranchisement arguments what her courting of Obama''s pledged delegates means?). Either she is a Democrat, or she should say that the Republican nominee is more qualified than the Democrat winning the primaries. Either she regrets her vote for the war, or she supported the war.

Wo. I guess with her we''ll get the best ideas. Unless we start believing them... Forty years of change indeed.

Morally and civically repugnant, the Hilldebeast monster demonstrates to America that this election is about noting but her! "It''s all about ME ME ME ME! And don''t you forget it you scumbag!"

I hope she gets slapped so hard she permanently disappears from America. What a filthy self centered beast.

I believe this report is inaccurate and negatively biased. I was at the rally and Senator Clinton did not grow "more frustrated" as Mr. Suarez writes. Also he misquoted her as she never stated the quote cited stating, "by pointing to a higher cause and expecting them to shelve their personal . . ." Mr. Suarez please stick to reporting the facts.

Disingenuous and abhorrent... Clinton amuses herself at America''s expense trading ill-found comments on her visit to Bosnia during the Jay Leno show and the American people and PRESS give her a FREE PASS. It is at the very least "indignant" and at it''s very worst REPUGNANT...

Please make your vote count and let''s change America for the better!...

Good job Hillary! This is why she''d be the best nominee. She''s tough and smart. She knows her stuff. She could actually do the job. I don''t think Obama would even know where to begin. He''s only been in the Fed. gov for 2 years. He was a community organizer. Even dumb *** Bush was a Govenor. Obamas speeches are good. But unfortunately as President you have to make decisions. Obama doesn''t like to do this. Remember the 130 "present votes"?
