- As someone who has worked in higher education for 36 years, the issue of plagiarism and intellectual property is one that comes up quite often.
If someone (Obama) is to borrow words used by his friend, the least he could have done is to say, "As someone once said, . . . " Since he didn''t do that, it was assumed that these were his words, uttered for the first time.
Obama''s rhetoric seems to be winning the election, but can''t it at least be his own? - Reply to this comment

- As an european watching the election hype I am a bit confused by the whole process.I am no fan of hilary but I fail to understand the ''magic'' of Obama. No doubt he is a good speaker but he has not had one single achievement in political life!
HE calls himself(!!!!) visionary and that is a bit like someone asking for people''s vote saying he''s brilliant! You do things brilliantly and then people should say you are brilliant. In the same way you cannot claim to be a visionary when you have no vision at all about the future of USA and have very similar proposals as clinton! Pray tell me what Mr Obama''s visons are?!! He reminds me of the britney, lohan celebrity culture where anyone who speaks well(now we know even the words were borrowed) and presents himself well can be your next president. The media loves to jump on the bandwagon just to show it can create celebrities out of nothing! If so how about making Scarlett Johansson the next president atleast we europeans will keep the her picture in our offices! - Reply to this comment
