David,

I agree with you. The media have been abominable in this election. Their treatment of candidates that were not their chosen ones, and the ones THEY deemed not viable is unforgivable.

When the media do not fulfill their obligation to be an objective conduit between the candidates and the people who must make the electoral decisions that will determine the future of this country, the media should be arrested and put on trial for treason. Literally!

I have been very excited about this presidential race because three candidates (Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, and Barack Obama) emerged as true candidates of the people. Nobody owns them, and they aren''t part of the establishment.

Now, every day I read about another establishment endorsement by a media personality or lobbiest. I live in Washington, DC and have seen every GOP lobbiest go to one of three camps: Giuliani, Romney, or Thompson.

Giuliani was viewed as a continuation of the Bush administration and a continuation of the same money train. Romney is viewed as a straight shot at Wall Street money and a continuation of a wealthy ruling class. Thompson was a conservative favorite who failed to deliver.

Through all of this...THE PEOPLE BACKED HUCKABEE AND PAUL!

I urge voters not tp let the media, bought and paid for by Mitt Romney, affect your vote.

VOTE YOUR CONSCIENCE. VOTE YOUR HEART. VOTE FOR MIKE HUCKABEE!

You say John McCain is at least consistant in his beliefs yet he says he is conservative but votes on liberal causes. Explain that one.

It is not for political gain!! Where did you get that idea from?? You should be glad that he has come to understand that conservative values are more important instead of tearing him down. So you would rather have a liberal run the country!! We are both on the same side. I think we both agree with the values of the Republica party so why can we not unite together against liberal Mccain? That is what I don''t understand from the Huckabee supporters.

Melinda:

Yes... it''s called conviction! I am more tolerant of someone who is consistantly honest with themself (thereby capable of being honest with others) than with someone who varies their "beliefs" for polical gain.

So, Mike, let me get this straight. You have more tolerance for someone who has always been and will always be more liberal than for someone who has changed from more liberal positions to strongly conservative now? Give me a break!

The GOP primary is NOT a 2-man race as some in the media are trying to spin it. Mike Huckabee is only a fraction behind Mitt Romney and has a much better chance of closing the gap with McCain than Romney who has clearly maxed out his support.

The suggestion that Romney''s supporters are making that Huck is the one splitting the conservative vote has been proven untrue by an opinion poll from Fox news:

(From http://www.foxnews.com/projects/pdf/020108_election_release_web.pdf)

7. If John McCain and Mitt Romney were the only choices in the Republican
primary, how would you vote?
30-31 Jan 08
Republicans: McCain 62%/ Romney 29/ (Don%u2019t know) 6/ (Would not vote) 3

Not only is Huckabee NOT OUT & NOT taking votes from Romney, but clearly a vote for Romney is actually the one that''s a vote for McCain!!! (since Huck''s votes would mainly go to McCain if Huck dropped out)

We conservatives still have a chance if we can rally quickly behind Huckabee!

sir38,
Hannity et al. are not being principled; they are Romney-boughts. Google it - Romney''s Bain Capital is going to be writing their paychecks when it finishes buying Clear Channel - they have a livelihood to protect!

(Yeah, Bain Capital - the same company that is working with a Chinese terrorist-supporting company to help them buy 3COM - an American company with national security technology and the reason that Duncan Hunter said ''no way'' to endorsing Romney)

Melinda:

Is it perhaps that McCain, although certainly liberal on many of his positions, has at least been consistant? One needs only to look at his record. Gov. Romney, on the other hand, has not been consistant. His record on gun control, illigal aliens, same *** marriage, abortion, etc... and conflicting statements made over the last several years reveal that.

Please don''t get me wrong. I have a great deal of respect for Gov. Romney and his accomplishments as a business man. However, I do not admire his record as a Governor or his "flexibility" since he began his campaign on various key issues. I also don''t percieve him to be a very genuine man who is "in touch" with the "Joe Mainstreets" of this country.

Like Gov. Huckabee, a person does not have to agree with me in order to earn my respect, but that person at least has to be consistant in his/her beliefs.

Maybe that''s why?!?

Oh, and by the way... a vote for Huckabee IS a vote for HUCKABEE!!!

It''s the endorsements people give when they have to lose than to gain by endorsement that matter. Ingraham, AND ESPECIALLY HANNITY, have more to lose by endorsing Romney than to gain, since they know the risk alientating the probable winner with the endorsement (McCain). It shows Hannity and Ingraham have beliefs that matter more than their personal interests, and it reaffirms to me that they are principled. This is also the reason that Crist and Swarzenegger''s endorsements of McCain mean nothing. They''re opportunistic. They were waiting to see how they could gain the most with their endorsements.

Since when is telling the truth about an opponents record and stance "Slamming"? Only when you support the one being "outed"! Huckabee beat Romney in Iowa spending less that one tenth the amount. The only reason Romney has been able to stay in the race is because he has used massive amounts of his personal fortune. The media has painted Huckabee out of the picture, calling it a two man race, because they know Huckabee is the only contender who could inspire the base like he did in Iowa and beat Hill or Bambi. Get ready for four years of hell!

It is about time Huckabee blasted that lying cheating Romney. He has been lying about Huckabee for months with his purchased media power. He thought he could say enough lies and spend enough money to buy the White House - WRONG!!! WE THE PEOPLE still decide elections.

WE ARE VOTING MIKE HUCKABEE!!!!
