- JBREWSTER7... sounds like a paid operative, I am a lifelong democrat and I will have to say to you get over it buddy! If you think Romney or Giuliani will survive the attacks to come you are sadly mistaken, Example RUDY on THE slide! He has already started to find that his record of mistresses and state funds will not add up to anyone! Romney Looks like a used car salesman to me. The big difference to me Is I can connect with Mike, you sir obviously can''t! You have spent far too much time here to even be credible. Your posts are obviously subjective and not objective!
As I was saying I am a lifelong democrat and this guy is truly a breath of fresh air. As for the media being there today, were else would they be when the FRONT RUNNER in Iowa is out and about?? DUH! Did anyone check to see the videos available on you tube... were there any vids about the other candidates and the press pools that follow? I mean don%u2019t these candidates at least the ones on top have a press pool following them? Not a mystery to anyone who knows politics!
And finally, so what mikes made a few comments in the past! Depends on the meaning of what IS! IS???
In closing Good Luck Mike! And as the front runner you keep brushing off the Brewster mentality and if you make it to the top... I may just be a democrat for mike! - Reply to this comment
- Mike Huckabee stands for fiscal responsibility. As Governor, he raised money before he spent it (on failing transportation and education infrastructure) and did so because it was absolutely 100% necessary. Where spending wasn''t necessary or taxes were inappropriate, he cut them--plain and simple.
The Republican Congress used to have the same collective belief. It was called the pay-go theory of government taxing and spending and resulted in a balanced budget and surplus. In this manner, Mike Huckabee epitomizes traditional Republican precepts.
I am sick and tired of negative campaigns trying to spin Mike Huckabee''s record of fiscal conservativism into something it isn''t.
If you want something different from politics as usual and a President who has the courage to do what is right for the average American, I urge you to take my challenge by visiting:

- jbrewster, please allow me to correct you on something. If you are going to use the Gurdon Times as a citation, please do not twist the facts. The article in this small weekly newspaper, dated 3/3/04 (not 3/2/04) quoted Arkansas State Sen. Percy Malone as saying "...and this is the first time in Arkansas history we had a tax increase without the support of the governor." The article goes on to say that the tax became law without the governor''s signature. If you know anything about Arkansas''s constitution, you should know that it takes a simple majority to override a governor''s veto, therefore, if the same people who voted for it the first time will vote the same way the second time, the veto is overridden. It is hard to veto a bill in Arkansas. That is why Arkansas governors chose to simply not sign a bill and allow them to become law without their signatures. It is not an uncommon practice. Again, please check your facts before commenting.

- The reporters and their cameras just happened to be there...coincidence or planned?
It''s all a part of his pathetic act to pander to the gun-slinging, evangelical hicks in Iowa and South Carolina.
Look thru is con-job, take a look at his record and see him for who he really is.... - Reply to this comment
- Should Huchabee get the Republican nomination, the Democrats would get religion, he being the answer to their prayers. In his 1992 contest with Dale Bumpers, Huckabee used campaign funds to pay himself as his own media consultant. Other payments were given to his babysitter. In 1994, he set up the Action America group so he could give speeches for money without having to disclose the names of his benefactors. He failed to report that campaign travel payments were used to finance the use of his own personal plane. He converted a governor''s mansion operating account into a personal expense account, claiming public money for a doghouse, dry-cleaning bills, panty hose and meals at Taco Bell. Inauguration funds were used to buy clothing for his wife. Friends of his and his wife set up a %u2018wedding registry%u2019 three decades after their wedding so their new home could be stocked with gifts of linens, toasters and other items. He was sanctioned five times by the Arkansas Ethics Commission. The Democrats would have a field day with this guy as the Republican nominee for President.

- The only thing Huckabee wants you to think is that he is some how qualified to be president because he used to be a baptist minister and is a so called true "Christian Leader".
Look through his "Awe Schucks" act and see him for what he really is. Mike Huckabee is a wolf in sheep''s clothing that uses the religion card to push his own agenda. - Reply to this comment
