This morning%u2019s Sunday Morning show segment on the Porn Oscars was a huge disappointment to me, having made a pleasant ritual of watching it every week with my husband for many years. Whoever was responsible for it, including Bill Geist, showed little understanding of the truly sordid character of the porn industry. Instead the point of view of the piece was a wink and a nod and isn%u2019t it cute that its performers get awards just like mainstream actors and actresses. If anyone had taken the trouble to do even cursory research on the subject they%u2019d have realized that it%u2019s the farthest thing from the sort of fun, lighthearted and/or quirky topic Bill Geist is so good at covering. A casual perusal of James Wolcott%u2019s Sept %u201905 Vanity Fair article %u201CDebbie Does Barnes & Noble%u201D wherein he summarizes several porn-star memoirs would have been enlightening about the conditions under which these films are made and the degradation that the female performers are subjected to. Consumers of porn should do so with the awareness of its demoralizing and apparently addictive effects on individuals as well as its corrupting influence on our society. In any case, my faith in Sunday Morning has been shaken - I hope it can be restored.

I am not a prude, snob, or a Frasier Crane. But I do enjoy being in the company of others who have an intellectual interest in news and the arts. I find CBS Sunday Morning to be a pleasant refuge from the shallow, obscene, and worthless programming that saturates modern television. I enjoyed Charles Kuralt, I enjoy Bill Geist, but I did not favor the piece on the sleazy gathering in Las Vegas, and I felt that it fell below the standards that Charles Osgood sets for the show. Please pursue a higher quality story, Bill. Thanks.

SundayMorning has become somewhat of a ritual for me and my wife. In the future I''m going to use that time slot for the weekly vacuuming. I am really disappointed in CBS and Charles Osgood for being associated with such a tawdry subject as the Porn Awards. Porn is not funny. It is exploitation and certainly not a subject for Sunday morning. Bill Geist''s bits are usually funny. Who thought of this? My God, get real!! I think CBS owes the viewers an apology. Fat Chance??

thm0526... get over it. Why did you watch the show if you''re are so repulsed? Accept the fact that not everyone thinks like you. My wife and I liked the story... and we support the porn industry.

Good story CBS.

I am very disappointed in the choice of "stories" you chose to air on CBS, especially on a Sunday morning. You glamorized the porn industry and passed a long a sad message to young women who are in search of a career. I spend much time trying to teach my own children and my fifth grade students that education is important, but why should any girl need an education as long as she is pretty and can give up something as precious as her body and make a career of it? While my beliefs tell me that pornography is wrong for many reasons, I do believe in the freedom of speech. I also monitor what my children view. But don''t you think you could have found a more appropriate time to air this story other than on a Sunday morning?
