Washington Post: Alaska's Governor, Former GOP VP Candidate, Has Been Forced To Deal With Campaign Trail Fallout
- COURIC: Why did the chicken cross the road?
PALIN: You know, Katie, I said thanks but no thanks to that road to nowhere. I told congress if the chicken needed a road to cross, we'd build it ourselves. As a Mayor and Governor of Alaska I have executive experience managing chicken coops. And as you know, up here in Alaska, I can see the other side of the road from my house. And when that chicken, you know, raises its head and walks across the road into, you know, our airspace then its all about reform and lower taxes. And that's why in a Palin/McCain administration, we like democracies and want freedom for all chickens. But we should never second-guess Israel if they wanted to send their chickens across the road. And it's about jobs too...jobs and chickens. - Reply to this comment

Then we have Ms Pelosi - single handly driving the US into the ground faster than anyone can imagine. I would prefer she would shut-up and retire for one. - Reply to this comment
- Oh, great! The republican "right" is asking us to expand our hate. Why? Because, it is all you know?
And about Russia.... Palin has never seen it. Even after 911, homeland security and orange alerts, the people of Russia and America can visit each other''s country without a passport...the way it should be for all countries. Peace is more easily achieved through goodwill and cooperation, not occupation and demonization. But I digress.... - Reply to this comment
- The Left may knock out Palin but Obama will have to face a Bobby Jindal. Just like the Right knocked out Hillary and ended up getting Obama. YOU LEFTIES may knock out Palin but Bobby Jindal is farther Right then you all are ready for. You guys better expand your hate because the Republicans you fail to knock out will end up knocking you guys out!

- I don''t blame the people of Alaska for being fed up. If she were the governor of my state I would at least expect her to attend to the business at hand before she goes running around telling everyone how wonderful she is. Some one needs to sit her down ad ask her what she wants to be an elected official or a TV personality.

- Maybe the next time Palin is in Washington. She will have the wisdom to watch what she says. And who she is saying it to, and about.

- To be fair, she just wasn''t prepared to run for Vice President. Governor of Alaska sure, why not. It''s not like she''s required to know anything outside of the state. I mean when Katie Couric asked her to name the news papers she reads, she looked like a deer in headlights. She should go back to counting the Russians from her front porch. I mean does she even pay attention to what people are saying to her. Like when those two disc jockeys called her with fake french accents. One of them congratulates her on her new film, nailin Palin. And she says thank you very much.????

- She was asked to ''share some of her plans and proposals for the coming legislative session?''
And her response was: "I feel like you guys are always trying to put me on the spot"

Why not really stump her and ask her what magazines she reads? - Reply to this comment
- (Newser) %u2013 Sarah Palin will have to pay income tax on the thousands of dollars she charged the state for her meals and expenses, state officials said today. As recently as December, Palin was still drawing a per diem allowance while she lived in her Wasilla home, the Anchorage Daily News reports, even after it became fodder for critics during her vice presidential bid.
In her first 19 months in office, Palin billed the state for 312 nights spent at home, receiving $60 a day, tax-free. Such allowances are supposed to be used when traveling on state business. Palin won%u2019t say how much she%u2019s on the hook for%u2014a spokeswoman called it a %u201Cprivate matter.%u201D

I wish I could figure out a way to get paid "per diem" when I am lounging around at home. Sixty bucks a day could add up, don''t ''cha know. - Reply to this comment
- She isn''t smart, she abuses her office for personal gain, she is a bad Mom and her looks are fading. 1 botox or collagen mistake and her national career is done.

- Let''s see how popular "America''s Most Popular Governor" is after 6 more months of $40 barrel oil and Alaska''s tax base dries up. It''s easy to win over voters when your state is swimming in oil money and passing out rebate checks to all the citizens for it. It is quite another thing to make the hard decisions that the other governors have to make when all the cash runs out.
I''ll be amazed is this women gets reelected, let alone last 4 weeks during a presidential primary. - Reply to this comment
- Palin needs to be placed on a melting iceberg with a polar bear. Then arm the polar bear with a concealed weapon(a republican special. Then reward the polar bear with a huge steak and berries instead of $150.00 in cash. I am sure the polar bear would find that Palin is not worth eating and the cash would not do him any good.

According to expense reports, Sarah Palin charged the state of Alaska over $21,000 for her children to travel with her on official business. In fairness to Governor Palin, when she leaves them home alone, they get pregnant.- Reply to this comment
I''m so glad that clueless Sarah is keeping an eye on the Russians.

- In an interview with Fox News, her 18-year-old daughter, Bristol, who gave birth to a son late last year, said that the decision to go ahead with her unplanned pregnancy was hers alone and that teaching abstinence to teenagers, a concept supported by her mother, is "not realistic at all."

Frankly, I''d be more inclined to vote for her daughter. - Reply to this comment
