"...Let''''s see now: one of the lowest interest rates EVER; Lowest unemployment rates for many years; less government jobs created than in any Democratic presidency...Bush will be judged by GOD, no the Demo Idiots"

What good is low interest rates when the banks aren''t lending? You have to have + credit to even get a secured loan like a mortgage, and as for unsecured loans like what you need to start a business, forget it.

Unemployment figures are meaningless, a more accurate measure is how long it takes for the average person to find a job after being laid-off, and that has grown tremendously. (and if the new job pays as well)

Fewer government jobs is a flat out lie - the military has grown tremendously under Bush - every one of those soldiers is s government employee

We aren''t judging Bush idiot - but the JOB he did, which STUNK!

What do you expect from the Washington Post, Demo idiots all the way. I will be thrilled when Obama screws up, and they won''t have anyone to blame but themselves. Let''s see now: one of the lowest interest rates EVER; Lowest unemployment rates for many years; less government jobs created than in any Democratic presidency; No other attacks in the US, except by those illegally here; MORE BLAME by Democrats (Liberals) of the Conservatives (and who has made these bad votes (Democrats of course, such as the housing crisis, that wasn''t Bush, that was the Democrats); and the Messiah hasn''t arrived, but the Anti-Christ is about to in eight days, read about it, you''ll find out the truth. Hold on to your souls, you may need to have those in about four years. OH, AND BY THE WAY, Bush will be judged by GOD, not the Demo Idiots. This post will never appear because a liberal dingbat is controlling what is said.

Tell us something we don''t know.

This is what happens when the POTUS deficit spends to pay for all his stupid programs.

A disaster of an administration by any yardstick, except tax breaks for the wealthy.

The wealthy did great under Bush.

The GOP played its F E A R card, "only we can keep you safe", and the morons of our country bought it hook, line and sinker.

The thing is, in four years, the GOP will once again play this FEAR card, and once again the faithful non-thinking soldiers will line up at the polls and cast a vote for more of this.

Utterly hopeless.

While enjoying the lowest unemployment rate in decades new jobs were still added by 2%, according to this article. Interests rates have been and still are at historical lows. The messiah promised a newfound eutopia if we the people elected him, now just eight days away I for one can''''t wait! Desp[ite the fact that greed, speculation, individuals over extending their own ability to pay, and finally the mortgage industry helping it''''s customers with these unpayable loans. For the simple it''''s much easier to focus ones hate and just blame Bush, that''''s the leftwing way.

Unfortunately, they will continue to do that until we have endured another 4 or 5 years of downtrend. Even longer if there are a few up-ticks now and then. We cant make everyone rich by taxing the businesses we work for (they will just raise prices at the store) and we cant borrow our way to prosperity unless we plan bankruptcy down the road.

machineguy,

I don''''t agree that providing equal opportunity somehow takes the edge off innovation and achievement.
What takes away from achievement is anything which disrupts the learning environment( guns at school, gangs, bored teachers, etc.).

Thomas Jefferson talked about a concept that he called the natural aristocracy. He felt that in order for democracy to work everyone should have equal opportunity to achieve unequal rank.

That''''s what''''s lacking in both pure socialism and pure capitalism. Pure socialism expects equal results. Pure capitalism accepts unequal opportunity. The beauty of our country (when it operates as it was intended)is that we promote equal opportunity but leave it up to the individual as to what they make with it once they have it.

We have a lot of common ground for understanding each other here. 1500 characters limits us. I aprove of equal access to opportunity. But I do not believe in forced equal opportunity. I can never be a weight lifter and forcing my local gym to let me workout with the big guys hurts us all. But that is how we treat education in our country. Big brains and little brains have to work out together and pass the same tests. Is it any wonder that some of the little brains end up bringing guns to equalize the competition?

It''s hard to make gains while fighting 2 wars and domestic devastating disasters.

How could one man be so ignorant though... I will never know. A child could look at the facts surrounding Iraq and know it had already been decimated during the first Gulf war and post-war sanctions.

Sometimes we are correct. How will you know? Put away the labels and consider with an open mind.

Posted by machineguy at 02:18 PM : Jan 12, 2009

Okay -- after thorough consideration with and open mind, I have concluded that the republitards have ripped-off and ruined this country.

That kind of objective reasoning, where you put all blame on one hated object, will assure that you are ripped off in any society under any government. The socialists will place you at the back of the line, the capitalists will just go around you. either way, you lose. Conservatives havent "drained this economy". But people who claimed to be conservative did. The entire government these last 8 years has been one to borrow, not develop. That eventually leads to colapse. True conservatives believe in a ballanced budget.

Your blindness seems to come from a hate for the few who did get rich these last years. But this article doesnt talk about the few, it talks about the average and the average did not get much better. Neither did the middle class. What happened this last 8 years is the rich got richer and we imported poor from Mexico.

"Once they have it", they can watch too much TV, Cable, VideoGames, Computers, Laptops, Internet, etc. and then blame the Obesity on McDonald''s Restaurant.

Once you become Rich under Capitalism, Laziness, UnProductive, Comfortable, Bored with nothing to do is The LifeStyle. Capitalism has a Built-In Mechanism to commit Self-Destruction (Suicide).

Capitalism needs a Growing Population and a Population with Big Dreams and Energy which we get only from Recent and 1st Generation Immigrants - the same group of people Americans are attempting to LockOut forever now.

From 20 January 2001 to 20 January 2009, America borrowed 7.7 Trillions.

What does one call an Empire surviving on just a Mortgage?

The way Economists determine how poor a Poor Nation is is by measuring the distance between the Richs and Poors.

Under that standard measure, America got very Poor during the last 8 years. I suppose I do not need to say this since everyone must know it except for the Super Rich.
