- You Republicans have been GETTING something for nothing for 20 years. We went into the largest debt in the history of man to make sure you got the kings slice. Now the check comes and you wag your fingers saying "We didn''t vote for this!". We''ve been screaming that you can''t do what the Bush''s and Rayguns have been doing for 25 years. You thought it was free???? Reality''s a *****.
I pity the rich. We know how to live with nothing. They can''t even put their underwear on by themselves. - Reply to this comment
- And if you do not think Capitalist love GOV, why have they all flown in private jets and been lined up with their hands out. The same folks who got us into this mess are the recipients of the biggest fleecing of America in modern day! Corporate Socialism is the biggest drain next to the war .... and that was not needed either! Idiot!

Who doesn''t like free money. These proposed loans will never be paid back and they are only the beginning.
The Auto companies just got in line first, wait until all industries try this.

- ken ... ROFLMAO. Wjere to start with your drival.
Sub Prime loans are just one part of a bigger problem, unbridled growth at any cost. You think sub prime loans are the problem of the credit crisis wait till you see the worthless investment vehicles tied to bundling credit cards and Auto loans.
Name me one thing that grows forever? Capitalism depends upon growth, but uncontrolled growth chokes everything. Banking greed was like KUDZU, growing until it choked the life out of us all.
The credit crisis was caused by greedy bankers and investors, men and women that thought the golden goose could just keep being fattened without any health risks. Growth and Greed is the Capitalist motto. That motto is the cause of the problems.
And if you do not think Capitalist love GOV, why have they all flown in private jets and been lined up with their hands out. - Change I can believe in? So far it looks like a bunch of Washington, D.C. political hacks will be joining the Obama administration.

So after two years of bashing Obama for his lack of experience, now you bash him because he''s bringing in experienced advisors. No pleasing you people is there. - Reply to this comment
- How can The Washington Post be sponsored by the Largest Oil Company in the World, with profits that embarass most Americans. The US Imports 15 Million Barrels of Oil a Day, and is not self sufficient in Oil. Too many inconsistencies. The Washington Post should be sponsored by a SME or a Consulting Firm working with Green Energy. Get REAL. I live in China, and why is their economy so strong = Harmony.

- to Ken88882: If you think the country is going to go Marxist/communist under Obama, the best move would be to send all your money and assets to me now so you can receive the most benefits. Oh, I almost forgot - those without jobs/money/assets already get benefits financed by other citizens. Never mind...

- to ghwab1949: Dude: The federal government is in debt up to its collective earlobes - they can''t keep borrowing and printing money to pay for stuff (wars, pork projects, contributor/lobbyist''s backscratching, bailouts, etc). There is no question of who will pay - the citizens of this country will pay - including the great great grandchildren of current citizens... Anyone who doesn''t want to face that tune, will have to move to a different country.

- So now the Dow has dropped below 8000. Yes, I know that a good deal of the blame here goes to the credit crisis brought about by the sub prime mortgage mess. (Blame the Democrats for this one, by the way), but what role does the election of Obama play here? None, you think? Well try to think a little more.
In about eight weeks we''re going to coronate a new president that is clearly not in love with capitalism. Barack Obama wrote of his flirtations with Marxism during his college years. He gravitated to Marxist professors and hung around student gatherings where Marxist literature was sold. His campaign rhetoric parroted may Marxist maxims.
Now you may not like this .. and I''ll probably get some of those silly "Obama''s been elected, get over it" emails. How many of you remember any pro-capitalism statements from Obama during the campaign? Did you hear him praise the role of business and entrepreneurs in the American economy? If he said it, I sure didn''t hear it.
So give me just one good reason why a capitalist - an investor, a business owner, or an entrepreneur - should feel positive about the upcoming Obama presidency? This is going to be a presidency for people who love and worship government. If we could sell stock in the federal government I''m sure the analysts would be giving it a strong buy recommendation right now. - Reply to this comment
- What''s up with all these leaks? There should be no reason for this, and anyone found to be a source should be fired right away. The campaign had shown great discipline, and if those who are now in the group are unable to keep their mouths shut, they should not be in the group, because they have no loyalty and discipline for this group. Can''t the top brass do something about this before it becomes a larger problem??

- Change I can believe in? So far it looks like a bunch of Washington, D.C. political hacks will be joining the Obama administration. The only change was the inevitable one, a different person will sit in the Oval Office. It is all about putting no. 1 first, Obama watching out for himself after his glib but vacuous campaign. Taxes will go up for everybody. The national government will get bigger. It was Obama, Pelosi and Reid who wanted to bail out the automakers, not those who believe in free markets and limited government.
