Unions are an employees excuse to be lazy it allows someone to say that is no my job and if it is not in their job description they have no reason to learn it.

Posted by Mccain08nc at 02:54 PM : Nov 10, 2008

Just like the guys with the white shirt and tie get rid of about 30 million salaried employees or cut their pay and make them learn to multi task and put a cap on CEO''s, CFO, etc pay as you advocate

Would that be all right with you Mr. Know it all?

United Auto Workers get over $30.00 in pay and benefits, while average workers in America make little over $10.00 in pay in no benefits. I don''''''''t want the government to bailout Ford, GM and Chrsyler so they can produce cars Americans don''''''''t need during this "GREAT DEPRESSION"!!! All of us should not be bailing out Democratic Unions and thugs!!! Let them go to China and compete with the rest of the world in this GLOBAL Economy!!!

Posted by scb1111_1 at 02:07 PM : Nov 10, 2008

Stop ******** about what others make, the majority of American workers make more than $10 per hour, it''s actually about $15 per hour.

Look around, your benefit package, vacations, were all modeled after what union workers got. You might also want to check what non union workers make at Toyota or Honda or Nissan, it''s pretty close to what the UAW makes. The advantage the "imports" have is newer plants, many times paid for with "incentives" that the states and Federal Government gave them. You might also want to take a hard look at what the average age is at the import plants and the advantage it gives them with health insurance etc:

Big shock not

U Republicans have always been anti US worker rights, living wage, health care benefits, pension fund etc, instead you want cheap labor ala third world working conditions so the top tier folks can own six homes two private jets, thirty cars illegal alien care takers etc

You''re part of the problem and you don''t even know it

Ford, GM and Chrsyer will need over 1 trillion dollars to continue operation in America. Bush understand that and is not going to waste the US Taxpapers money. They will eventually go to China to compete in the GLOBAL markets. Why use non-union workers that make lest than $12.00 and no benefits tax money to give to Union Workers like the UAW who make over $30.00 in pay and benefits??? No Way, NO How!!!

Take your anti US worker rants to the next illegal immigration rally

You traitor

China has already offer to re-make Ford, GM and Chrsyler into an "Global" car company without the United Auto Workers" and their union. They will not go out of business, they have already started operations in China. They will just close operation in the US!!!

Posted by scb1111_1 at 02:36 PM : Nov 10, 2008

Republicans rolling over for communist China big surprise not

Another GOP tactic and part of US history, busting unions in favor of cheap labor ala the amnesty bill and invasion of over 20 million illegal aliens the last eight years under the Bush Admin

But I don''''t agree that we need to root for american auto makers to fail because unlike you I take a lot pride in my 3 dodges I own and would not trade them for any little foreign ***** box.

I''m NOT rooting for it to happen, but if it does, we''ll survive. I am totally opposed to bailing out mis-managed companies, even if they are home-grown. Like yourself, I have purchased american crs right up until this year; I bought a Honda Accord back in July to go along with an Oldsmobile (that is no longer being produced).

Maybe so but republicans aren''''t pushing a bill that would take away the blind ballot for allowing unions in business. It is the Democrats that want to walk all over the process of a fair vote.

Posted by Mccain08nc at 02:33 PM : Nov 10, 2008

You can''t have it both ways you either support US manufacturing companies or you don''t

Regardless of what party you belong to

Obama''s Admin wants to help US auto makers the Bush Admin hasn''t done one positive thing for middle class American''s that''s a fact

I agree they should have let the idiots that wanted to have the unions go on strike and hire what they "Scabs" at a fair rate and continue doing business in a profitable way. So I don''''t know what the cure is let them fail and put millions of americans out of work or bail them out and let the govern ment pay the rediculous wages the auto workers get.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Assume that Ford and GM go broke. Americans are still going to buy cars. That neans that Nissan, Honda and Tyota would have to make up the diffrerence in manufacturing. All of them have plants in the US. The experienced workers would have to move where the jobs are, but eventually most of the skilled workers would find a job with a company that will stay in business. It would be a long transition, but america will survive it and become stronger.

Over 80% of small-businesses in a post-election survey stated that an Obama''''''''s Administration will be the "most" ANTI-business President in American History. Most see that over 60% of businesses will be closed before the end of his first term, with over 15 million more American Workers unemployed!!!
