Washington Post: Revelations About "Joe The Plumber" Following Debate Reveal Downside Of Moment In Spotlight
- As Obama gets closer and closer to victory, the lies will get worse and worse. We need to stand up to these lies and not let them go unchallenged. Obama and Biden are good and honorable men. McCain is a little confused and Palin is just plain awful. Vote for Obama.

- Joe, Obama just wants to make those making over 250,000 pay their fair share and to do away with the unfair tax breaks they received in recent times---which favored the rich and made the middle class pay more. The rich used to pay a more fair share and there is no reason they shouldn''t again. But I''ve always learned that nothing can seperate me from my good---except me. For all problems, there is a solution, we need only get quiet and really get honest with ourselves. And I honestly believe that Obama and Biden can lead us to prosperity and peace. The middle class can once again make us a great nation.

- For all of you shaming Obama about poor old Joe the Plumber... it was MCCAIN that put him at the top of the media mudslide. Erratic leaders develop erratic followers and that is the main problem with America today. United we stand, Divided we fall ring a bell? Perhaps if all the energy that is spent coming up with the next slam was put into something positive our country wouldn''t be in the mess that it is today. Never did like finger pointers much. I was taught there are three more pointing back at you.

Hey, I see you recovered well enough to drop mr22585 as your "partner" to "engaqe" yourself with suckit123. How appropriate for you both. Not only by login names, but the innuendoes it suggests of the kind of relationship you both share. - Reply to this comment
- McCain must be new to political campaigns!
It did not dawn upon him that if he went on television before 50,000,000+ people mentioning "Joe The Plumber" and told his story about "Joe" wanting to buy the business he has worked so hard in for all these years. 10 and 12 hour days, but "Joe" simply asked Obama a question and found by the answer that he could not afford to buy it because of Obama''s tax plan,,,, etc etc etc.
Gee and golly. Mc Cain just had no idea that telling the story,,,identifying Joe by name, would make people curious. That HIS action would assure that reporters would want to talk to "Joe."
McCain says it is Obama caused this fame for "Joe."
I am very saddened by Senator McCain. He is SO "bitten by the Presidential bug" as lincoln called it, that he did not even bother to get Joes last name right.
At least when he jumped on his Vice Presidential selection he did use the right last name.
I host a talk radio program. A year ago I said McCain was the lone Republican I might consider voting for.
I said that was because I believed so strongly ion his ethics, I would consider him even though I disagree on many of his specific proposals.
Since then, he has swung very far to the right and flipped on even the ideas I could agree with AND lost his moral rudder. (But having read what many of those who associated with him from the 1960''s on believe, I think that rudder may have been a fabrication too.) - Reply to this comment
- "His motives for confronting Sen. Barack Obama at a campaign stop in his neighborhood earlier this week are the subject of intense Internet speculation."
He is Karl Rove''s GOP shill. It''s really not that hard to see (except maybe for the FOX NOISE channel)... - Reply to this comment

AKA, not having to spend so much on the military.

How about that, one myth has spawned another! ronnie was only a bit player in the fall of the USSR. All he did do was balloon the deficit with military spending, among other things. His contribution to the national debt was record, along with record increases in taxes. - Reply to this comment
- So is "Joe" Wurzelbacher related to Keatings son-in-law? I like the part where Addled John doesn''t ever check the ramifications of his lack of strategy and thoroughness.

- I see that SUCKIT, james, and oleander have deserted their holier-than-thou positions, after teaming up on medmom. well good riddance. I am also, like medmom, SICK of listening to folks like these three, who self-proclaim who should belong to their party, who is from the U.S. and who isn''t, all because they have different ideals that they clearly developed in the gutters out front of their white trash homes. you three sicken me. be forewarned of Jamesm, SUCKIT, and oleander8. these three are trolls, looking for folks to attack, and have never once engaged in intelligent banter. no one else will listen to them, so they come here, squat and $H!T.

- oleander8 & james-who-never-posts-anything-worth-reading,
don''t like medmom, eh? she''s more intelligent than either of you two slugs. oleander, you think you''re a great liberal? all elitist and snotty like a pig? no wonder medmom was heated today, and she NEVER is on these blogs where you pigs roast, but having to deal with jacks like you would make anyone steam. YOU are the one who taints the liberal image, oleander. back to your coffee shop with you! and james, oh james, anyone familiar with your mouth knows easily what a hole you are. you two mouthy weasles have some nerve attacking anyone. medmom has shown she''s much wiser than either of you snakes. - Reply to this comment

Clinton under pressure from the Republican House had us on a good track.
That got F--- UP after 911 when Bush would give the democratic House anything to get them to go along with him on the War against Radical Muslims.

- Poor Joe the Plumber.
Oh, McCain, there you go again. No one is buying your schtick anymore. As an everyman''s psychologist, I recognize the behavior as "projecting" your feelings, thoughts, behaviors and attitudes onto your opponent or rival. Either you''re in love with Obama or Palin. Must you make your lovely wife sit by and watch this public spectacle of your poor gamesmanship?
YOU are the one who kept bringing up Joe the Plumber, Joe the Plumber, Joe the Plumber....ad nauseum. At least, ad audience nauseum...til we were sick of hearing the same refrain.
You picked a bad target here, and not for the first time, of course. A little vetting and reading by your "trusted staff" of which you are so proud might have saved Joe his job (ok, so he''s practicing plumbing without even a learner''s permit---what can happen, a neighborhood flood? a gas leak that blows the place up??) and pride.
Nice going, jerk. - Reply to this comment

- McCain''s choice to invoke "Joe the Wannabe Plumber" during the debate reminds me of his poor judgment to pick Palin as VP.
Not only did the Wanna-be plumber plan back fire, but we now know that he is also a deadbeat taxpayer - Reply to this comment
- gctomajtom.....Come on man, this is not the media''s fault. Whenever you put yourself out there in the public eye you can expect that people will want to know who you are. This guy is pathetic. He is the one who jumped into the dog fight and now you''re whining because he got bit. To call him an average Joe is stretching the truth a little. I''m an average Joe but I pay my taxes and kept up my certification during my career. When you take a closer look at "Joe" and listen to what McCain says it is obvious that the republicans are using this guy. Desperate times call for desperate measures and McCain is desperate. What will they come up with next?

looks like joe the plumber will soon be known as ''joe the unemployed'' ... once his boss realizes how much trouble he''s created by trying to be a ''good republican sheeple''. - Reply to this comment
- It is interesting that McCain embraces this liar in his efforts to push lies of his own.
Too bad.
They both need to get straight again.
