Actually those two facts are constitutionally significant. To be Prez or VP, there are three constitutional requirements. The person must be born in USA, at least 35, and must have lived in the USA for at least 14 years.
That is all that is needed to make someone eligible for the White House but voters shouldn''''t base their vote on whether someone satisfies those criteria. Charles Manson meets those criteria!
What makes someone qualified to be President is their knowledge, judgment, patriotism and morals. We know McCain is patriotic as he has proven it all throughout his life. We know he has good judgment as he was one of the few supporters of the surge that turned Iraq from defeat to victory. We know he has good economic judgment as he was one of the only Senators in 2005 to voice concern about Freddie Mae and Fannie Mac.
We dont know much about Obama''''s patriotism other than that he has never served in the military and he is friends with an anti-American pastor and a terrorist that bombed the Pentagon.
We know Obama has poor military judgment because he opposed the troop surge. If Obama had his way we would have cut and run and left Iraq with our tails between our legs. Instead, we stayed and created a prosperous pro-American ally in the heart of the middle east. - Reply to this comment

The republicans have had 6 years of blank checks and uncontroled spending and not its all catching up with the Bush Administration.
FYI StormyTexan: For the first 6 years of Bushies Presidency he DID NOT VETO a single spending bill, Bushie has spent more $$$$ then all the other Presidents put together.
