Comments on: Palin Pick Energizes GOP Base
Washington Post: Activists Say Socially Conservative Voters More Likely To Turn Out, Campaign Actively For Ticket
- I disagree about Palin being a Bush clone. I think she actually believes what she says. Cheney and Rummy put a chip in Bush''s brain but it was poorly programmed. That''s why we get all this garbled language coming out of his mouth.

- McCain''s running mate spent most of her life as a member of a church where people speak in tongues and roll around on the floor; plus she still has ties to it, even using public money to give a graduation speech at an Assembly of God. Sarah is a female clone of Bush. As for me, I want a separation of church and state but these Republicans are all for a theocracy. Palin read a speech off the teleprompter written by others and she has a pretty face and now Republicans are all gaga over McCain who doesn''t offer one new thing over Bush. He wants to stay in Iraq, keep low taxes for the rich, and pretends that he is going to balance the budget. What a con!

- The more I hear about the Alaskan governor, the less I like her. What a strange choice. They get the conservative base but erase any promise of having an environmental platform to run on. She opposed protecting the Polar Bear, because its protection threatens the less-endangered oil and gas industry. What is it about evangelicals that are pro-life and anti-environment?
Leave it to Gary Busey to find a loophole around the Endangered Species act.

- "Everything was pretty lackluster," said Earl Hall, the volunteer representative for Surry, who is far more excited now that Palin''s in the picture: "She''s right good-looking -- that''s all I need to know................................................

- RE: "A for victory in Afghanistan". Come again? The war in Afghanistan is speeding steadily back to where we started in key regions of the country AND Pakistan. Looks to me like we should have put a little more effort toward that one instead of fulfilling the Wolfowitz Prophecy in Iraq. That''s okay, we won''t miss our 1-3 trillion dollars.

The moron-in-chief is helping McSame by NOT appearing with him. He must have prayed for that hurricane last week, which gave him the excuse not to appear at the pigs convention.

18c6 -- Be real dude. Look at the world for the way it really is. Whether a Dem or a Repub is in office, the world is what is is.
Having said that, the oil conglomerates are gonna make money no matter who occupies the white house as long as they have the means (money), to influence votes.
If you are so concerned about America (if you even live in this country), then vote your concience.
The bottom line for me are these issues:
1. Keep my taxes as low as they can be and put pressure on the liberal thought proceses of taking God out of everything...
2. Dont vote someone in the whitehouse that has the influence to grant abortion rights
3. Finish the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and let''s get outta there with a victory and new friends around the world.
4. Keep my right to bear arms and defend myself
5. Protect the country to his best ability
6. Put pressure on rogue nations via military strikes if necessary, etc....
And 7., force (through torture and waterboarding if necessary) the liberal media to report objectively as does Foxnews. - Reply to this comment

Her critics like to say that Palin hasn''t accomplished anything. I disagree: in the space of ten days she''s succeeded in distracting the entire country from the horrific Bush record -- and McCain''s complicity in it. My friends, that''s accomplishment we can believe in.
Just look at the problem John McCain faced. George Bush has a disastrous record, and the country knows it. John McCain -- the current one, not the one who vanished eight years ago -- has no major disagreements with George Bush (and I''m sorry, wanting to fire Donald Rumsfeld a bit sooner doesn''t qualify) and wants to continue his incredibly unpopular policies for another four years. The solution? Enter Sarah Palin, a Trojan Moose carrying four more years of disaster.- Reply to this comment

- I doubt Palin knows more about polar bears than anyone else, but I can guarantee you that her eyes light up when you mention "oil."
Posted by sun247
no, she''s not the polar bear maven, but she doesn''t go to a zoo to see them. As far as oil, her eyes should light up when you talk about oil. Alaska has the largest oil reserves in the United States. - Reply to this comment

- Barracudas and humans...
Like sharks, barracudas have long had a bad reputation as being dangerous to humans. Barracudas have been observed following snorkelers and scuba divers across a reef, which can make one feel uncomfortable, but they are harmless unless provoked.
Being formidable hunters, they should be respected, as barracudas are perfectly capable of defending themselves against humans that harass them.
Go!! Go!! Barracuda Sarah!!!
If what you (Sarah) and Senator McCain are saying is the truth and you will stand up to the Washington do nothing crowd. Being seperate thinkers able to make positive change for this country and it''''s citizens.
Then I know many will come aboard and support your efforts. Politics has to change and become a helping hand to those in need. Also a hand up to those who are forward visionaries.
We need to set aside petty issues and concentrate on what will bring respect and honor back to the presidency. Other nations are watching and waiting to see what happens in this election. Will we show them our strength (unity) or our weakness (confusion & division). - Reply to this comment
Palin is a religious nut who has been in an extreme end-times cult since she was 12.- Reply to this comment
