Washington Post: Top Strategist Says News Organizations Are "On A Mission To Destroy" Palin
- The Republicans are also using any excuse to claim that something said about Palin is an attack on her gender. On CNN I saw James Carville say in an interview that she had no foreign policy experience only to be accused by some stupid Republican Congresswoman of an attack on Palin''s gender.
They are on a hair trigger for these accusations. The Republicans learned long ago that it doesn''t matter if something actually occurs, if they say it did loud enough and long enough, the public will beleive them. - Reply to this comment

- McCain also canceled a scheduled appearance on CNN''s "Larry King Live" on Tuesday in retaliation for an interview a day earlier in which prime-time host Campbell Brown repeatedly pressed campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds to provide one example of a decision that Palin had made as commander of the Alaska National Guard.
I saw this interview. It was a fair question. What McCain didn''t like is that Bounds did what all the politicans do and avoided the question twice thinking that Brown would give up. When she insisted that he answer the question McCain got mad. Why should he be mad that she insisted on an answer to the question? And how is that an unfair question?
Here is the Republican strategy: Demonize the press so that the only questions that will be acceptable are softball questions. Things like "what is your favorite color?". Anything that even comes close to a real question will be called an attack. - Reply to this comment

- If the Republicans can''''t stand the heat, they are invited to leave the kitchen. If they want Palin''''s family to be off-limits - why are they parading them around at the convention? And now they have brought the boyfriend to the convention as well. They are using Palin''''s evangelical, large family, and gender to gather support -- This makes them fair-game! When other politicians want their families privacy respected - they keep them out of the political spotlight.

- Sen. John McCain''s top campaign strategist accused the news media Tuesday of being "on a mission to destroy" Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin by displaying "a level of viciousness and scurrilousness" in pursuing questions about her personal life.
---
This is the same crapola we heard from the Clinton campaign whenever unflattering news was reported.
McCain, like Hillary, seems to think the media owes them a free pass or serves to only deliver press releases.
If anything unflattering (which we have a right to know as well as the flattering which the campaigns generate) is reported, the press is in an "attack" mode according to them.
Ridiculous. - Reply to this comment
- Soon as the old f a r t picked Palin, the press starts digging. Doesn''t matter who you are. You want a private life, don''t get into politics. Be a librarian or work at a zoo. Which part of that don''t you understand? Whining & crying about the merciless media spotlight being focused on you. Are they making this stuff up? If they are, let me hear the truth. If not grin & bear it. The fun''s just started.
She''s on the national stage now. She''s not just a relatively unknown Governor of a state with barely 700,000 people anymore. Alaskans love her. You can see why. Alaskan Indepndence Party! Yee hah! "Morning Joe" Scarborough (R) had never heard of her.
I think he killed his chances picking Palin. This is going to hurt him. Nothing good can come of this. Maybe the old geezer thought he was being his "maverick" self.
Whatever helps Obama win.

- None of the democrats I know were complaining about the critiques for Obama''s VP pick. I wasn''t too happy with Biden myself, and after all when you''re in the public eye the media will scrutinize your every move. Personally I''d prefer someone a little more liberal for the Democrat VP.
But after John (More of the same) Mccain announced that Palin was his VP pick, I was immediately thankful for Biden, and I realized that Obama could have done a lot worse with his choice. - Reply to this comment
- The supermarket tabloid also deals with the pregnancy of Palin''s 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, which the governor acknowledged Monday. The tabloid quotes an insider as saying that the governor wanted to announce that Bristol was expecting and had set a wedding date before McCain went public with his vice-presidential choice. But, the story says, the baby''s father, high school student Levi Johnston, balked at the plan.
LOL! It sure sounds like the redneck wants to get married. - Reply to this comment

- When the money''s on the table
the TV networks will belong to McCain.
This period here is just to relax the Dems.
(Just like Bob Scheiffer during the Kerry,
Bush debate asking the only question
that Bush wanted asked:
"Mister Bush, How does RELIGION figure
into your,,,,,,,,")
"Sneaky-smile Bob."

Their silly plan is to act like they are the victims. Unbelievable, but true. Palin actually went to the media and reported that her daughter was pregnant. I am still amazed that a mother would do this to her daughter. But the reason is clear. They knew that bloggers would call her on her hypocrisy of beliefs, and they so hoped to play out as her daughter being attacked. It is a political game in which that psychotic woman has not shame at all.
Never, would I expose my children''s private lives to further my ambitions. What person is that awful? Say hello to Miss Congeniality. - Reply to this comment

- Why is the rape question completely ignored?....
Under Alaska statutory rape laws, if Bristolbaby was conceived while she was 16 then the father has to be either 16 or 17. If not then a FELONY has been committed.
If the father was 15 or younger, then the sexually active Bristol is the guilty party REGARDLESS of consent. If the father is 18 or older then HE is guilty of felony statutory rape REGARDLESS of consent.
When, EXACTLY, is Bristol''s date-of-birth and when, EXACTLY, is the babydaddy''s date-of-birth?
The answer to these two simple questions could either clear up or complicate this issue.
Why is this not addressed?
I tried to find out Bristol and Levi''s birthdays but no luck.
Of course, the Governor could issue a pardon to either one - Reply to this comment

- ndpindent-ru,
The left wing is obsessed with their own agenda. They don''''t care about your family - just their own ideology. If you don''''t follow their ideology, you are their enemy. And actually, the entire US public is the enemy of socialism. The Democrats are selling the failed ideology of the USSR, China, and North Korea. We are not so gullible.
Uh, get your facts straight....we have become the biggest socialist country on Earth under the Bushie babies term.... - Reply to this comment
