If you look past New Orleans and track Gustav''s path, it looks as if God may be trying to teach the GOP a little something about WATERBOARDING!

Is this a show of GOP "compassionate conservatism" or a "kinder, gentler nation?" Delay the convention?

Those are just gimmicks, like the GOP itself.

The truth of what the GOP is and stands for can be seen in the fact that it''s 3 years since hurricane Katrina and the people of New Orleans have been abandoned by the Bush Administration.

Maybe all those fleeing Gustav should come up to St Paul, MN, to stay in the convention center while the storm passes.

Michael Moore, the self-aggrandizing Democrat laughs that Gustav is on its way to destroying people''s lives.

Moore no more!

He is despicable.

To the TV preacher guy that said, "pray for rain" before the Democratic Convention:

The good Lord answers our prayers in his own way, in his own time.

This was what they wish should happened to Obama but God intervened. Now it is McCain turn to face the music.

"So the Republicans might delay on account of Gustav, eh?
Kind of surprising...as stingy and mean-spirited as they are, I am amused that they would share their desire to destroy America - even with a hurricane.

Ha ha ha, confusing Micheal Moore for a Republican. Man, you are an id1ot!

Proof that liberals don''t give a *** about the poor, except to score political points.

"Michael Moore: Hurricane Coming During GOP Convention ''''Proof There Is a God in Heaven''''

%u201CI was just thinking, this Gustav is proof that there is a God in heaven,%u201D Moore said, laughing. %u201CTo have it planned at the same time that it would actually be on its way to New Orleans for day one of the Republican Convention, up in the Twin Cities at the top of the Mississippi River.%u201D"

And notice how this time, the stupid Dems in NOLA are actually USING the plans that are in place, rather than ignore them like they did in Katrina? Now the truth comes out. It shows faking Nagin ignored ALL the warning he got for Katrina. The plans are there, have been for years. Now we know that all the blame lies squarely on the Democrat politicains of LA.

even weirder: media-savvy people tell me that you announce something before a long weekend if you want to bury it, not if you want media attention.

In fact it is strangely quiet: normally the party spin and noise machine would be in high gear to get momentum from the announcement going into the convention. But there seems to be a stunned silence. And talk of delaying the convention.

"PALIN WAS NOT VETTED."

all your points are good and valid. It is amazing this could happen on a major campaign. Is it possible McCain was fed up with being handled and packaged and arranged a little surprise announcement for Rove and the boys? Kind of an assertion of the maverick, in a passive-aggressive, shoot-yourself-in-th-foot way.

How Hilarious. Nutball Dobson prays for rain on the Convention of the Evil Party. God has answered his prayer and will smite down the Evil Party Convention.

McCain''s first big executive decision: Selecting Palin to be his VP.

He really thinks his voters are stupid.

Can we all agree that we love moms, God and country! What hat trick do the Republicans have left??? To claim motherhood as a Republican value?? Really? I love my mom, but she''s not experienced to be President. She was PTA president and a city councilwoman. She has as much executive experience as Palin, but neither of them should be in charge of the military, the budget or anything remotely close to national security matters.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT OBAMA, BUT THE PROMISE THAT WE CAN BE BETTER. WE ARE NOT MESMERIZED, WE ARE HERE WITH EYES WIDE OPEN TO THE FAILED POLICIES OF 8 YEARS OF CONSERVATIVE LEADERSHIP WHOSE ONLY PURPOSE SEEMS TO BE TO BRING RELIGION INTO GOVERNMENT.
