Einstein clarified his religious views in a letter he wrote in response to those who claimed that he worshipped a Judeo-Christian god: "It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal god and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it."[54][55] In his book The World as I See It, he wrote: "A knowledge of the existence of something we cannot penetrate, of the manifestations of the profoundest reason and the most radiant beauty, which are only accessible to our reason in their most elementary forms%u2014it is this knowledge and this emotion that constitute the truly religious attitude; in this sense, and in this alone, I am a deeply religious man."[56]

So why are''t they (Elections Commision) investigating why a non-voter making only middle class bucks supposedly donated $2500 or so to McCain. Obviously it is a fraud where people are paid a bribe so as to donate under their name. I thought McCain took only government financing.

The system is a fraud.

I don''''t mean to rain on your little hate Israel parade...frankly I never bought the God''''s chosen people thing either...I could write a book that says God chose me to have all of Texas...

Religion isn''''t about believing in myths, or fairy tales, or voo doo....

It''''s about having a credo by which one lives in respect and harmony with others!

Without such credo, we are merely animals.

But to get back to your hate Israel thing...I do believe that they have a right to exist in peace! And I think it is pretty arrogant of both the Jews and the Arabs that they can''t share that land and enjoy it together instead of trying to kill each other over a bunch of religious relics...

Didn''''t there used to be something about how this country was amazing and different from the crown because even a poor or common man could become President. Did one of our country''''s forefathers write something to that efffect? I seem to have that in my mind.

Yes, they did. As evidenced by Abe Lincoln and a few presidents that weren''t members of the elite!

But I have never had blinders about my country, the very nature of its beginnings are elitest since we stole it from another several peoples! lol

In a letter to Eric Gutkind in 1954 Einstein said: "The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish."[62] In the same letter, Einstein rejected the idea that the Jews are God''''s chosen people: "For me the Jewish religion like all others is an incarnation of the most childish superstitions. And the Jewish people to whom I gladly belong and with whose mentality I have a deep affinity have no different quality for me than all other people. As far as my experience goes, they are no better than other human groups, although they are protected from the worst cancers by a lack of power. Otherwise I cannot see anything ''''chosen'''' about them."[62]

I find the obscene amount of money being spent on these primaries and elections as sickening!

Each candidate could mail out a brochure speaking to the issues and outlining their plans. We could see them in action in a couple of debates, check out their backgrounds and voting history, and select a candidate!

This whole process is obnoxious!

Hey, I''''ve seen people doing lots worse than that in the middle of the street!

At holiday time, I love the lights and festivities. My holiday starts the week of Thanksgiving and lasts til January. Its what I call the holiday season. I don''''t care that it was a Celtic holiday before the Christians chose to capalize on that date in an effort to bring to over shadow the Pagans. I still love the season. As much as I might enjoy the display though, I believe Government facilities should remain totally neutral in their displays.

Highly suspicious and highly irregular, but knowing how the rePUBIC-CON party works, that doesn''''t surprise me. We''''ll probably learn half those checks came from this oil tycoon using shill names and shill checking accounts.

It''s not a republicCON thing, it''s also a democRAT thing also! Obscamma already found that same loophole MONTHS ago!

Harry Sargeant III, a former naval officer and the owner of an oil-trading company "

That says it all.

"Some of the most prolific givers in Sargeant''s network live in modest homes in Southern California''s Inland Empire. Most had never given a political contribution before being contacted by Sargeant or his associates. Most said they have never voiced much interest in politics. And in several instances, they had never registered to vote. And yet, records show, some families have ponied up as much as $18,400 for various candidates between December and March. "

Highly suspicious and highly irregular, but knowing how the rePUBIC-CON party works, that doesn''t surprise me. We''ll probably learn half those checks came from this oil tycoon using shill names and shill checking accounts.

When I lived on the farm down home, there was an Islamic mosque just over the mountain, and I could see the tower peak out over the top...many times I could hear the Islamic call to prayer, and it was so beautiful ringing out over the hills it would almost bring tears to your eyes.

To NOT appreciate those things that bring joy to others is ISOLATIONIST bull *****, not democracy!

Everybody knows the corporates are investing in every campaign to keep their arse covered!

The only ONE pretending they''''re not taking advantage of it is Barak Hussein Obscamma!

Posted by WellHell3 at 08:17 PM : Aug 06, 2008
............

And that very public (though fake) rejection of corporate/special interest campaign donations seems to be successful in fooling most of the people... most of the time!

Granted, some politicians are sincere in their claims. But those who are, never get more than single-digit results in the primaries, or even much coverage by the main-stream media. (How sad it has become of our political system in America).

Why must it be exclusion rather than inclusion. I am neither Christian, nor Jewish and I appreciate both cultures as well as many others. If you are secure in you''''re own beliefs in that regard, why not consider it exposure rather than an assault. Not that I do not feel assaulted frequently, but not by those sorts of things.

Exactly! I find it tremendously uplifting to see a Menorah in somebody''s window!

And frankly I think the Islalmic call to prayer is beautiful!

Yet, Jimfister doesn''t want to HAVE to appreciate me singing Amazing Grace at the top of my lungs because it offends his little sensibilities!

I think that is quite a stretch.

Who does get to choose?

Posted by IrishWench

Exactly! The Muslim does not get to choose over the Christian. And it is a little messy to give everyone equal time.

That is why we leave the religion out of public places.

Doesn''''t work that way, Sir. A Christmas tree is a harmless object that hurts no one!

A dead fetus in a jar is dead, and only the insane would take joy in it.

Posted by WellHell3

It is about the right to be free from the religion of others. You should not have to look at a fetus or Buddhist statue or anything of the kind in a public space. And people of other religions should not have to look at your religious symbol, the xmas tree. Get it?

Jimfister''s little sensibilities would be hurt at the sight of a Christmas tree that brings some people joy!

He wants to put a jar with a dead fetus in it beside it to prove up some dumb logic he''s trying to bull ***** me with.
