Washington Post: Illinois Senator Is Mounting The Most Prodigious Presidential Effort The State Has Seen

Over 70% of our National Debt was created by just 3 Republican presidents.
2) Real middle class wage growth is double when a Democrat is president compared to when a Republican is president.
3) 90% of Americans would pay less taxes under Obama''''''''s proposed tax plan compared to McCain''''''''s.
Countless millions of Americans vote Republican because they believe they''''''''ll pay less taxes and that they''''''''ll have their money spent more responsibly. As you can see, those beliefs are directly contradicted by the facts. Of course we can choose to ignore the facts and instead focus on which candidate is wearing a flag pin (you ever notice that McCain doesn''''''''t wear them?

- This makes a lot more sense to me than McSame''s trip to Sturgis to talk in front of a large gathering of Harley riders. I guess he must been desperate for a "captive audience"..I mean to go to Sturgis and of all places the Cow Chip Campground to find voters??!! Oh my the Christian right are going to go nuts. Here''s a quote from a reporter that was there "This year, the bikers, strippers and rockers were joined by a most unlikely guest: the presumptive Republican nominee for president, John McCain." Got bad news for McSame...most bikers are not racists, where enlisted, not officers in Vietnam..and unfortunately their brothers in arms were killed not put in the Hanio Hilton and released after the war!! I don''t see much reporting about this event yet on the media. Must not have gone so well. Poor McSame..he just doesn''t get it.

- its all taken care of by the Government with out tax dollars, guess when you in need any of those SERVICE... you will promptly refuse them, after all they are SOCIALIST.

Ridiculous. The reason we don''t need to refuse emergency services is that we already pay... and we CANT refuse to pay or else we get attacked. The silly notion that "we need socialism because look there are necessary services" is really bogus. When the Soviets grew food, they could say to the citizen "without us, who would grow the food."
Service that "are necessary" are not the same as "necessarily provided by government". It is foggy thinking that has turned liberals into welfare-babies, and given war-criminal Republicans (and Democrat war-sympathizers) the upper hand. - Reply to this comment

Obama''s lead in the electoral college is still huge and McCain''s job becomes more insurmountable by the day.
No reason for a meltdown at all. - Reply to this comment
- *Obama isn''''t leading by ten or fifteen points because of the same concerns that the public had about past Democratic presidential nominees Michael Dukakis, Al Gore, and John F. Kerry: that they were weak leaders. Obama is a weak prospective leader. He will lose big.*

- It seems like General Obama is badly outflanking the military man across the map.
McCain''s public funding vs. the Obama internet army is not going to be much of a match. Obama has an highly organized army of unpaid volunteers who will go anywhere between now and election day to get out the message and the vote.
He also has the money to run ads in every relatively competitive state which McCain will not be able to match.
If you think McCain is Mcnasty now, wait til the last 2 weeks before election day! - Reply to this comment
- Folks get a grip Obama%u2019s campaign is all about the race card just like Bush he is tapping into a under represented fearful angry demographic in the County to turn them out inflame their passions and integrate the electorate with the new non white collective majority that believes they have been oppressed held back in a white world.. The problem is Clinton didn%u2019t call him on it and stood by playing the Party growth sing along while he and the DNC used powerful white people as their foil make no mistake, you just aren%u2019t hearing the dog whistle the CODE cause it%u2019s not intended for your ears, that%u2019s why Obama all of a sudden found policy%u2019s to discuss instead of himself this week, but denial is a bad trait even on a Donkey. Where the Dem Party is no destroyed is they anointed him by cheating not on the merits that was unnecessary and wrong and why his nomination is not the celebration it could have been. Ugly dumb lazy that has harmed the country and escalated division in our communities by inflaming anger fear and hate between these demographics. We all have a role here as McCain did, call the Democrats on this platform of hate and divisiveness they are wrapping in racism and Bush et al used Values. This stuff is rancid lazy cheap and inflames violence don''t play their game we have a country that needs good governace for all.

- Those long nights got the Alaskan Repubs in trouble. Besides Ted Stevens, five Alaska state legislators: Sen. John Cowdery (R-Anchorage), Senate President Ben Stevens (R-Anchorage) (son of US Senator Ted Stevens), Rep. Vic Kohring (R-Wasilla), Rep. Bruce Weyhrauch (R-Juneau), and Rep. Pete Kott (R-Eagle River) have been served some 20 search warrants by the FBI.

- Bottom line- Obama is always doing something for attention- whether campaiging in another country - going to a state that is, with all due respect not as relevant as others, not going to see wounded troops, and changing positions as often as changing his kids diapers, Obama prefers the hot spotlight to hide the true empty promises that he stands for. Between the two wives, Cindy has sons in the military and it does matter in the end to understand what it means to be a leaders wife, a true companion, and a true patriot.

- Man, I am loving this. Alaska has always been a bassturd child for the republicans, they just assumed they would get their vote because they''re related. The voters of Alaska are a pretty independent lot, and they know they''ve been abused by the republicans. I don''t know if Obama will carry this state, but if McCain doesn''t defend it, he could well lose it. Smart move Obama!
