minuteman-1,
i''m not basing anyone. you assume i''m a dem, and you''d be wrong. i''m not a repub either. neither of their platforms fits my ideals. i''m not bashing, sir. read my posts. I look at history, and try to learn from it.

How do you figure a sissy liberal such as Obama is going to kick any a$$ ?....he won''t, and terrorists will see us as weak, they already are endorsing him to be elected, what does that tell you ?

jgg000,

i agree. there is so much subjective evidence as to why our national security is at stake to begin with, and frankly I am not confident that either of these two guys could uphold my security the way I would like. and outside of the pres and their abilities, I like to remember (and it''s the reason I come to these forums, ie my faith in my fello/a americans) that the PA plane went down where it did due to my fellow americans, not any pres sitting pretty in a secured fashion.

The democrats will continue to Bush-bash long after Obama (god forbid) gets elected, they''ll never take blame for the disaster that will unfold, but will blame republicans...or say they don''t have "enough of a majority"..every excuse in the book.... they will always try to exploit America''s suffering and use the war(s) for their own selfish political gain

medmom, I don''t think there is a gold standard or will ever be one. On 9/11 nobody in their wildest dreams could have imagined that plot. And if it had been successful at also taking out the pentagon, white house, and who knows way else, well, the nation would have ultimately recovered, but can you imagine how devastating that would have been. This is not a party issur for me, but I give credit where credit is due. I know truly evil, horrible people want to kill us, and as is happening all over the world, they would love to do it sooner than later.
So far so good. Let''s keep our fingers crossed regardless of who gets elected.

jgg000: I was only stating that in maintaining our security, I don''''t believe one can point to the repubs as the gold standard, considering 9/11, but I''''m also not maintaining that the dems could, based on lack of said history.

I don''t think either that the Republicans would better on national security. Just because they are more willing to get their way, by hook or by crook, doesn''t mean they will achieve better results. And Iraq exemplifies that.

Careful, the flip side to holding that argument is that: Should Obama(assuming)be held responsible for all the problems the country has from the day he gets sworn in? After all it''''s on "his clock".

alwayz brilliant to see the flip side....

Rowdy, I know we will never agree on this point, and I respect that, but Bush''s 7-9 months is hardly enough time to point blame, vs 8 years

I more blame Clinton''s inaction, then doing anything specific.....we disagree, I''m fine with that

I would rather us focus on stopping the Obamination from destroying the country worse than it already is

Read what? You do understand that just because someone said it or you can read it on the internet, that doesn''t automatically make it true? Don''t you?

actually, with IndyMac, chuck schumer did the political equivalent of running into a crowded lobby and yelling "fire!" He thoroughly usurped the bank''''s management for his own political gain, and almost single-handedly caused the run on IndyMac.

I think george has done a pretty good job of defending the US. You gotta give him that one.

Having more Americans killed than the casualties of 9/11 don''t make a good case for safety. A year with no Americans dying in this war on terror might be a case for a good defense against terrorism. Provided we don''t kill the economy to accomplish it.

Really?? 9/11 is on his hands. his time. his clock. his ''''''''defending'''''''' of his country was negligible at that time, at best. The repubs have gotten us into wars. that''''''''s not what''''''''s best for our security. 9/11 occurred on repub''''''''s time -- I don''''''''t know how keeping them in power improves anyone''''''''s security.
