Sorry to hear that. My ex-mother-in-law is a great lady. I''''ve been divorced 12 years now, and we still e-mail each other all the time. We''''re having lunch at the end of the month to "catch up" on everything and everyone.

Now my first mother-in-law was a saint! She''d call me up to come over and fix something at her house and then get me drunk! By the time my wife would get home and I wasn''t there she knew just where to look for me. She once said she was only sorry her daughter had married me because it prevented her from adopting me.

My second mother-in-law almost made me start believing there really was a Satan!

Yeah - either she loses the presidency and JUST ny''ers are stuck with her again, or she wins and we''re ALL stuck with her.

At least as a NY senator, she didn''t do ANYTHING positive or negative anyhow, so I guess we''ll take her back.

But we''''ve gotten by with only one senator (Chuck Schumer) since 2000, so I think we''''ll manage with only one senator - AGAIN.

Contrary to the image they try to project, liberals are less compassionate and more selfish than conservatives, according to a new book by Peter Schweizer.

Drawing on extensive attitude surveys, Schweizer%u2019s %u201CMakers and Takers: Why Conservatives Work Harder, Feel Happier, Have Closer Families, Take Fewer Drugs, Give More Generously, Value Honesty More, Are Less Materialistic and Envious, Whine Less . . . and Even Hug Their Children More Than Liberals,%u201D which comes out this week, says liberals are much more likely than conservatives to think about themselves first and are less willing to make sacrifices for others.

Unfortunately, for us NY residents, that isn''t true.
