I agree with Hillary. Really. Obama is smart, suave and says all the right things. He does NOT however have the experience to battle the Repubs that will throw up every roadblock imaginable once he got in the Whitehouse. Hillary KNOWS the system and how to get things done. Hillary NOW! Obama LATER

Hillary, you seem to have latched onto the phrase "let''s get real."

Could you and your husband please get real on ethics and morality?

You both have some explaining to do.

George Will wrote this today. Pretty apt.

"The president who came to office with the most glittering array of experiences had served 10 years in the House of Representatives, then became minister to Russia, then served 10 years in the Senate, then four years as secretary of state (during a war that enlarged the nation by 33 percent), then was minister to Britain. Then, in 1856, James Buchanan was elected president and in just one term secured a strong claim to being ranked as America''s worst president. Abraham Lincoln, the inexperienced former one-term congressman, had an easy act to follow. "

Yes, ethics bills are great and wonderful and we need more, but where is his work to staunch corporate greed? better our foreign relations? end the war for oil, and our dependency on oil? end tax cuts for businesses and the wealthy?

Being a good person is wonderful, but being an effective leader for MAJOR issues is something that the lacks.

I see a disaster coming.

I see people who have been ruled over by a dictator for 8 years. They have been s-c-r-e-w-e-d over by their government. Their country is a mess and in major debt. Other countries hate them and they have terrorists after them.

It is understandable that you want all this to stop but what I see happening is that you are going from one extreme(Bush) to the other extreme (Obama), which is what people do when they have been burned. Obama is nice, he has charisma. People like him. He is non threatening. You think that the world will like him better because of it. He is the complete opposite of Bush.

That is a big mistake. You need someone that is somewhere inbetween and that would be Hillary. You need someone that can stand up and protect your country and do what needs to be done. Obama is a great guy but I do not believe he is the person that is going to be able to make the needed changes. When I see him, I see a weak person. Not completely weak but definitely not a strong person.

In one speech, Hilllary said "let''s get real" at least a dozen times. I guess when she herself is not facing reality, she''s unable to fully understand the word "real". It''s time that she gets real and gracefully withdraw before she becomes totally damaged goods for any future aspirations she might have for the future. Losing so many straight does not bode well for her and the best thing is to realize when it''s time to call it a day.

Hillary lacks the understanding of the following:

"A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they don''t necessarily want to go, but ought to be."

"The very essence of leadership is that you have to have vision."

"A great leader''s courage to fulfill his vision comes from passion, not position."

"Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things."

"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader."

"A good leader inspires people to have confidence in the leader, a great leader inspires people to have confidence in themselves."

"I have a different vision of leadership. A leadership is someone who brings people together."

"There will be no end to the troubles of states, or of humanity itself, till philosophers become kings in this world, or till those we now call kings and rulers really and truly become philosophers, and political power and philosophy thus come into the same hands."

Obama:
"I must follow the people. Am I not their leader?"

Is Obama the American Mandela? Obama brings a message of hope and change to a country at the crossroads. It is choice between the past and the future. But is Obama the American Mandela who could inspire Americans to a better future at home? And a future where America takes it rightful place at the global table? Is he the one? The question of whether Obama is the American Mandela is discussed in my blog Angry African on the Loose at www.angryafrican.wordpress.com

QUOTE: "If Obama gets somehow elected, I expect AMMNESTY for all illegals, take immediated steps to run from Iraq --not leaving Iraq responsibly, in an organized way. The chaos left behind in Iraq will NOT save us money, or lives; on the contrary, it will have unforeseeable consequences. I will NOT vote for Obama because the UNCERTAINTY that it will bring is just too overwhelming. All that on top of the big contributors to his campaign receiving unbelievable PAYBACKS that will likely affect ALL aspect of our lives. I do not want us to say two or three years from now that the Bush years were great in comparison. Please, do not support the Obama adventure. Instead, elect Hillary Clinton for President of the country."

Absolutely right.

I have had to live the last 7 years apologizing to my acquaintances from foreign countries for the Bush Administration. I am so afraid of Obama getting elected. If this fool gets into office, I''ll be apologizing for at least another 4 years. I have conversed with so many people from the UK and other countries who are just as much in fear of a proposed Obama Administration. Vote for Clinton! Let''s get the rest of the world liking us again!

When are people going to wake up? I know that he is spending obscene amounts of money that Oprah, the super wealthy, and questionable others are throwing at him. Still, media blitz shouldn''t take the place of careful criteria. It is frightening to watch people blindly walking into a setup for disaster.
It''s like watching animals head for slaughter.
I wonder if people just want some idol instead of a capable President. Talk about voting against your best interest.

"Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton launched a tough new offensive against Sen. Barack Obama on Wednesday, asserting flatly that her rival for the Democratic presidential nomination is not prepared to serve as commander in chief. "

Whereas Hillary already knows how to direct guests to the White House powder room.

Police concerned about order to stop screening

By JACK DOUGLAS Jr.
Star-Telegram Staff Writer
DALLAS -- Security details at Barack Obama''s rally Wednesday stopped screening people for weapons at the front gates more than an hour before the Democratic presidential candidate took the stage at Reunion Arena.

The order to put down the metal detectors and stop checking purses and laptop bags came as a surprise to several Dallas police officers who said they believed it was a lapse in security.

Dallas Deputy Police Chief T.W. Lawrence, head of the Police Department''s homeland security and special operations divisions, said the order -- apparently made by the U.S. Secret Service -- was meant to speed up the long lines outside and fill the arena''s vacant seats before Obama came on.

"Sure," said Lawrence, when asked if he was concerned by the great number of people who had gotten into the building without being checked. But, he added, the turnout of more than 17,000 people seemed to be a "friendly crowd."

The Secret Service did not return a call from the Star-Telegram seeking comment.

Senator Obama has sponsored or cosponsored multiple ethics-related bills:

Honest Leadership and Open Government Act (S. 2180): The bill would lengthen the cooling off period to two years for lawmakers and staff who seek to become lobbyists, and it would require immediate disclosure as soon as any job negotiations begin. Finally, the bill would end all lobbyist-funded gifts, meals, and travel and strengthen the Senate office that monitors lobbyist disclosure forms.

The Congressional Ethics Enforcement Commission Act (S. 2259):
The bill would create an outside ethics commission to receive complaints from the public on alleged ethics violations by members of Congress, staff, and lobbyists.

The Transparency and Integrity in Earmarks Act (S. 2261):
The bill would shed light on the almost 16,000 earmarks that were included in spending bills in 2005. Under the bill, all earmarks, including the name of the requestor and a justification for the earmark, would have to be disclosed 72 hours before they could be considered by the full Senate.

The Curtailing Lobbyist Effectiveness through Advance Notification, Updates, and Posting Act (The CLEAN UP Act) (S. 2179):
The bill aims to improve public access to information about all legislation, including conference reports and appropriations legislation, in particular after hurried, end-of-session negotiations.

You have summed it all for us. Good judgment and ability to articulate and appoint the right people is what is required not gurus. Obama is capable of that, not Clinton, period.

Excellent post the cuts right to the root issue.
