Comments on: Home-Schoolers Buoyed Huckabee's Rise
Washington Post: Early Backers Rallied Conservative Network In Iowa
- The ONE thing I do know is EXCEPT for the kids the Public School has TOSSED OUT and MISLABELED as "home-schooled" to cover their assets over doing something illegal ALL the REAL home-schoolers I know have loving, caring parents willing to SACRIFICE time, money, jobs, and other things to INSURE their children receive the BEST education they can.
I can''t say the same for all too many of the parents of the Public school kids I know. The latchkey NEGLECT for many of them is a scandal that often leaves me worried for our national future. - Reply to this comment

WOW, this guy MUST have lost a spelling bee to a home-schooler to be going off so much against them.
BTW - along with winning National Spelling Bees they have also won the National Geography Bee and seem to be grabbing a BIG percentage of the scholarships they are allowed to apply for.
My daughter has won a few of those and ticked off the locals since one of her scholarships is for a University this district has NEVER been able to get a student into no less SCHOLARSHIP into.
The "religious only" thing is a MYTH!!!!
I suspect such paranoia is encouraged and perpetrated by people afraid of FREEDOM and DIVERSITY or losing their job with their school district.
I lean more toward Buddhist beliefs. I have home-schooling friends that are Pagan, Wiccan, Muslim, Atheist, Don''t give a care and yes some Christian Catholic, Protestant, Tiresome evangelicals and I think even Mormon but I''d have to check. - Reply to this comment

- I''m sorry I don''t trust anyone from the same town and state as Slick Willie Clinton and that means Slick Huck as well. (And Slick Huck is just as slick. Just look at the picture to this story.....)
I''m looking for Mr. Clean with a great record of success in the private, non-profit, and public sector.
I''m looking for someone who brought health insurance to all it''s state citizens without raising taxes.
I''m looking for someone to inspire me like Ronald Reagan.
I''m looking for Mitt Romney - Reply to this comment

The Bible is not just one book. Mind you that it is 66 books. And there is more scientific and archeological evidence to support the arguments of the Bible than there is in Evolution. - Reply to this comment

- You include the gunman as one of the five Christians that died. YWAN, New Life Church and the Kings Kids all treated the gunman, Matthew Murray poorly. You can gooogle nghtmrchld26 and find how these groups and the guy''s mom made his life horrible. Did ya read where the Christians at New Life Church told one of the people injured by the murderer Matthew Murray on their property was booted off on Sunday?

Well, that''s your opinion. I don''t really care one way or another how you educate your kids. If you want to home-school, fine! If you want to publicly educate them and help them with their homework, fine! If you want to pack them up and send them to boarding school, fine. If you want to educate them by sending them to a military school, great! What we are saying is, we continue to maintain the right and priviledge to do the same. The State stays OUT of my home! - Reply to this comment

- and I support home-schooling by anyone. I reject the idea of the State being involved with taking the place of parents in raising children. I support the death penalty for murderers, with the appropriate evidence. I support efforts by the US Government to assist welfare recipients in finding work. I support the current IRS tax system without any changes. I support freedom of religion. I support the use of "Merry Christmas". I believe in calling a spade a spade, rather than using a politically correct term. If it smells like c.r.a.p., then it must be. I support pro-life. I support the enforcement of the law, to include the law that governs illegal immigrants. I support Israel. I support the parent''s right to choose to homeschool, as long as there is accountability by the state. I support the right for a parent to choose public school. I support the teaching of good and decent morals to our children that help them to make good decisions. I support the family unit. I am AGAINST the Iraq war, and believe that we need to bolster the security in the United States, and seal up the borders against illegal immigrants. I am AGAINST universal health care. I am AGAINST issuing Social Security to people who are more than able to work, even if they do have some kind of illness that may keep them from doing some types of work.

- Bennyblack : Every student should be home schooled--- for about 3 hours, every night, after the get home from public schools. Why are you religious zealots always trying to divide and conquer our society? The answer is simple, when you are in a room with someone who can offer critical thinking that is not hamstrung by you "one book mind" you become phobic! The true tragedy of this issue is that it hides the true race and religious bigotry that gave birth to it.

And CBS doesn''t post these things. I''m not a part of CBS, though I depend heavily upon the information the employees provide. These are REAL opinions posted by REAL people. - Reply to this comment

5 Christians DIED last week at the hands of a gunman who HATED Christianity. MyIDon...there''''s your proof, which created a precedence across the US for heightened armed security in the churches. Christians are being TARGETED by left wing terrorist groups both inside and outside the United States, both publicly and privately. So, MyIDon, don''''t tell me I''''m crazy! - Reply to this comment

OK...you don''''t see the difference? Am I pimping your daughter out in the street? Am I pumping her full of drugs trying to persuade her to accept my religion? Am I running around the streets of America blackmarketing weapons? Am I running around with a gang of people executing a terrorist plot on an airport? Am I showing up on your front door with a machine gun or a mercede demanding that you renounce your beliefs and accept mine or die? Neo con...
