Washington Post: Republican Hopeful Looks To Step Into The Spotlight

"health choices" what is that? It''s not a choice if a catastrophic illness comes your way and you cannot afford it. But then perhaps some "small business owners" feel confident they have the money as some of them are in a position to exploit the ignorant stupid enough to consume the meaningless fluff that is peddled through many a "small businesses". How many people ask the questions anymore, Does what I do advance the cause of humanity, is what I do meaningful? Do I do things that make society better? Nope, so many like to peddle meaningless cr*ap and then boast how self-sufficient they are. These are the ones that will be humbled brutally through the callousness of their existence.
As for those promoting the virtues of privatization, small government and market freedom. Rest assured someday those will be a group where the majority will will have lost and submitted to concentrated wealth. - Reply to this comment
- The fact is Dr. Ron Paul is the only candidate who is pro-peace and pro-liberty.
Plus he''s not a member of the CFR unlike Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Romney, Thompson, and Giuliani.
Defend America and defend the constitution!

- This trend of trying declare any election that "your particular candidate" didn''t win as invalid with no proof has gone too far. In order for the Democratic process to work, the loser has to accept the loss and MOVE ON. We have no problem with our election equipment in this area, if you do, then that is what needs to be addressed BEFORE the election, NOT AFTER. It''s never going to be perfect, that does not mean an election has been "rigged."
If you want to win, then get enough votes to beat the other candidate. If you can''t, then quit trying to cause trouble, tear the country apart and destroy our Constitution with this "sore loser" routine. Unfortunately, I think a lot of parents have raised overgrown babies who are now trying to control the rest of us at the polls like two year olds in a grocery store who scream and hit everyone in sight, if they can''t have the candy bar their grubby little fingers are on. How old are you? Maybe you should hire an outfitter if you want to go through the forest, because you don''t seem to know how to make it on your own and big party manipulators are trying to use that to their advantage to either throw elections in their favor or turn everyone against the winner. That''s where the corruption lies and most of us out here are not impressed. - Reply to this comment
- My husband and I are in our 50''s, we have been small business owners for over 20 years, and we are gravitating toward Ron Paul because he seems to be the only candidate who respects our freedom and autonomy over our own health choices, as well as our privacy. He will appoint Supreme Court Justices who do not deny us that, in favor of big business pharmaceutical companies who want to control our bodies and limit our freedom for profit. He is also not going to make things illegal for adults just because kids shouldn''t be doing something, where did that come from? Ronald Reagan neocons and the neolibs who are more alike than different, that''s where. All that has done is make this country sick, fat, stupid and increase the crime rate. We''ve also had enough of both party machines who are using hatred, bias, fear and big money to fool America. Flip off.
And if you want to fight terrorists in this country, maybe you should start with the criminally insane roaming the streets killing and raping people with nothing but a bottle of pills standing between them and us to take at their own discretion. What we need is an old *** conservative like Dr Ron Paul. I remember when times were a lot better and we thought Orwell''s 1984 was SCIENCE FICTION. People had more respect for each other''s privacy, faith and lifestyles in those days, too, as long as they weren''t hurting anybody else. FYI - Reply to this comment
- As an independent observer,it seem even the anti-Paul arguments are railing against the SAME problems that the Pro-Paul people are against Both side are hoping for better days but are concentrating on their individual "trees" and MISSING the forest.
There is a FUNDAMENTAL FLAW that "the elite" have succeeded in taking advantage of - and some have even BRAGGED about it.
It''s NOT the end product be it elected officials or an economy that matters. It''s those CRUCIAL POINTS to GET TO THAT END that matter MOST.
Thus Stalin bragged about controlling WHO COUNTED the vote and a Rothschild bragged about controlling the SYMBOL OF TRADE - a nation''s CURRENCY (money) in order to CONTROL a POPULATION AND it''s GOVERNMENT.
Without correcting THOSE FLAWS we may as well be debating "how many angels can dance on the head of a pin"!!
With that in mind my FIRST priority is to push as many as I can to INSURE a FAIR and UNCORRUPTED election process before the Next election or it''ll be ANOTHER rigged election and the REST won''t matter.
No matter WHO he/she may ultimately be, Th REAL PEOPLE IN CONTROL will be the ones CONTROLLING THE PROCESS - NOT OUR political or economic "SYMBOLS". - Reply to this comment

- Who are these anti-Paul people who only know how to berate a very intelligent and principaled candidate. If they disagreed with Ron Paul''s views and could substantively articulated why, I would consider their arguments, but they have diminuted their pithy opining with hackneyed hollow sound bites and affronts. For example, some of these repostes associate Ron Paul with the neo-cons, well if you watched the debates, he explicitly said this administration was hijacked by the neo-cons. Does that sound favorable to you.

- CRITICAL POINT: Nominate Ron Paul or else Hillary Clinton will be elected... 100% guarantee. Ron is the only candidate who can stand against her and win. End of story. The changes that Ron has proposed are exactly what the U.S.A. needs to remain sovereign. If Hillary is elected, you can kiss it good-bye. Do you love America? Then show it!

- What the h--- is Ron Paul doing here? He doesn''t have a chance at all and though popular amongst those who only hear what they want to hear, (not unlike others) He certainly is too far fethced and unbelievable for this conservative. Nice try.

- "...If the Federal Reserve notes you refer to, be the currency I have in my wallet or the balance in my bank accounts, the answer to your question is simple, we repay the debt with the same notes that we borrowed in the first place.
The same notes we have been receiving/giving in every transaction we''ve made for almost a century. I fail to see the relevance of your question"

- "we repay the the debt with the same notes that we borrowed in the first place".
Just stop and think about what you just wrote. WHO DID WE BORROW THE NOTES FROM? Also note that these notes are NOT MONEY. Look up the definition of money in Black''s law Dictionary as well. In the definition you should see what it IS NOT. What you are saying is that we are to pay the debt WITH DEBT. Does this really make sense?
- My point is this. With the current monetary system in place (since 1913/1934), IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PAY OFF "THE DEBT". Since we are no longer on a gold standard, something else must BACK THE NATIONAL DEBT. That something is OUR LABOR. In essence, you, I, and ever other working American have become THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT''S downpayment (slave if you will). In short, we are treated as nothing more than the government''s property. People may not like hearing it, but it does not change the truth of the matter. - Reply to this comment
- Most candidates must lie to get as many votes as they can. All Dr. Ron Paul has to do is keep telling the truth and he will leave the lying pack of front-running prostitutes in his dust.

- I will do my best to compare neo con with libertarian but when there is talk of privatization, free market, small government it throws major red flags up for me because that has been the mantra of the neo con movement. These are words that sound good until the underlying meaning is revealed which is concentrated wealth and influence, an a grossly disproportionate representation of the wealthy and non-human corporate entities. If Ron Paul is to influence corporate corruption he will have to do it through government power, representative government power. Our middle class is shrinking faster than people realize and that will harm everyone in the long run.

It''''s the gold bug scare. It''''s a form of conspiracy that one can get caught up in but after processing it over time some come to the conclusion it''''s like waiting for the sky to fall.

You%u2019re probably right.
I notice that my questions still were not answered.
The problem is not the free market system; the problem is the lack of a FREE market.
Monopolization of everything necessary for survival is NOT a free market.
Health care, gasoline, food etc, are now controlled to the point where we must pay whatever prices are placed on them. It%u2019s no longer a matter of simply choosing to buy somewhere else.
To me, Ron Paul%u2019s past record, and even his present promises, show no actual, workable, change. - Reply to this comment
- Go Ron Paul! If we stick to the constitution most of the problems we are seeing today will disappear. A vote for anyone else would be unamerican.(unless you think being a good american is creating the N american union with Mexico and Canada and erasing our boarders!) CFR bios for presidential candidates can be found here. http://americanendeavor.blogspot.com/2007/10/goals-of-cfr-council-on-foreign.html
notice Ron Paul is not a member! Dont vote for anyone who is! - Reply to this comment
- Lack of regulation is lawlessness, lawlessness is anarchy, anarchy gives rise to sociopaths taking over, the majority want order, order is promised through a dictatorial savior and the people embrace. It took centuries to come to the concept of representative democracy and there are non-visionaries through half truth ideologies that are striving to tear it down.

- l8c6: Libertarianism is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from Neo-Conservatism. Dr. Paul actually challenges the Neo-Cons in one of the debates. Do some research, Kid.

The men you refer to lived in an era where they were accustomed to government control being very concentrated in the hands of a few with no vote for the people.
I can listen to the small government folks and I like the idea of what they say but it''s like promoting that drivers be allowed to sort out who goes through a busy intersection first, sc*rew the control of traffic signals. - Reply to this comment
- l8c6,.....Wrong again! We broke away from the old European world order in 1776. That is precisely why our citizens in public office historically stood on a "neutral foreign policy" in regards to the turmoils of Europe. Some of our leaders drug us kicking and screaming into their problems and it cost us dearly.
