Since you take this position, I would have to say yes. It took an entire Congress to give President Bush an authorization to go into Iraq. Not the Repubs. The entire Congress. They were willing to have regime change since Clinton. 9/11 only made this more dire. They were all willing. So please spare me it''s the Democrats who went into Iraq. This is *** from the word go. There are very specific reasons why we are in Iraq. Nobody lied to get us there. But just about everybody lied about consenting to get us there. And gee, while I hate to burst your little bubble, the current surge is working.

If you really want to know about ''your war on terrorist'' read Chasing Ghosts: Failures and Facades in Iraq: A Soldier''s Perspective by Paul Rieckhoff

Lieutenant Rieckhoff and his 38-man infantry platoon spent 10 months in one of the most volatile areas of Baghdad, trying to maintain order, protect civilians, track down insurgents, and protect themselves from snipers and roadside bombers. It quickly became clear that the American mission in Iraq had vague strategy, flawed tactics, and overchallenged, underequipped soldiers. Rieckhoff made it back alive, determined to tell the truth about what was happening and demand accountability from elected officials.

Iraq has been a rich man''s war and a poor man''s fight, with the Iraqi people barely visible in the American media. Moreover, Rieckhoff''s experiences showed him that censorship and bias abound even in these days of "on-the-spot" reporting, distorting what anyone following the war through the general media can learn. A most commendable eyewitness report on Iraq.

This is the height of delusion. Our reputation around the world has been tarnished as a result of the left wingnuts and this Congress giving into the hype of MoveOn and Media Matters. The left itself is the cause of our reputation around the world. And just for your own edification here.

Is it Democrats that got us into this trillion dollar quagmire in Iraq and took our focus off al Qaeda? And is it Democrats that spawned Rummy%u2019s post war strategy of not enough boots on the ground with not enough equipment? And was it Democrats that gave us Paul Breemer and his wrong at every turn management of post-war Iraq? And obviously it was the Democrats that cooked up Halliburton%u2019s no-bid, Billion dollar contracts. And Democrats gave us Blackwater and Abu Ghraib and its Democrats that are making America the laughing-stock of the entire world.

taotxzen,

So what you''re saying is you believe there''s more of an immediate threat from global warming than there is from terrorists/Iran with nuclear weapons? You care more about the polar bears than people and you are a freak. I''m so sick of idiots like you and Al trying to make me feel guilty about something that is completely out of my control. Now go and waste your money on carbon credits and fatten Al''s wallet if you will...MORON.

Who could honestly support anything the left says when you see how self-serving they really are at the expense of this country, our troops and our goodwill.

You know I don''t think these people on the left really care that their candidates and congressmen/women are self serving crooked a$$holes. This is all about winning to them, it''s just a *** game. They all support Hitlary because she seems to be the one who could win, they could give two ***** about her message or lack thereof. It''s maddening! The left is going to bring down this country and like you say, they are already responsible for our negative reputation around the world.

Say what you want about Mr Gore however if he were calling the plays the war in Iraq would never have occurred. Support and respect for the U.S. around the globe would not have plummeted to levels that are both embarrassing and dangerous. The surpluses of the Clinton years would not have been squandered like casino chips in the hands of a compulsive
gambler on a monumental losing streak.

Gore helped found Generation Investment Management, through which he and others pay for offsets. The firm invests the money in solar, wind and other projects that reduce energy consumption around the globe%u2026
As co-founder and chairman of the firm Gore presumably draws an income or will make money as its investments prosper. In other words, he %u201Cbuys%u201D his %u201Ccarbon offsets%u201D from himself, through a transaction designed to boost his own investments and return a profit to himself. To be blunt, Gore doesn%u2019t buy %u201Ccarbon offsets%u201D through Generation Investment Management - he buys stocks.

Who could honestly support anything the left says when you see how self-serving they really are at the expense of this country, our troops and our goodwill.

Mr. Gore''''s "the sky is falling" hysteria is nothing more than green socialism. He and his buddies stand to make billions with their emissions control and carbon control plants at our expense. The guy''''s hysterical.

The biggest reason the right hates Mr. Gore in his case the smear campaign has failed. Hes taken everything they could throw at him, and emerged more respected, and more credible, than ever. And it drives them crazy.

Mr. Gore''s "the sky is falling" hysteria is nothing more than green socialism. He and his buddies stand to make billions with their emissions control and carbon control plants at our expense. The guy''s hysterical. How about this for a theory? Climate geo-engineering? Fred Ickle and Lowell Wood stated: Expressed in terms of the metaphor of the "greenhouse effect", it would work like this: Geo-Engineering would put a "parasol" over the greenhouse to deflect 1% or 2% of the sunlight that now affects the Earth. In the language of climate science, we would increase by a few percent the Earth''s "albedo" the ratio of incoming sunlight reflected back into space relative to the total inbound from the sun. Apparently the art of increasing the Earth''s albedo is not new and it is feasible, economical and capable. So let''s not sit there and say Bore has all the answers and we are just putting him down. Believe me when it comes to hate, nobody does it better than the left.

For the last several years, environmental leaders and writers have blamed stealthy misinformation efforts by a handful of global warming deniers for the lack of national political action on global warming. Two years ago, Mother Jones pointed to the $8 million Exxon-Mobil had pumped into 40 conservative groups between 2000 and 2003, concluding, ''They%u2019ve delayed action for 15 years.'' Greenpeace protested the company%u2019s activities and launched ExxonSecrets.com. And in a cover story in August, Newsweek declared that, ''The reason for inaction was clear %u2026 well-funded naysayers.''

The truth is that global warming deniers have had little impact on public attitudes. In 1989, Gallup asked Americans how concerned they were with global warming. Sixty-three percent said they worried ''a great deal'' or a ''fair amount'' about it - by 2007, that number was virtually unchanged at 65 percent. Exxon-Mobil, it turns out, had wasted its money.

This summer, the arctic ice area minimum shrunk by 25% from last year. It is still under the old record minimum. Both the Northwest and Northeast passages were open. An open Arctic Ocean in the summer will absorb huge amounts of solar heat, dwarfing what we add to the atmosphere each year. As the Arctic warms, can Greenland melting be far behind? To me, Gore and others don''t realize how far the process has gone. The question now is - "Can we prevent the end of the Holocene?"

In the 1970''s, it was scientific consensus that the
earth was going to have "global cooling"

So tell me, who won the Nobel "Peace" Prize in the 1970''s for
their work on "global cooling"?????

A few centuries ago, an overwhelming majority of scientists
stated as "fact", that the sun revolved around the earth.
Until a fellow by the name of Copernicus proved the "consensus" wrong with facts.

Remember, science is based on facts, NOT consensus

ROTFLMAO, Seig Heil, Hillary.!!!

Where are all the liberals who think Algore is Jesus Reincarnated? We need to get this done.

It''s a Moral Issue.

prairiefox1 you said...
Fact! the polar ice caps are melting! the ice caps on Mars are also melting.. TRUE...
This is due to the increased solar output of the sun... TRUE (And actually they are also melting on Pluto..)
All this in combination with the increase of world population!
I hadnt thought of that..
But I did know that cities are hotter places, and this is a good point..

Increases of land being cleared to build houses etc is also a very good point as it then means that there are not enough trees to absorb the carbon Dioxide etc..
I have advocated for along time that if our governments were really serious about climate change and worried about the atmosphere that they would plant millions of trees in every piece of land that they are able to like Israel did in the desert. There is a lot of useless banks, and on areas where it is worthless for anything else and trees could be planted.. the trees will absorb what is dangerous to us and give off oxygen..
