Hilary has apparently been invited to serve as Secretary of State, and if she accepts, she will have the opportunity to serve her country during an historic period.

It would be a bad idea to appoint Bill Clinton to the Senate. It would be too much of a temptation for Bill and Hilary to work both sides of the street, trying to create their own version of a foreign policy. But this would lead to mistrust and contention within the Obama administration - confusion that we do not need in these precarious times.

It would be better for Bill to take his turn at Hilary''s side, as a respected advisor within the next Administration, free to speak his mind within the private councils of the Executive Branch. In foreign policy, it is vital to show the world a clear and unified determination of purpose. For Hilary to be Secretary of State, Bill must play a supporting role this time.

I like Caroline Kennedy for the job, myself.

The neocon vision and the fake Reagan facade of conservatism is now a fading memory. Good riddance too bad we are saddled with 11 trillion dollar deficit thanks to GOP free spending over the last quarter century. We should make anyone who ever voted for Reagan and George Bush Jr along with their kids and grand kids pay the whole bill. Anyone who voted Dem since Carter is off the hook!!! LOL

One of the best and there is nothing you neo cons can do to change that. Plus if I were Obama I would wait until the Supreme court had an opening and appoint him and then appoint Hillary.

That would make the neo cons literly lose it and it would make most of America just start laughing at them.

I''ve been an Independent since 1982. Clinton was a pragmatist--but the prosperity attributed to him was the result of hard decisions made by a Republican Congress and not vetoed by Clinton including cutting the military. Those who are honest and not partisan acknowledge that a lot of the "greatness" attributed to Clinton was not the result of either his own foresight or actions. On the other hand, Clinton helped to foster division and morally he and Hillary are abysmal failures. At issue for me is their propensity for pathological lying. I would not want such a mindset as the highest judges in the land--it being something of a farce. Do the right and left really have to make of their former leaders--demi-gods or celebrities? Neither Reagan, Clinton, Bush et al were that great and none deserve more time than the Constitution gave them--thank the Lord for term limits--given the way Congress spent--had Clinton still been in power with NAFTA, outsourcing and crazy spending the crisis now would have been almost as bad

antoniof123,

You missed one very important point. All of Clinton''s achievements were after 1994 when he had a Republican-controlled congress. If you took his first two years when the Democrats ruled Congress, his record would be very poor.

Besides, the assessment you quote reads like propaganda written by one of Clinton''s interns.

My God the neo ocns are in a panic. From the government web site.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/history/presidents/bc42.html

During the administration of William Jefferson Clinton, the U.S. enjoyed more peace and economic well being than at any time in its history. He was the first Democratic president since Franklin D. Roosevelt to win a second term. He could point to the lowest unemployment rate in modern times, the lowest inflation in 30 years, the highest home ownership in the country''s history, dropping crime rates in many places, and reduced welfare rolls. He proposed the first balanced budget in decades and achieved a budget surplus. As part of a plan to celebrate the millennium in 2000, Clinton called for a great national initiative to end racial discrimination.

One of the best and there is nothing you neo cons can do to change that. Plus if I were Obama I would wait until the Supreme court had an opening and appoint him and then appoint Hillary.

That would make the neo cons literly lose it and it would make most of America just start laughing at them.

What in the world would be Bill Clinton''''''''s motivation to accept the senate seat if offered? The Clinton foundation raises vast sums of money and requires global travel.

All very true.

Consider the reversal Duke Cunningham moment when Clinton and/or his foundation is discovered to have accepted gifts or donations from foreigners or others for influence (he already was being paid to lobby for Columbia and has monies from numerous ME sources)

Or perhaps Clinton will entertain us with a Foley/Vitter/Spitzer moment and once again diddle a page or lower level employee. Sure to be entertaining to all of the people who still have jobs and tvs at that point (NOT).

Here''s a clue--your stench is only a preferable aroma to yourself. So Dems table your Clinton fever and Repubs table your Palinitis--both stink to high heaven!!!

If Clinton fulfills his wife''s seat, Dems can kiss 2012 goodbye. We said we did not want Bill back and we meant it. GOP fanatics have Palin as their eternal mascot--intent on foisting her on the rest of us and the left has Bill Clinton--we want neither. Either get and learn that point, or get ready to get out in 2012.

Once you''re president, you''re always called "Mr President". How would that work on the senate floor?

Congress is notorious for fvcking under age pages and other shenanigans. We don''t need the perennial icon of fvckography on the Hill--trying to see if there is any territory his old azz has not yet conquered. stop trying to get the freak clintons back in power. Clinton would try to commandeer the Legislative branch while Hillary tried to undermine Obama from within--no thank you--our country has no time for such drama and trauma right now.
