- I have the chance to meet Governor Palin last year during a conference in NYC and I found her smart and charismatic.

I can buy charismatic with respect to likeminded people, but I cannot understand how anyone can believe she is smart. Quick maybe or cunning, but not smart... not if you mean intelligent. The woman cannot speak in complete sentences unless she is reading off a teleprompter. And you know what, that''s okay... I don''t have a problem with the fact that I or anyone else is less intelligent. What I don''t respect is the idea that they should be President over someone who is educated and intelligent or who won''t admit they might not be the brightest bulb in the box but instead blames it on the people reporting on their own mistakes. It wreaks of arrogance. - Reply to this comment

- I have the chance to meet Governor Palin last year during a conference in NYC and I found her smart and charismatic. I really believe alot of people in this blogs are very partisan or very quick to make judgments on public figures without even knowing their career backgrounds or really dig into their lives. Governor Palin has been treated really bad by the far left of the Democratic Party just as Obama was and still is treated badly by the far right of the Republican Party. They both have a lot of things in common, they aren''t like your typical Washington politician, they both have some unique personal stories that appeal to many but also antagonize others, they both look different to the elite and they both are leaders in their own way. Obama succeed and won the Presidency fair and square and we haven''t thing all from Sarah Palin. Regrettable for her, she was introduced badly by the McCain campaign but she still has plenty of time to show America the real Sarah, the one that is not partisan, that is inclusive, and like to put people together. She is tough, she is proud or her conservative values but is always able to listen to all.
She will be fine I am sure; but to some people she will always be an idiot, or extreme right wing just as for some Obama will always be a Muslim, a socialist and a face. Those judgments were wrong! - Reply to this comment
- Sarah has successfully defined the base of the republican party. Those who are somewhat informed and those who have given even a small effort to educating themselves are moving away from the party. Soon, the republican party will be comprised ''completely'' of the billionaires who control it and the trailer dwelling gun-totin'' morons who actually believe that morality is synonymous with war.

- o all of you Sarah Palin haters: I think you are wrong! I think Sarah will actually help Chambliss in the South! You are forgetting that this is Georgia that we''''re talking about. Georgia is like the buckle on the Bible belt! If I recall correctly it was a red state in the recent election. The people there voted republican and for McCain. Also, like in all southern states, there are a lot of southern country rednecks and hunters in Georgia who relate to Sarah Palin. Even though I don''''t live in Georgia I am a southerner and I am one of them! I also agree with her politics! Go Sarah!

I have NO DOUBT Palin will help Chambliss in Georgia, but it says a lot more about the rednecks that are voting for him than it does about Palin.
As for Palin, and your "hero worship" of her, maybe one day someone can explain to me what there is to like about someone who thinks it''s okay to revile someone or allow someone else to revile someone because they have a foreign last name, or put down someone because they are educated, or call small town residents "real Americans" as if anyone else is unAmerican. She is the most horrifically divisive candidate I have ever seen. She is what I don''t want my daughter to be, so the desire to support her is something I simply don''t understand. - Reply to this comment
- Talk about rubbing salt in the wounds - I actually feel sorry for the poor dumb *** republicans. Chambliss may win in Georgia, but it won''t be because of this ditsy air head. I love that they can''t get her off the stage because I think she''s driving away the republicans that are any kind of reasoned. What''s left of their party won''t be able to win an election for dogcatcher.
