- After spending the last eight years blaming Bush for all the ills on the planet, I look forward to blaming someone new. More than likely Obama, but McCain would also be a good target. Ahhh, I can''t wait until Jan. for the new punching bag to to step into the ring.

- FLASH: All of the polls, like the candidates themselves, have flip flopped. Repugs will win with a narrow margin. All of the Liberals have come down with something like the stomach flu.

- Politics is a phenomenon where the balance of power and systems of belief shift back and forth. We%u2019ve had a period of a far swing to the right. Let%u2019s not have an equal swing to the left, but a centering in the middle.
My point exactly. Obama will be tested more from congress, the anywhere else. We can judge him on what he does. That is fair. That is just. At the same time, we all should hope he can do it. - Reply to this comment

- Bimmerbeemer:
Amen. Let''s not have a repeat of 1994, where the GOP thought they had a mandate to run roughshod over whoever held up a cautionary hand or offered a compromise. We ended up with an entrenched GOP Congress that soon saw its mission as perpetuating their hold on power, not the protection of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness".
Enter Tom Delay, K Street, and the disastrous reign of our current incompetent and stubborn White House occupant.

- Along came a glib, smooth talking newcomer. He had no governing experience to
speak of, but promised the change his people sought. He also promised free health
care, strict controls on guns and a massive redistribution of wealth from the few
rich to the many poor. The people praised him, the press extolled him and vilified
his opponent.
Children sang songs about him and university students chanted his name.
He was elected, and all the changes came to pass, but not as most had expected.
Because it was Germany, in 1938.
If that scares you, it *** well should.
The polls, the people, and the media are wrong. NOOBAMA PERIOD.

Why can you not see the same story you apply could be said for F. Roosevelt in 1932. He turned out pretty good for the country. Yes, Hitler was able to fool a populist who were egar to bllieve in change, but that was then. Your parralells do not work with Natzi Germany, and America. We had our chance with McCarthiasm, and thank God, it felled. There is "no" future, in the past. FDR and Hitler, are gone. And by the way, so is Senator McCarthy. - Reply to this comment
