The old wise men of the Republican foreign policy community are either supporting Obama, not taking sides, or supporting McCain out of loyalty or friendship while publicly contradicting him on foreign policy.
* Colin Powell has endorsed Barack Obama.
* Richard Lugar, Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has endorsed Obama''s approach to diplomacy over that of McCain.
* Brent Scowcroft refuses to endorse either way. Pretty telling for a former Republican national security advisor, especially since he was opposed to the war in Iraq.
* James Baker continues to support direct talks with Iran and has for the past two years. (Actually just read the entire five secretaries of state even transcript from CNN. It''s one big endorsement of Obama''s foreign policy)
* Kissinger and Schultz are op-eds in the Washington Post and Financial Times calling for a more moderate approach towards Russia.
* Kissinger has also called for direct talks with Iran (At the Secretary of State level).
* Chuck Hagel has traveled to Iraq with Obama and while not publicly endorsing looks to be pretty clearly in favor of Obama.
* Secretary of Defense Bob Gates is giving speeches that sound a lot more like an Obama foreign policy than a McCain foreign policy.
The dirty little secret is that all of these pragmatic conservatives have little in common with Bush/McCain and Neoconservatism.- Reply to this comment
- Obama gets a pass from the media most the time. When someone on his campaign gets a question that is deemed out of bounds, the station is boycotted? He lies about using public funding for his campaign and gets a pass. He removes controls on his campaign website to eliminate the ability to confirm and track where his funds come from and will not disclose his data? Won%u2019t do town hall meetings where the average %u201CJoe%u201D can ask questions? Has close ties to people that have radical agendas. ( Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Rezco %u2013 the ones we know of) His wife makes statements about not being proud of her country, and Obama himself has issues with our flag and pledge of allegiance. This man has been a lie from the beginning. There is no reason to believe anything he says and he cannot be trusted to run our country. ----NOBAMA ----

You folks need to really learn how government works, you know Executive,Judicial,Legislative branch and how while you tremble in fear, the process works pretty well laid out over 200 years later. - Reply to this comment
- I had a friend of mine send me an email telling everyone that Obama is Hitler. This is how far all this hateful, divisive, ruinous attacks has affected even this devote, good, Christian woman.
I am sending you the reply I sent her. I am not a Democrat or a Republican, I have always voted for the person as opposed to a party. It really worries me when I read something that is so full of hate. Our nation is going to have to pull together after November 4th, all of us. We are in a place that we have not been in since the first depression, and they all had to work together to become the strongest country in the world. It is sad that our nation has come so low, but the saddest part for me is all the hate mongering and fear tactics that have abounded in the last several months. We can not afford to have this as part of our lives it will only makes this angry rift between the rich, the working class and the poor to harder to heal. Because a country can only be as strong as its weakest link. These messages are a clear indication of how far we have come. I am not trying to tell you how you should vote, but to remember that because someone has a different view of things does not make them evil, it just makes them different. Regardless of their name, their skin color or their religion it is their heart that makes them good or bad. And since only God can see into someone''s heart, I want him to be the one to judge, not us with our imperfect souls.

The American Middle Class has experienced the greatest decline in lifestyle and prosperity in American History. The Conservative Agenda has successfully distributed our Federal Treasury Funds (tax monies) to the Private Sector for their unnecessary war in Iraq and through lending deregulation has managed to steal tax money to bailout private banking institutions.
The higher cost of living through invisible taxation from OIL and Energy Companies has increased the cost of everything creating a divide of super rich and former middle class that has been forced into poverty.
As for change in Government and the referendum on the Republican Conservative Agenda,
