President Bush, Secretary Paulsen and Fed Chair Bernake created the $700 billion bailout. They wanted it without oversight. Sure the Repugs in Congress played some political football with the approval and the Dems added some things to help the little guy, but repugs own this hugh welfare program for the wealthy.

sigh, It was the Dems that created the need. It was the Dems that were in bed with the Lobbys and it was all of them doing what they thought would protect their portfolios.

A simple matter of ethics that STOLE $150 Billion (in pork) from all of us perpetuated by the Dems and headed by Hillary Clinton and John Kerry. The bill is not the argument - frankly I have no idea (as most economists agree) if it is good or bad.

You just have to answer the question; What was the $150 Billion neeeded for and why did it need to be added to that rushed bill? And work backwards.......

Glad you are supporting ObamA-Biden! It is a good ticket. There is no comparison with what the Repugs have to offer.

On that statement I will reach across the aisle and agree with you. Put your plan out there and let people chose; leave this other stuff out.

You know what I changed my mind about Obama! I think he will be better for national security and the economy!

Plus sarah palin $150,000.00 on clothes, most Americans could have bought a home for that amount!

Besides I think Sarah Palin is really a Terrorist

dagrandma,

You have it right! Most of the men with which I served from 1961 through 1964 are dead. A fair number of them served in Viet Nam, but even the ones who did not had poor family lives and used alcohol and other durgs to their detriment.

What a sheep! Of course they are going to hide it. (eye roll) The fact that Democrats tried to push it through without gathering Republicans for the vote didnt alert you? And after the House defeated it (expressly stating it was that money that they disagreed with) and the fact that Hillary Clinton and John Kerry quickly assembled the Senate (knowing the House was still in debate) to vote on the new package and add 150 billion to it and pass it through - and then the Senate left town for their Election break. That doesn''t bother you? That the Senate effectively took away the participation of the House of Representatives. The House knew they HAD to pass SOMETHING, but to defeat the second bill and re-assemble the Senate would take too long. All of that is Ok?

What if that was an abortion vote?

lastdance128,

As a Vietnam Era Marine, who has an uncle wounded in Vietnam and sprayed with Agent Orange while there, I can attest to some of the things you describe. It is ironic that the miliary does such a good job brainwashing the GIs that they vote so heavily for Repugs. I nearly voted for Goldwater in 1964.

As someone who has donated money to the campaign I have no problem with Obama using my money to see his sick grandmother. I think there are a lot of people out here would agree with me.

I dont either, in fact it shows he is a totally sensitive HUMAN and 100% for his FAMILY even if it means brakes on his political campaign losing momentum- family comes FIRST.
McShame on the other hand, Mr "Family Values" man DUMPED his previous wife after she had a car accident- divorced her and took up with the younger rich btch he is married to now. Can you imagine that? DUMPS his wife after her severe permanent injury life-altering car wreck and she still loves this moron and is too stupid to see him for what he is- a USER and a LOSER.

dagrandma,

You are right! Senator McCain has lots of experience to share, icluding being a lousy student in the Naval Academy, making some poor judgements as a tailhooker, cheating on his first wife, being a member of the Keating Five, defending the Navy''s attempt to cover up the Tailhook Convention scandal, abandoning straight talk to tlak like GW, whom he admits voting with 90% of the time, picking a "beauty queen" for an running mate and clothing her at outrageous costs. Yes, Senator Mc?Cain has much experience.

"And the recent revelation of the GOP%u2019s $150,000 shopping spree seems to have further diminished her political standing. "

Start with;

TROOPERGATE
$150,000 wardrobe

Billing time for sitting at HOME

Billing for 3 flights to NYC for her CHILDREN who were not invited

Billing for flights for the kiddies to watch daddy at a game

What else? I''m sure those are the tip of the iceburg or will be.

I am not convinced Palin is a quick study...she sounds very rehearsed in her answers and if the questioning veers, she is liable to falter big times.
Palin''s politics are alarming to me and I hope on the wane. She is anti-environmental, medieval in her religious beliefs, anti-intellectual, and backwards. She represents all that I dislike about the Republican Party.

Just exactly where can I find out about this "hidden" Acorn money in the original bailout proposal? And since you''''re so adamant about what crooks the Acorn people are, I suggest you take a look at Mark Anthony Jacoby and the Young Political Majors, hired by the California Republican Party, and charged with fraud. Jacoby himself was arrested for lying about his own residence.

That money was taken out by the House of Representatives and was all over the news - so you should be able to easily find it. I am not your google boy. As for Acorn, I never stated they were crooks. read my post. Lets leave it that they are a completely legit ''get out the vote'' group. Ok, my post stated that the bill was 700 billion and would hurt us real hard. He was ahead double digets. Why the need to get out the vote? But my point was, why have us pay for it? Take it out of the Democratic campaign money. That bill was going to all of us. Why do you expect Republicans within America to pay for Obamas get-out-the-vote efforts?

How come you point out Palin''s "lack of experience" to be president but not Obama''s lack of any experience outside of being a politican. One with no management training or experience, but you feel he is the best quaified?? No, I can wait til Obama is elected: it will be great to see the media get their collective faces slammed into the pie for getting it wrong!!!!
