You forgot about the unregulated derivatives and the fact that nobody knows who owes whom what as the cause of the freezing of lending from one bank to another. This Fanny Mae Freddy Mac buying and selling of mortgages. Further, former Fed Chair Greenspan stated that he misjudged the greed of bankers and their willingness to abandon any common sense in avoiding undue risks. The Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac activities could not have occurred without the greed and poor practices of bankers. This was caused more by Republicans pushing for deregulations than anything else.

You are getting closer. It was Clintons cronies and Barneys lover that were approving everything. Why should the banks stop? No reason. Why should anyone at Fannie and Freddie stop? No reason. Why should the Republicans risk political suicide on something the Democrats created? No reason. why should the Democrats try to fix it? No reason as they need the minority vote.

And Greenspan didn''t see it? So that proves he is an idiot, so you can not use him as a source.

Dude you are hopeless. The ''deregulation'' that the Republicans sought was the removal of the amount of minority loans on the Bank Rating method. That rating is what effects the lines of credit.

We all knew all the long, that Palin was Not a good Choice. And the American People has seen MCcains judgement. Which has nailed his coffin. I myself were a Republican. But by my Better Judgement. And seeing who MCcain chose as his running mate. I changed Parties with a quickness.I will be Voting for Sen. Obama....

d776w,

Senator Biden is well respected internationally. He will be far better as a VP than Govenor Palin could ever be.

Police tell KDKA that a campaign volunteer has now confessed to making up a story that a mugger attacked her and cut the letter B in her face after seeing her McCain bumper sticker.

Ashley Todd, 20, of Texas, initially told police that she was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield and that the suspect became enraged and started beating her after seeing her GOP sticker on her car. [...]

This afternoon, a Pittsburgh police commander told KDKA Investigator Marty Griffin that Todd confessed to making up the story.

The commander added that Todd will face charges; but police have not commented on what those charges will be.

Authorities are expected to release more details at a news conference this afternoon.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Do you want to get into this? The Democrats caused the sub-prime mess there is no doubt on that. Were Republicans around during all this? Yes. they should have stopped it. But you liberals have made everything so damned Politically Correct that even saying that mortgages to minorities would elevate risk would be political suicide.

raflin010,

You have the Repugs talking points down pretty well. If the repugs cannot get a ground swell of mistrust of Senator Obama by last week, they are going to be swept away. Oops! I do not see the ground swell of mistrust rising. It appears that the Obama-biden ticket has run away with this election.

You a spresing misinformation. Phil Graham led the charge for deregulation. The Bush administration had the Secretary f the Treasury and the oversight of the Fed board for 7 1/2 years. so how does this equal the Dems being responsible for the abuses that led to the $700 bailout?

Bullchit man! I know my facts, and am not speading anything false!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community_Reinvestment_Act It was Democrat Carter in 1977 and the expansion into Fannie and Freddie by Clinton in 1992 and the Bank Rating system created by Clinton that judged Banks by their total of minority loans.

It was Barney Frank that put his gay lover into a sweetheart job at Fannie and he that denied any problems later. In fact he was emphatic about it. It was John McCain (sorry) that tried to alert that there was a problem.

ElectionXXX08: Oh, yeah, it''s both Democrats and Republicans, you''re blaming both, but you''re going to vote Republican. Seems to me the only people you were thumping on were Obama, Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, but it''s both Democrats and Republicans. Right.

No comment. All I have stated in this thread is a belief that this government has managed to corrupt itself and is not working for us. I have said that it is both Dems and Reps. I may be wrong but at least I stated why I thought Obama was a liar and a thief. My vote will be for McCain/Palin or it will be a no-vote, but it will not be for ''The One'' - sorry to bother you guys. c ya

What a sheep! Of course they are going to hide it. (eye roll) The fact that Democrats tried to push it through without gathering Republicans for the vote didnt alert you?....What if that was an abortion vote?

ElectionXX08: The fact of the matter is, there was money to rescue families from foreclosure that included funds for homeownership counseling. Homeownership counseling is one of the services that Acorn provides, as do many other organizations. There was no money earmarked for Acorn specifically and, in fact, no money HAD to go to Acorn.

Once again, I''m astounded that we can spent $275 million a day on the Iraq war but by God we''d better not spend a dime on Americans.

Now excuse me, I''ve got to go, it''s nearly shearing time, it''ll be here in about 11 days.

Oh, and as to your last question, that would depend entirely on who was being aborted.

electionXX08,

Senator Obama has taken the highroad in this campaign. If he wanted to be as nasty as Senator McCain, he could legitmately hammer him on his past adultery, participation in Tailhook conventions, being a member of the Keating Five, etc. However, he has cosen to ignore these misdeeds to focus on policies and McCain;s self-proclaimed support of the Bush administration.
