- To morphicweb, captalism works because people actually have to work. We have far too many people in America that do absolutely nothing with their lives. That is their choice. Just don''t expect me to subsidize their miserable choices.

- Can someone please provide me an articulate response as to why ''socializm'' is evil? I keep hearing everyone demonizing socializm...just an opinion here but shouldn''t multi-billion dollar corporations have a responsibilty to the middleclass individuals who do all the work?
Doesn''t socializm actually work out better for those who will never be wealthy?
Capitalist principles have driven the U.S economy into oblivion through greed and indifference...we''ve all been made fools of through this, yet questioning the fundamentals of capitalism is unpatriotic?
Could it be that the rich have painted a picture to the American people that anything other than capitalism is unpatriotic? Questioning this idealogy becomes a source of ridicule as if someone is anti-American for suggesting a system doesn''t work while the capitalist noose they hang from squeezes life from their body.
I dunno, it just seems to me that Capitalism only works for the rich and wealthy while *** everyday American''s forced to rely on them. - Reply to this comment
- I''m convinced that "Joe the Plummer," is a McCain operative, predisposed to confronting Obama on his stroll through the neighborhood. ...A plant. Conveniently timing an "bumped into" moment with Obama in the neighborhood only to be used as a political ''gotcha'' by McCain during the debate...That''s my take.

- To all those who have been deceived:
You can put Brylcreem on a Socialist, but HE''S STILL A SOCIALIST!
Why must government be in control of "philanthtopy?" Why not give more incentives to people of all income levels to give to causes of their choice? Do some research and I think you will find that Americans are the most generous people on this planet.
Quite frankly, I have been ticked off for years that the taxes I pay go to fund baby killers like Planned Parenthood. Now these iconoclasts want to hand out money to anyone with a social security number?

- docpeter1953 - whoa, did you miss my POINT! You left out the really key part of my post!: "So in effect with McCain%u2019s plan you can buy insurance, but with Obama%u2019s plan you can buy Crack or Meth."
My Post------------
McCain''''''''s plan is that if you pay for, or want to pay for your own insurance, he will provide you with $5000 to help. The difference between McCain%u2019s healthcare credit and Obama%u2019s %u201Cspread the wealth%u201D credit is that McCain will pay the insurer of your choice instead of sending the money straight to you. {insert the rest here]

______________
Ok, maybe, BUT here is what I see happening. someone THINKS they have found a really good deal, actually it will probably be a majority going out and "insurance shopping" for the lowest premium. They go to the doc or hospital and they checks out their insurance and guess what, he has to agree to take say a 50% cut in his cost to accept the patient. They send the patient away because the really don''''t have insurance they have a discount plan and neither the doc or the hospital accepts the discount plan.
I have seen many of these plans. they are deceptively advertised to the unwitting consumer.

- Clearly the Republicans think Joe Sixpack is too stupid to fact-check any of the things said by their candidate. In the past, I really respected McCain''s integrity and dedication to the American people. Even when you disagreed with him, you still felt he was driven by noble intentions. But the constant stream of lies and misdirections tell me that Senator McCain now thinks that becoming president is more important to him than the quality of his character.

- This is so silly Joe said he can''t afford more taxes but he is being used as a ploy against the very man who would lower his taxes?????
Poor Joe he only makes $40k. He has been duped by McCain''s lies. He obviously doesn''t understand the tax system... and now thanks to his McCain he is being made a fool of on national tv.
I hope is prepared to be chewed up and spit out by the Rep. Campaign machine. Sad just sad! - Reply to this comment
- Who is Joe, he doesn''t speak for me or anyone else who is a working American, how can the media quote him as the speaker for the American people. I listened to what Joe had to say and he sounds like a ignorant bigot who doesn''t know much about politics and received his one minute of fame playing as McCain''s republican front man to make Obama look bad. Obama said this is his last two debate that he was going to raise taxes for people who made more than 250,000 nobody listens they just want to hear they want to hear and who says that McCain would do the same thing this is just another reason to not vote for a black man for president, because he could lead a country. We had George Bush Jr. in the office for 8 years and I would like to know did he lead this country to better things including economy, employment, health care, education, housing etc; that is what''s important to Americans. I would appreciate if the media would stop feeding into "Joe the plumber" and talk about the real issues that matter.
