To morphicweb, captalism works because people actually have to work. We have far too many people in America that do absolutely nothing with their lives. That is their choice. Just don''t expect me to subsidize their miserable choices.

Can someone please provide me an articulate response as to why ''socializm'' is evil? I keep hearing everyone demonizing socializm...just an opinion here but shouldn''t multi-billion dollar corporations have a responsibilty to the middleclass individuals who do all the work?

Doesn''t socializm actually work out better for those who will never be wealthy?

Capitalist principles have driven the U.S economy into oblivion through greed and indifference...we''ve all been made fools of through this, yet questioning the fundamentals of capitalism is unpatriotic?

Could it be that the rich have painted a picture to the American people that anything other than capitalism is unpatriotic? Questioning this idealogy becomes a source of ridicule as if someone is anti-American for suggesting a system doesn''t work while the capitalist noose they hang from squeezes life from their body.

I dunno, it just seems to me that Capitalism only works for the rich and wealthy while *** everyday American''s forced to rely on them.

I''m convinced that "Joe the Plummer," is a McCain operative, predisposed to confronting Obama on his stroll through the neighborhood. ...A plant. Conveniently timing an "bumped into" moment with Obama in the neighborhood only to be used as a political ''gotcha'' by McCain during the debate...That''s my take.

To all those who have been deceived:

You can put Brylcreem on a Socialist, but HE''S STILL A SOCIALIST!

Why must government be in control of "philanthtopy?" Why not give more incentives to people of all income levels to give to causes of their choice? Do some research and I think you will find that Americans are the most generous people on this planet.

Quite frankly, I have been ticked off for years that the taxes I pay go to fund baby killers like Planned Parenthood. Now these iconoclasts want to hand out money to anyone with a social security number?

PULEEEEEEEEZ!

docpeter1953 - whoa, did you miss my POINT! You left out the really key part of my post!: "So in effect with McCain%u2019s plan you can buy insurance, but with Obama%u2019s plan you can buy Crack or Meth."

My Post------------
McCain''''''''s plan is that if you pay for, or want to pay for your own insurance, he will provide you with $5000 to help. The difference between McCain%u2019s healthcare credit and Obama%u2019s %u201Cspread the wealth%u201D credit is that McCain will pay the insurer of your choice instead of sending the money straight to you. {insert the rest here]

Ok, maybe, BUT here is what I see happening. someone THINKS they have found a really good deal, actually it will probably be a majority going out and "insurance shopping" for the lowest premium. They go to the doc or hospital and they checks out their insurance and guess what, he has to agree to take say a 50% cut in his cost to accept the patient. They send the patient away because the really don''''t have insurance they have a discount plan and neither the doc or the hospital accepts the discount plan.

I have seen many of these plans. they are deceptively advertised to the unwitting consumer.

Clearly the Republicans think Joe Sixpack is too stupid to fact-check any of the things said by their candidate. In the past, I really respected McCain''s integrity and dedication to the American people. Even when you disagreed with him, you still felt he was driven by noble intentions. But the constant stream of lies and misdirections tell me that Senator McCain now thinks that becoming president is more important to him than the quality of his character.

This is so silly Joe said he can''t afford more taxes but he is being used as a ploy against the very man who would lower his taxes?????

Poor Joe he only makes $40k. He has been duped by McCain''s lies. He obviously doesn''t understand the tax system... and now thanks to his McCain he is being made a fool of on national tv.

I hope is prepared to be chewed up and spit out by the Rep. Campaign machine. Sad just sad!

Who is Joe, he doesn''t speak for me or anyone else who is a working American, how can the media quote him as the speaker for the American people. I listened to what Joe had to say and he sounds like a ignorant bigot who doesn''t know much about politics and received his one minute of fame playing as McCain''s republican front man to make Obama look bad. Obama said this is his last two debate that he was going to raise taxes for people who made more than 250,000 nobody listens they just want to hear they want to hear and who says that McCain would do the same thing this is just another reason to not vote for a black man for president, because he could lead a country. We had George Bush Jr. in the office for 8 years and I would like to know did he lead this country to better things including economy, employment, health care, education, housing etc; that is what''s important to Americans. I would appreciate if the media would stop feeding into "Joe the plumber" and talk about the real issues that matter.

rwrsok.....I am a CPA and I do see small business that make over $250,000. They don''t have horses or SUV''s or boats that are deducted off their tax returns....I prefer McCain''s tax plan over Obamas. McCain DID get it right....

Joe asked a straight question and was told straight up by Obama that he plans to raise Joe''s taxes and spread Joe''s "wealth" around.

Here''s a news flash - Obama doesn''t automatically own anybody''s wealth if he becomes president but it is abundantly clear that he intends to!

Thanks Joe for clearing that up!

PPost from another site...

What if:

the Obamas had paraded 5 children across the stage at the RNC, including a 3 mo old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenager? ... McCain was president of the Harvard Law Review? ...Obama finished 5th from the bottom of his college class? ... McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee who had a long extramarital affair? ... Michelle Obama was addicted to pain killers acquired illegally through her charity? ... Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard? ... Obama was a member of the Keating Five? (5 US Senators accused of corruption during the Savings & Loan crisis). ... Obama had discipline problems in the military & a record of crashing planes? ... Obama had a bad anger management problem? ...Michelle Obama''s family made their money from beer? You could add to this list. If these ?s reflected reality, what would the polls look like? This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes qualities in 1 candidate & emphasizes negative characteristics in another. Take education: Obama:Columbia U - B.A. Political Science, Specialization in Int''l Relations.Harvard - J.D., Magna C. Laude. Biden:U of Delaware - B.A. in History & Pol. Science. Syracuse U College of Law - J.D. McCain: US Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899. Palin:Hawaii Pacific U - 1 sem N. Idaho College - 2 sems - general study U of Idaho - 2 sems - journalism Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester U of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. Journalism.

''also, morphic - did you know the FEDS are now investigating Acorn?? you can''''t compare the joe thing to VOTER FRAUD - that is our BASIC FREEDOM -- if you don''''t get it, you are probably too immature to understand'' - endsocialism

I''m not suggesting ''Joe'' is an example of voter fraud. I do believe however that the Republicans will stop at nothing, and I mean nothing to ensure they remain in power. Both parties are gulity of corruption on some level - but the Republicans are hands down the heavyweight champions of deceit.

What truly baffles me though is why middleclass Americans would continue to support the Right wing at all...they don''t care about ordinary Americans. They use religion and patriotism to scare the *** out of you and you still blindly support them...if it wasn''t so difficult to comprehend it would be funny.

The billionaires and corporations who control the United States don''t care about you. You''ll NEVER get a piece of their pie - EVER.

Secretly, they laugh behind your back snidely.

Is socialism evil? Is it really? God forbid we should live in a society that takes care of it''s citizens.

I%u2019m a professional tax preparer. John McCain rarely gets anything right when he speaks about taxes.

Most small businesses coming through my office generate less than $100k taxable earnings. Rarely do I see a small business earning more than $250k. Most small businesses report their income on the owners%u2019 personal Forms 1040. %u2018Business tax%u2019 doesn%u2019t even come into play.

Remember this as well: Many, many small business owners write off part of their personal lifestyle cost at your expense (you carry the burden they avoid). Examples: Horses, luxury SUV%u2019s, boats, RV%u2019s, airplanes, vacations, etc.

It is impossible to buy in on John%u2019s tax rhetoric if you know how taxes really work. I bet John does not even understand his own tax return.

Don%u2019t get fooled by John%u2019s empty and incorrect tax rhetoric. This is very reminiscent of GW Bush%u2019s habit of talking about things he seems to know very little about. We should all understand by now that ignorance is killing this country.

Sammie Davis, Jr. & tap-dancing?
I think we all know where Mr. Wurzelbacher stands on Obama. This is the best McCain''s America has to offer our own citizens & the World? This says it all in a nutshell to me. If the Wurzelbachers of America elect another Republican president, we can all hang it up. Everyone for themselves at that point - the suffering & crime rate will be unbelievable!! The remarkable thing is that - w/o a plumber''s license - this dude is likely to be one of the recession''s next stats - as we go into 7% unemployment. And, since he opposes Social Security & any taxed-based "wealth redistribution" programs (like food stamps? unemployment? certainly not national health insurance), there will be no safety net for him & his family. If the Wurzelbachers of America elect John McCain & Sarah Palin, we will lose any little international esteem we have left (which Joe the Plumber could care less about, I assume - not understanding that global monetary policy & our weak economy can destroy us financially) --- and the rich will get richer & the poor will get poorer & the "middle class" will slip even lower & lower into absolute ignorance of what is required for proper governance in our country. I guess I can''t help but wish upon Joe the Plumber the dreadful direct consequences of his vote (if it is Republican & is successful).
