"Reality Check"

Election Polls are conducted by partisan entities, targeted to a specific audience, and presented in an effort to solidify the base.
(Give you warm fuzzy feeling about voting for your candidate)

CNN/NBC/CBS - Polls for Biden.
FOX - Polls for Palin.

The reality is you can vote for McCain, Obama, Mickey, or Bud.
Either way is of no consequence for your vote does not count. Unless you are a member of the Electoral College. And if you think they always elect the candidate that wins the popular vote, this must be your first election. Be smart, use more brain cells investigating the records and ideals of your state/local representatives that is the only true vote you have.
The Government does not trust you to elect the President.

And yes - I KNOW she is running for VP. Only it WAS one of the poll questions I saw on CBS, and, with McCain''s age and health, people are very possible voting her as Pres.

The Liberal Media does not ever mention how inspirational Sarah Palin has been because like the Constipated Charles Gibson of ABC news would like to try to break an Inspirational speaker like Palin so that Obama does not appear to have met his match.

Inspirational?? You bet! She just inspired me to vote for Obama/Biden!!!!

I think one has to be honest here - it looks like both of them won - in the sense that they both accomplished what they had set out to do.

Biden came over as strong, and amiable and very knowledgeable. Also, he pushed the ticket by supporting Obama. Palin improved her ratings by not falling on her face as she did in that appalling Couric interview.

But if you look at her performance objectively, you will see several failings.

First - she said absolutely nothing of substance. Everything was generalities and platitudes. These kind of empty statements go over fine with her base, but I think the undecided voters feel that while it was sweet, it lacked substance. I think she underestimates the american public here. I think people are looking at her and saying "Yes, but where''s the beef?"

Second - A lot of what she said was clearly scripted, so much so that we could see her reading from her notes.

Finally- She totally avoided several of the questions. It appeared to me that not only did she make absolutely no attempt to answer the one about "her Achilles heel" but she didn''t seem to even realize that she was not answering the question. Also, several of her answers were very unclear, they were pointless meanderings.

---
I appreciate the advances she has made, she did NOT appear totally clueless. But anyone who would vote for her for president has got to be.... no I won''t say it.

You will get everything you ask for and you will not be happy.

You haven''t been happy, you are not happy now and you will not be happy in the future.

Sarah won hands down. Biden seemed on the defense constantly with constant partisan remarks which does nothing to accomplish change in this Great country of ours. People like Obama have stood out only because of his inspirational speeches however no common sense and inexperience which is so obvious. The Liberal Media does not ever mention how inspirational Sarah Palin has been because like the Constipated Charles Gibson of ABC news would like to try to break an Inspirational speaker like Palin so that Obama does not appear to have met his match. I will not watch Gibson ever again and I think it is so funny how the media and public are so tired of the lifelong Crafty Politicians such as Biden however they are so afraid of a new face such as Palin because with The Media (Which I have worked in myself for 20+ yrs) praises a New Democrat such as Obama however they are completely frightened to ask Obama the same type of tough questions. Where is the equality and substance of Gibson and Couric? Looks like looking at a sheet of questions is about as intelligent as you can get. National security has a large group of National Security advisors you biased media idiots. The President takes the information and makes the Executive decisions. Learn your job and create a fair playing field before you make such biased judgments.

Sincerely Michael

If one listened carefully to Governor Palin, it became apparent over the length of the debate that she is not a thorough and cogent thinker. Two main points to consider: 1) While attempting to deride Senator Biden over his valid criticisms of the Bush Administration by asking him to not "look to the past," she was quick to invoke the tired old reference to Ronald Reagan, thereby contradicting her own debate point, and 2) While attempting to repeatedly emphasize the now discredited logic that "lowering taxes will create new jobs," she conveniently ignores the 600,000 plus jobs that have been lost in this country so far this year (up to August 31st). Not even to mention the millions of jobs that have been lost in this country throughout the failed Bush Administration. I think that Senator Biden won this debate hands down; on substance, on cogent thinking, and on the ability to forcefully respond to Governor Palin''s repeated attempts to revisit the failed Reagan era ideology that has caused so much economic hardship for so many Americans.

maggie said, "I don''''t really want to live in a country where ANYONE can become president. I have a more prestigious education than Palin and much more management experience and even more political experience"

You should run for president! Really, I mean it!

But I hope you don''t spew those comments to your children. I would hate to dash their self confidence.

Palin can only do well when she can say her memorized stuff. I thought it was really bad when Biden was talking about being a single parent and was very serious and then the camera turned to Palin who was smiling and then started joking again. She wasn''t listening. She was just thinking about how to get all her jokes and jabs in. She''s awful.

Why are we were not judging them on the same scale? They are going after the same job. It''s kind of like some strange affirmative action. She is an inexpierenced female, by gosh she should get extra points just cause she didn''t start crying. She flunked. Same race but the media and even the dems are giving her a head start. I just want to know WHY.
WAKE UP PEOPLE, RIGHT NOW!!! If we don''t start expecting the same from her as we do Biden (or any 10 yr old) We will wake up with her in the WHITEHOUSE!!!

Thk4 said, "I think it is clear that Palin doesn''''t know enough about the economy"

Here is Obama on the economy:

-He wants to almost double the capital gains tax. He wants to strip the FICA tax cap off every worker making more than $97,500.

-He wants to increase the dividend tax. He wants to let the Bush tax cuts expire %u2014 giving almost every American family an automatic tax increase.

-He has called for more than $800 billion in new spending programs.

-He is so radical he even backed driver%u2019s licenses for illegal aliens (even though such a move would help future terrorists move freely in the United States)

-Never forget that Obama is a Harvard educated elitist. To him we Americans are simply %u201Cbitter%u201D and he has mocked us saying %u201C[they] cling to their guns and their religion.%u201D
