McCain answered the 3AM call, but waited until 3PM the next day, when the Commerce Committee already had come up with a solution. He might have gotten there on time if he hadn''t stopped to grandstand with Katie Couric and check in with his "suspended" campaign to make sure he was following the talking points issued regarding how to make political points from having suspended his campaign. Maybe he just had trouble finding the Senate since he hadn''t bothered to show up to vote for anything since April. Idiocy is believing this was anything but a political maneuver.
