McCain is slipping in the polls and growing desperate.

Now he''s trying to leverage the Republican WhiteHouse to boost his own standing with the public.

Flailing political stunt that the American people aren''t going to buy.

Not this time McRove !

Why would America REWARD complete Republican failure ?

We wont.

My solution to this mess is to NOT tax those that did things the right way. Instead, the persons that should be footing the bill for the $750 Bil should be the banks, mortgage brokers and those that took out the loans for "too good to be true" homes for their incomes - or for those that flipped homes.

I figure it this way, charge the banks and the mortgage industry for 1/2 the debt. The other half should be taxed to the people that took out the loans and foreclosed/short sold and flipped homes (let the government figure the ratios of debt). For example (and this is only an example), if there were 4 million forclosures or flipped homes, then those people should be taxed an additional $6250 per year for the next 15 years. (The truly poor would not be affected as they were not able to qualify for a home in the first place - however since the government now owns these homes perhaps some can be converted into low income multifamily temportary housing). Instead we punish those that made the bubble grow by flipping homes, making insane profits and as a by-product, falsely increasing the home worth. Take those profits away or limit them. Never again should house flipping be allowed. As well, I know of some people that foreclosed on their homes just to buy a home in the same neighborhood for a reduced price.

As far as the debate, Shame on McCain. But then again, let Obama have the airtime...

Here''s another guffaw...McCain obviously hiding with his tail between his legs from the prying eyes of the American public in a public debate along with guarding Palin from other than teleprompter speeches and pre-approved questions so we can make a conscious choice? Whadda joke! He has made a mockery of the voting process. Oh, and the boys on the Hill can work out the details of our economy without his flip flopping fingers in the pie.

He would serve the public as president by running away when the going gets tough. I think he has bitten off more than he can chew and realizes the idiotic choice Palin was for a running mate. Yes, run John run, far far away from the people who you claim emptily you want to serve.

We now can vote with confidence for a candidate who is of, for, by, and with the people and does not run from questions/press/law/truth and that is Obama.

Get with the program American voters!

Neither McCain of Obama are on the committees (Democrats & Republicans working together) that are working out the details of the "bailout" so McCain''s return to Washington is just another example of his rampant dishonesty in this campaign. McCain would not even be allowed in these meetings and he knows this and so does Bush who has offered this photo op for McCain. Bush who didn''t say boo until the deal is nearly done.

We don''t stop debates for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. We didn''t stop debates for the Iranian hostage crisis or the NYC bombings in the 60s.

And, what, exactly will McCain, who is not on the Banking/Finance committee be doing in DC? On a Friday evening?

The man who has voted against regulation and oversight for 26 years and who chaired the Commerce Committee (gee, thanks for that great job!) which just watched us step in this mess, is not going to be a help in DC.

And even if he needs to be in DC, shouldn''t his "absolutely" ready VP pick be able to keep the campaign going for a couple of days?

This is so much desperate posturing.

It was nice of McCain to say he stopped campaigning because of the economic crisis.

Now maybe, McCain will follow his own words for the first time in 26 years.

McCain met with Baroness Rothschild last night and campaigned in NYC at the Clinton Global Initiative this morning.

When is McCain going to putting country first?

You do not suspend your campaign with 45 days left. This is the time when the American public most needs to know what your policy is. Don''t cancel the debate, change the topic to "how to fix the crisis" and tell us your ideas. THAT''S what we need to be informed. We need to hear from the candidates, not the media, about what each candidate plans to do about this situation. Go to Washington, meet with the President, and then talk to US, the American public. If ANYTHING, put your VP running mate in charge of the campaign while you are busy, because that is what the VP DOES IN TIMES OF TROUBLE.

I am losing confidence in Sarah Palin as a running mate every single day. Why is everyone shielding this woman? I want to see what she''s made of when the heat is on. I need to KNOW THAT. Step up woman.

Have you ever reacted too quickly and looked back and wished you had not? This sounds like that''s what we''ll be doing. Bailing out the rich to add to average citizen''s debt, and what they will really use the $700 BILLION for we won''t know until they decide to tell us the truth! Let the rich take care of themselves!

McSame misses 58% of the votes of the 110th Congress (vs Obama 40%), with the economy faltering all the while, to run a campaign that culminated with last weeks poll advantage over Obama. Now that his poll numbers are plummeting, he wants us to believe that he''s a patriot, because he can hide from Obama''s debating skills in the Senate? Why not suspend the campaign and head for Washington after announcing Palin as your running mate? The Bush 700 Billion dollar "Weapons of Mass Depression" hype is a last ditch desperate effort by Republicans to give money to the people who will employ them and their lackeys once the American people run them out of Washington. With the eviction notice from the White House looming, they know they better scare the American people into letting them work favors for they corporate friends now when they still have the White House.

We should deal with this problem in true American fashion, we will put it to a vote: McCains''s plan vs Obama''s this Nov 4. In the mean time, we can deal with economic problems one at a time. This should be directed by Constitutional branch most open to discussion by the American people: Congress. All the geniuses in Wall Street that got them selves into this mess can console themselves in their commitment to accepting "personal responsibility" for their actions.

McCain is "too busy" to debate, but he did find time to meet with the Baroness Rothschild. And to attend Clinton''s Global *******.

It was funny the way Letterman ripped him a new one, tho''.
