No the McCain camp was likely not aware. They have just sent people to Alaska to start the vetting process!

If Sarah Palin really wanted to disprove the rumors about Trig''s birth mother and also wanted to protect her daughter''s privacy, why didn''t she just release medical records for the boy''s birth?

ah yes...Palin-the ETHICS REFORMER.
Wasn''t Gov. Spitzer of NY also an ethics reformer? At least HE had the guts to step aside. Will she do the same?
Ethics, like charity, begins at home.

as a democrat, I find Palins actions quit admirable, to come forward with this took many meetings and discussions and probably focus groups in the last 24 hours to get this news out.

Sad, so much for republicans and moral values. The selection of Palin is was a disastrous pick. McCain''s judgment should be called or will be called into question.

Wow that teen is really cranking out the kids, first "brother" Trig and a second child already.
Is there nothing else to do in Alaska?

17 and pregnant. So, who taught her those morals. So much for saving yourself for marriage. There you go kids, another teenage pregnant role model. At least Mom can get her hooked up with all of those State of Alaska benefits. Don''t marry Palin''s sister though, Palin will call your place of work and try to get you canned.

Why is it that anytime someone says something bad about a Democrat or his family, there is so much indignity. But seems to be perfactly OK to bring out bad stuff (ie. Palin''s daughter''s pregnancy)about the other side of the isle.

There''s an elephant in the room people. The GOP disguised it as a moose.

I seem to recall that John Edwards disclosed to his wife Elizabeth well in advance of his declaring his candidacy about his infidelity and the two kept their mouths shut. This was far more egregious than Palin''s unmarried daughter getting pregnant. The story would''ve been worse had Palin''s daughter opted for an abortion. Dem critics are never satisfied, no matter what the aspect of the situation and will use every angle to try and make their caustic points.

I''m glad to know that the GOP will spin this as a "positive" for the McCain campaign.

What other moral lessons have the yet to teach us?

The only person that "looks stupid" is the one who claims moral (read: religious) superiority, yet fails to teach her children how to prevent pregnancy out of wedlock. This woman is incapable of leading this country. What a joke.

Yeah, I bet the McCain camp was aware of the pregnancy! I have no problem with the kid being pregnant but you have to question if the McCain camp really vetted this woman. This is only day 3 this could be a very interesting ride.
