I am a Democrat and am proud of it.

But, as Will Rodgers said, "I am not
a member of an organized party. I
am a Democrat". The GOP has shot itself in the foot numerous times and then gone back to reload. However, if we do not handle this right, we will be snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Seems that everyone is "vetting" (a very over-used hackneyed word) the candidates'' records these days...When I see the word "vetting" it brings to mind rabies and distemper shots and cleaning out anal glands....Come to think of it, maybe it''s not such a bad word to use with certain politicians after all....

The only office Obama is going into is the Welfare office. If you or anyone else thinks Obama will be elected.......too bad.

Have you ever - just once in your life - considered the possibility that you were completely, totally and horrifically wrong?

No? Not once?

I thought not.

Fool.

"How stupid is that?"

Posted by b-easy63

Very stupid, but I''m afraid you answered your own question. In other words, there is no solution to the problem called "Iraq" this country created entirely on its own. My personal opinion? We should leave Iraq asap... yes, it will be a bloody mess over there for years to come, but we have to face the hard reality that the people of Iraq must resolve their differences themselves. No outsiders can do it for them (look at our track record with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict). The longer we maintain a presence on foreign (sacred) soil, the longer we will continue creating new generations of folks who will rightfully despise, distrust, and hate us.

By the way, I hope everyone posting here realizes that what we have unleashed in Iraq is not a short-term problem or issue. Like it or not, this event will prove to be a defining episode in human history that will last 1000 years or longer. There will always be someone who will point to what we did in Iraq as justification to commit another atrocity or as a simple act of revenge.

America has come of age... we are no longer a beacon of hope for the world, but just another nation with imperialistic tendencies that are doomed to fail. The fall of the American empire has begun.

So what are you attempting to imply?
We are to believe the person at the Press Secretary Podium?
Or, the former person that held that position?

Which republican is lying?

Why is it we have all the Judas'' around these days? From this fool to Judas Richardson to Judas Kennedy. What ever happened to loyalty? Everything and anything for money. Judas MeClellan....cash; Judas Richardson...a job(cash); Judas Reich...a job; Judas Kennedy....well I''m sure his priorities have changed in the last couple of weeks.

Man, with friends like these people, hand me over to Al Qaeda any day....I''d rather be beheaded than be on the receiving end of their treachery.

b-easy63, it''s time for the US to go begging to the UN for help. It''s the only way to resolve this and allow American soldiers to go home. Iraq needs to be divided into three countries, to reflect the three distinct ethnic/religious groups. Only then will there be peace in the country. How they plan to govern these separate states will be decided internally with the advice of the international community. Democracy can not be shoved down the throats of people who are not ready for it because they have no concept of it.

White House press secretary Dana Perino released this statement on Scott McClellan''s critical book on the Bush White House:

"Scott, we now know, is disgruntled about his experience at the White House. For those of us who fully supported him, before, during and after he was press secretary, we are puzzled. It is sad -- this is not the Scott we knew."

Bush, McCain - McCain, Bush, it''''s just more Republican Bushit. One minute McCain wants nothing to do with Bush and the next they are raising money together. The same with the Right. MCCain wanted nothing to do with them and now he is courting them. Talk about a man who cannot make up his own mind.

Note that doctors discuss the fitness of McCain''s heart but neglect to state the fitness of his mind. McCain appears to already suffer the onset of dementia (with mood swings, forgetfulness, misplacement of facts, etc. McCain cannot make up his mind--because McCain does not even know where his mind is.

If elected, it will be others who actually run the country--probably the same hidden group who are running it behind the curtains right now.

"Halliburton''''s stock price was $10 before the war and went up to over $40 after the war."

Of course. America''s industrial military complex is bursting at the seams with record profits. What else is new? That''s why they''re still stuffing mega-dollars into the pockets of Congressmen (primarily the neocon, "chicken hawk" Republicans) because as long as the war continues, business is good.

Everyone knows the war was waged based on lies. The questions America forgets to ask is why did so many fall for the lies while others saw through them and why the ones too stupid to see the lies are still in office.

The other question is: we are in a pit of our own making--do we keep digging and hope we get out by coming out the other side--or is this a time to say "oops, sorry our bad" to the Iraqi people and get the hell out of their country. We can''t replace a single life. Not one. Not for our own people who were killed for these lies--not for the hundreds of thousands of Iraqis who were killed. And as we stay, we will kill more and ruin more lives. We are looking at a forest fire of our own making and thinking that just maybe a bit more gasoline will eventually cause it to burn itself out. How stupid is that?

To the guys in Halliburton the Iraq war was very NECESSARY.

Halliburton''''s stock price was $10 before the war and went up to over $40 after the war.

Bush did great for Halliburton.

Halliburton has moved to Dubai, they aren%u2019t even an American Corporation any longer.
Dubai is a tax free haven for Multinational Corporations. The Banks in Dubai is where Al Quaida was able to finance and pay for the 911 World Trade Center Attack. I question the patriotism of dealing with Dubai. The Bush/McCainey Administration will only see more US $Dollars taken from the American People and sent to Banks in Dubai.
