- Bud28 RonPaul is NOT a ''fringe candidate'' i checked many online polls (avoid these MSM biased polls) and Ron Paul is high, as high as ''big candidates''
Here''s the LAT quickpoll (18000 votes right now), known to be pro-illegal:
22.9% Hillary Clinton
12.6% John Edwards
1.8% Rudy Giuliani
2.6% Mike Huckabee
3.2% Dennis Kucinich
4.5% John McCain
23.7% Barack Obama
24.1% Ron Paul
3.5% Mitt Romney
1.1% Fred Thompson

- CBS isn''t being biased but just stating the obvious. Paul came in a distant, distant second. He was the only other candidate besides Romeney to campaign in the state. Sorry guys buts that''s the truth, not some voodoo negative spin. The real test was in SC where Paul campaigned as did everyone else except Guliani and Paul got 4% of the vote. It shows that when there is actual competition, Paul fails again miserably. All your whining about the huge conspiracy against you won''t change the fact that your candidate is a chronic 5th place finisher. And why in the world do you think anyone would waste their time involved in a big conspiracy against Paul when he has never been any threat to anyone, except maybe Duncan Hunter. Facts are facts guys, deal with it.

- Ron Paul is several cuts above his Republican rivals which isn''t saying much but every bit helps.

- Do you honestly think that we don''t notice that you consistently overlook Dr. Paul''s Presidential campaign & dismiss him (& us) as out of touch? You try your best to make Dr. Paul & his very well thought out & intelligent solutions to our country''s current problems, appear as though they are kooky. The American Constitution is "kooky"? I think not! Cutting back on our government''s huge spending is ridiculous? Getting rid of the Federal Reserve, that''s madness, right? :)
CBS should think about adding a new program to their current line up. We could call it "American Survival". A story line about some really intelligent Americans that spend their hours actually balancing the American budget & locating those lost trillions. We might even be able to file criminal charges against those responsible for & that profited by this mess. I think it would be an automatic hit! The audience could text suggestions & then vote for the individual they thought was doing the best job and pass sentences over the criminals! The story line sounds familiar, but I just can''t place it :)
Let''s get back to real investigative reporting, like that of Mike Wallace, Morley Safer or Ed Bradley? The pablum you are feeding us now is just that, pablum. *** to be innovative & different by covering the truth, the whole truth & nothing but the truth. I am ashamed of you CBS, I expected much, much better. However, I do thank you for making me read more :) Now back to my book, "Blackwater", a very interesting read. - Reply to this comment
- This is really weird: I dont have CNN but i watch KTLA news here in LA (in Mexifornia), I watched the Nedava results on KTLA news tonight, they DID NOT EVEN MENTION ron paul 2nd place, they showed copious footage of Obama and Billary cheering instead, then Romney winner and then rapidly the 3rd, but no mention of the 2nd place?.....

- Ron Pauls lack of votes is not entirely the medias fault. The main culprit is lazy, complaining, people who wont get off the couch to vote or even spend 20 minutes to read about Dr Pauls beliefs. Even if the public reads his positions they say that makes to much sense but that will never happen! Why? Because were so jaded by our governments performance since WWI?? The greed. The what is Gov gonna do for me crowd... I mean come on look at population levels of the states where the primaries were held look at the total number of votes. The numbers are disgusting! The media and establishment know this and use it to their advantage. Ron Paul has exact plans to fix plans for Americans(remember us? the people in the continental US?) Everyone else will continue to do the same just under a different shade of color. I am sure under the radar there are some powerful people saying if this guy got elected we would be in trouble! Yet in the same breath at some country club or wherever the rich people are they know us regular joes are so caught up in the struggle to raise a family we rashionalize away our liberties by fearing 30 sec sound bytes from familiar faces. Anyway people take some personal responsibility and stop looking
for the Gov to solve you personal problems. The media gets away with it because we let them until the general public gets their act together - Reply to this comment
- Why is it that you minimize everything about Ron Paul? Your lack of complete, honest reporting compels me to get my news coverage elsewhere (L A Times perhaps). You join Fox in coverage that I will not read or watch unless you change your methods of covering Ron Paul so negatively when you cover his success at all.

- When other candidates do poorly--such as Guliani, the media discusses the positive aspects of this and their tone and mannerisms show true compassion. Yet when Ron Paul does well, they immediately feel obligated to discuss why it''s not such a great thing! ("Now, a few caveats. First off, it''s a pretty distant second. Paul only got 14 percent of the vote, far behind Mitt Romney''s 51 percent. Secondly, Paul barely edged out John McCain, who didn''t campaign in Nevada, whereas Paul ran ads in the state. And third, Paul is not looking like a factor in South Carolina, where voters went to the polls today.")
Note that McCain HAS BEEN GIVEN HUGE media attention across the country, including Nevada while, concurrently, there has been a virtual media black-out of Ron Paul! In fact, one has to do their own research to learn about the Ron Paul campaign. Knowing how poorly motivated many Americans are and how they get much of their information from television, most know little about Ron Paul. What also wasn''t mentioned is the huge concern about the unreliability of the electronic voting machines across the country. (Go to: http://ronrox.com/paulstats.php or http://www.blackboxvoting.org.)
The way the media%u2014including CBS has marginalized Ron Paul (and other candidates like Kucinich) is reprehensible. Whatever happened to good old fashioned objective reporting? Just think: What IF Dr. Paul had received EQUAL national news coverage as had Clinton, Obama and other candidates? - Reply to this comment
- anyone wonders why the media, specifically the New York Times, cannot be trusted to report the news in a truthful way, here is a bit of proof:
This is supposed to be a primary RESULTS page%u2026but the second place winner in Nevada, Ron Paul at 14%, has amazingly been LEFT OUT.
Title of page: Primary Season Election Results
URL: http://politics.nytimes.com/election-guide/2008/results/index.html
When I wrote to the NYT to complain, I got a long convoluted song and dance about polling. Why then are the results for NH primary candidates getting 1% posted and not candidates getting 8%?
It makes no sense. Call and let them know you won%u2019t be fooled by their blatant twisting of the news.

- The amazing story is 2nd place. This is a place I want to move too. Could you imagine just what numbers he''d get if he had his message getting out on MSM? Paul get''s censored everywhere. Not a minute of him on TV today.

- When you add the cumulative votes for Iowa, NH, Michigan and Nevada Ron Paul is fourth. Your back-handed marginalizing articles about Ron Paul are tiresome. There is no credibility for you to defend, so I why bring it up?

- I did a search and had to really dig to find any mention of Ron Paul by the mass media and finally found this story only to see the writer pooh poohing Ron Paul''s win.
If Ron Paul had a sprinkling of the pop and the FREE media ride the RINOs have been getting, the American people would learn what Ron Paul''s freedom message is about. That is why all Ron Paul information has to be hunted down -much like any news of substance.
That''s okay. Some extremely interested Americans are learning and will teach others well.

- Nevada is a small 2nd place victory for our (Ron Pual) campaign, mostly because we head right back to my ''head in the sand'' southland of SC and then FL. But still I was excited as hell for us. But we have to realize that this is an ultra-marathon, and we have to keep our man in the race while everyone else goes broke, and then we''ll have a better shot at educating the average voter about their best choice for President. If we keep our man in the race, we will still fight a huge battle against the undermining establishment that doesn''t want him in the White House. These are powerful people that want to maintain control and secrecy, and Ron Paul threatens to expose the size and corruption within, and connected with, government. People don''t know enough about Ron Paul yet to realize the benefits of getting out of Iraq, backing away from Iran, closing bases around the world and bringing our soldiers home (even though my nephew loves being stationed in Germany), stopping funding to other countries, and focusing on our borders and our people within them. I spoke with Ron Paul last night in Charleston after our Veterans rally, this man is a brilliant visionary for our future and our sovereignty and prosperity. And he''s a cycling advocate to boot.

- (continued) The rest, with Richardson out and Kucinich low in the polls, seem to be talking crazy talk about our military adventures in the Middle East. Additionally, no one else seems to understand the problems with the economy, inflation, and out of control deficit spending. Inflation is going to eat us alive, as it has already started to do so. Do you really believe that the REAL inflation rate last year, the rate that was used by the government for Social Security check increases this month, was 2.3%? Just look at the price of gold up 30% in 2007, now at an all time high and getting higher!
One can not talk about tax cuts without ALSO talking about cutting spending. We have a $9 trillion debt (nearly double since 2000) that must be paid so we can afford Social Security and Medicare. The interest payments will go sky high when we begin to fight inflation with higher Federal Reserve bank rates.
And we must stop inflation or everyone''s life savings will go down the tubes, along with the middle class, like what has happened to the middle class in most countries south of our border. And do not forget National Health Insurance, which is coming down the tracks right at us, unless Republicans begin to understand the seriousness of runaway deficits and inflation. And start educating the country. A Democratic President will surely not fight inflation like Volcker and Reagan did!
Please vote Ron Paul and save the country from bankruptcy abroad and at home! - Reply to this comment
- You know with all the problems facing America, it would be really nice if the mainstream media actually cared about reporting on the positions of each Presidential candidate on all the issues rather than reporting on the horse race. Unfortunately the MSM thinks that only the polls and the candidate%u2019s %u201Cpresidential charisma%u201D are important. Who the heck cares how they comb their hair or what color her dress was?! We will get more in depth reporting on the Super Bowl players than we will on the remaining candidates. It is all quite maddening.
That being said, we each seem to have our own major issue(s) that make their choice for President seem like the best one. My question is: Would someone tell me why we should NOT elect Ron Paul? The rest seem to be talking crazy talk about our military adventures in the Middle East. Also, no one else seems to understand the problems with the economy, inflation, and out of control deficit spending. Inflation is going to eat us alive, as it has already started to do so. - Hopefully as these other impostors drop by the wayside people will begin to see who the real conservative is, the one who WILL go against the elitists who are running this nation into the ground and erasing our sovereignty.
