"You don''t like people from outside the state coming in and telling you what to do with your flag," Huckabee said in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Thursday. "In fact, if somebody came to Arkansas and told us what to do with our flag, we''d tell ''em what to do with the pole, that''s what we''d do."

Do you think that just maybe that is how they might feel about Georgie going into Iraq and the MidEast ??

denn034: "If AIDS isn''''t a gay disease, then, why are 70% of all AIDS infections gay related."

Sorry, no. UNAIDS estimates that about 18 million women are living with HIV/AIDS worldwide, accounting for 47 percent of the 37.2 million adults living with HIV/AIDS.

''Nuff said.

Homosexuality, Bisexuality, and Intravenous Drug Uses cause AIDS. Look at any statistic to see that. If AIDS isn''t a gay disease, then, why are 70% of all AIDS infections gay related. Gay marriage promotes homosexuality and more infections. Enough said.

Denn034: your logic makes no sense. If you want to reduce AIDS, gay marriage is the antidote not the cause. If gay people are married, they aren''t fooling around with other people.

And AIDS is not a gay disease. That was just the first population hit with it in this country.

Fight AIDS! Support Gay Marriage!

(Isn''t it strange how the conservative comments here are so out of touch with reality? One guy thinks the Civil War was a noble effort? And he is proud of displaying a symbol of racism and hatred? And Christians all seem to be seeking someone to persecute?----and they make fun of Muslim-led countries for doing the same thing to Christians?

One more comment. The Universal Declaration on Human Rights says heterosexual marriage only is a human right. In fact, homosexuality is never once mentioned in that entire declaration that the United Nations issued.

South Carolina needs to change it''s flag. If one''s heritage is racist, then, taking pride in it is wrong. Huckabee''s right about gay marriage though. Newsflash David Smith, you''re the one out of the mainstream of American thought. In the end, gay marriage promotes a lifestyle that can only lead to more AIDS infections and saddle such with "long and productive" poverty inducing AIDS drug costs and one has to wonder why any sane government would want such for it''s citizenry.

So, Mr. Coward, you would consider yourself as Anti-American, since your white folks were humbled by the North---and our combined country remains?

I do sincerely hope that racism (and Confederate sentiment) is Anti-American!

"I also am a Christian and in the Bible it puts homosexuality and lying with animals on the same pedestool. So he is not wrong

Posted by BNPowell9 at 03:14 PM : Jan 18, 2008"

Actually no it doesn''t. There are no actual passages in the bible that say anything specifically about homosexuals or homosexuality being against God. There are passages that refer specifically to acts by pagan priests and priestesses but those have to do with idolatry and multi-theism.

I get so sick of the "Christians" manipulating passages of the bible to suit their own agendas. It makes me sick every time I see some kid wearing a "WWJD" bracelet while calling some other kid a "***" or "queer".

How about if you Christians taught your children what Jesus really stood for...tolerance, inconclusiveness, acceptance, compassion, knowledge, love. Instead you teach your children to be bigots and racists and arrogant, narrow-minded fools.

"I think the radical view is to say that we''re going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal," Huckabee said.

These type of comments just show a lack of intellegence, a lack of thoughtful reason, and a penchant for listening to far right ditto-heads that come up with bumper-sticker political statments. This guy will never be president, nor should he.

In case there''s any lingering doubt about the real reasons for the southern secession, look at the declarations from the states involved....

Georgia:

"For the last ten years we have had numerous and serious causes of complaint against our non-slave-holding confederate States with reference to the subject of African slavery...."

Mississippi:

"Our position is thoroughly identified with the institution of slavery-- the greatest material interest of the world. Its labor supplies the product which constitutes by far the largest and most important portions of commerce of the earth."

South Carolina:

"The right of property in slaves was recognized by giving to free persons distinct political rights, by giving them the right to represent, and burthening them with direct taxes for three-fifths of their slaves...."

Texas:

"In all the non-slave-holding States, in violation of that good faith and comity which should exist between entirely distinct nations, the people have formed themselves into a great sectional party, now strong enough in numbers to control the affairs of each of those States, based upon an unnatural feeling of hostility to these Southern States and their beneficent and patriarchal system of African slavery...."

The Civil War wasn''t about slavery? Yeah, right.
