Look, the whole stated purpose of the surge was to provide separation and relief, so that there could be political progress. Which there has been none. None of. So, that''''s why we continue to say that the surge was not effective. Because the stated purpose of the surge was to provide that sort of separation so that politically, the Iraqi government could stand on their own. And they have yet to be able to do that.

Let''s get this straight. First of all, McSame does not support the troops. He voted against the GI Bill so he is a flat out liar.

The corporations who are profiting big time on the murder in Iraq are the same ones who own the media. They were cheerleading for the invasion, back the occupation and are the biggest supporters of the Grand Oil Party.

I new thought I would live in a fascist country. And you want more of the McSame? God forgive you and God Forgive America.

Senator McCain seems to imply the following regarding the surge in IRAQ: If I have rats in one part of my house and I increase the number of cats on patrol and they chase the rats to another room of the house, I can then declare victory. The surge worked!! Or has it? Afganistan seems to be over run. I''ve got it...why don''t we have a surge there and chase em'' back into Iraq and declare victory in Afganistan? ummm, wait a minute.

McCain came into conflict with higher-ranking personnel, he did not always obey the rules, and this contributed to a low class rank (894 of 899) that he did not aim to improve.

McCain was then stationed in A-1 Skyraider squadrons, on the aircraft carriers USS Intrepid and USS Enterprise, in the Caribbean and Mediterranean Seas. The planes he was flying crashed twice and once collided with power lines, but he received no major injuries.

McCain requested a combat assignment, and in December 1966 was assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal flying A-4 Skyhawks. McCain''s combat duty began when he was 30 years old, in summer 1967, when Forrestal was assigned to a bombing campaign during the Vietnam War. In August 1968, a program of severe torture began on McCain. He was subjected to rope bindings and repeated beatings every two hours, at the same time as he was suffering from dysentery. Further injuries led to the beginning of a suicide attempt, which was stopped by guards. After four days, McCain made an anti-American propaganda "confession". He has always felt that his statement was dishonorable, but as he would later write, "I had learned what we all learned over there: Every man has his breaking point. I had reached mine."

Much has been made of allegations of possible youthful use of illegal drugs by Republican presidential candidate George W. Bush. Meanwhile, his chief GOP opponent, Arizona Sen. John McCain, has admitted that his wife not only illegally used drugs but walked away from criminal charges. The McCains have worked to make Cindy McCain''s addiction into a political asset--despite the fact that she stole the drugs from a charity she directed and used them while mothering four young children.
In 1994, Mrs. McCain admitted that she had solicited prescriptions for painkillers from physicians who worked for an international charity that she founded, the American Voluntary Medical Team. She then filled the prescriptions in the names of her staff.

The facts as noted by independent Rand analysis is that there were 3 components which contributed to reduced violence in Iraq. The first was the Anbar Awakening and it subsequent awakening councils that put the sheiks in charge of routing the foreign fighters. The second was al Maliki mounting an aggressive military operation against insurgents using his own troops and the third was the addition of US troops to Baghdad. John Sydney McCain III wants us to believe that the "surge" and only the surge enable all of this to happen when the fact is that the Awakening began 4 months BEFORE the surge was even announced and the anti-insurgent thrust by al Maliki took place while the surge troops were still arriving.
